    So very sobering...God says why have you despised Me. Wow, what a heart wrenching situation to be in. I have to always remember that sin hurts everyone, even God. It is a destroyer. Death touched everything that begin with David's sin. Bathsheeba, Uriiah David's walk with God. Nothing escaped. God please please please help me to remember that sin is a lying lure. Nothing good comes from it.
    And the hardest part Kim is when God told David that if it weren't enough, God would have given him more. All that decimation for nothing. I must must must remember to take my desires to God and trust Him to fulfill them in the best way possible, and not force them into my life on my own.
    Thank you again! Your gift is greatly appreciated!

      I love this prayer, Jaimie..."...help me to remember that sin is a lying lure." YES. It can come so well disguised, but that's all it is. As you said, nothing good comes from it. And that's the hardest part for me as well, that God would have given him more. When I think about the heart of God in that... And once again, the way you worded this... "...trust Him to fulfill them in the best way possible, and not force them into my life on my own"....amen! Our God has an overabundance of good and perfect gifts. Only the enemy would cause us to think it's not enough. So thankful for your insights, Jaimie! Such a blessing to study with you!

    Psalm 51 - amen. This was so good, in a heartwrenching way. I had tears in my eyes as I listened to God's judgement wrapped in love and grace. While the consequences of our sins may be felt forever, I am SO thankful that God is still there to love us and allow us to cling once again, never casting us away even as he punishes. And THIS -> "I will go to him, but he will not come back to me." Yes, yes, yes that awesome assurance and faith! Thank you Father that we can have faith and trust through all the pain and sin of this life.

      "Good in a heartwrenching way"...I know exactly what you mean. This is a chapter I've come to time and again because it's SO sobering yet, as you said, wrapped in love and grace. We need those reminders of the seriousness of sin in God's eyes, as well as the limitlessness of His grace. "...faith and trust through all the pain and sin in this life".... amen, my friend. Forever thankful for that truth.

    This brings me to the song “If it had not been for The Lord on my side where would I be?” He is gracious, forgiving and his mercy endures forever...... God is a loving God he wants us to do his will and he’s there to guide us if we let him. Amen sis Kim. You are doing an awesome job with the lessons. Love you!

    God, at one low point in my life, had me read this whole account to teach me a lesson about his mercy and my marriage! It was a huge eye opener about the wrong road I was traveling! I was truly humbled and thanked God for his Loving rebuke! I am eternally humbled!

      @kimcashtate  6 лет назад +1

      Tammy, I know that wasn't easy to hear (though loving, those rebukes are hard) and yet, it was surely God's love and mercy. What a blessing that you listened and can now praise God for how He moved in your life at that low point. Thank you for sharing that. xo

    Reading this made me think of the conviction I felt to a sin I committed against God in 2016. I just remember feeling so ashamed, I could barely pray about it. I really felt David in this chapter. Because he loves God, the realization of what he had done must have weighed heavy on him. Thank you for your studies. I am so blessed by it.

    poor David this was an emotional rollercoaster for him. Could we handle such words if we are not clinging?

    • @kimcashtate
      @kimcashtate  6 лет назад +1

      That's a great question. The fact that David had the heart of a clinger helped him receive those words.
