Oh, that place where God is not hearing your prayers - a terrible place to be. I'm moved by David's immediate reaction to remove the famine, even though it had to have been a terribly hard thing to give the Gibeonites what they were asking for. Even today, we may be asked to make incredibly steep (to our earthy minds at least) sacrifices in order to cling. My heart goes out to Rizpah - it must have seemed horrifically unfair to her to suddenly see her sons taken....and that's a mama heart right there to spend weeks out in the rain protecting her children's bodies. I get it. So thankful that God's ways are higher than ours, even when He's requiring total faith in Him and His answers to prayer don't make sense. Trust Him!
And Kim, that ending section on sincere, heartfelt prayer was beautiful. So true - He will always listen to a sincere heart even when it's broken. Amen.

"God's ways are higher...." So thankful for that as well Some things we will just not understand and have to be okay with that. That "total faith" is not an easy step. And yet, so many blessings when we trust, as you said. And this--> "Even today, we may be asked to make incredibly steep (to our earthly minds at least) sacrifices in order to cling." Lord, help us to cling in those circumstances.....to trust when it doesn't make sense or seems scary. Praise God that we can always trust that He is faithful!

Lord please forgive me of any sin that I may have done that was not pleasing to you. Help me to walk upright to your will each day and not get comfortable in any wrongdoing. Thank you for your Ultimate covenant your son Jesus Christ who come to take away the sins of the world. Great lesson Kim. This lesson shows that we must do the will of God, because there is always a punishment if we don’t. Thank you Lord for your mercy and that you still hear and forgive when we confess.

thank you so much sis Kim, we always learn so much from your studies, they encourage and uplift us so much, and gives us a greater insight into this scripture . It was so sad that 7 people had to die ,but David did what was right in the eyes of the Lord , king Saul's foolish decision had effected others lives ...wow, that had to be hard for David to make that decision, bit he still clung to God and knew it had to be done . No matter what the circumstance is ,we must cling to him always . God bless you and your family sis Kim 💕

Just curious, is there a reason you chose to use the NASB version why you study? I find that the text in this version is different in some areas according to the King James Version. For example in 2 Samuel 19 you read that Elhanon kills Goliath but scripture teaches that David is the one who kills Goliath. King James version says Elhanon kills Goliath brother.
