Jordan played the game naturally, Kobe studied and knew the game analytically. Greatest basketball mind of all time. No one knew the game better and/or could explain it better
They both studied analytically, but Kobe had the benefit of both coming the generation after Jordan and the privilege of learning directly from him. The real difference between them, though, is that Kobe was hungry enough early enough in his career to seek out and puck the brains of the best and most experienced players in the history of the league. Magic, Jordan, Reggie Miller, Hakeem. He took everything he could to gain any advantage. Jordan studied his opponents to beat them, and Kobe studied to beat his past performances
Jordans the same way, there's a reason why they say he was the perfect combination of skills and athleticism. The difference is Kobe wants to teach his craft to future generations, mj wouldn't do it unless you went to him hungry. Kobe went to him hungry and became his student. I do believe Kobe was more focused on the details than mj though.

Kobe's knowledge and basketball IQ was second to none. Whether you liked him or not, he was one of the most knowledgeable and skilled players to ever play the game!!! We miss you mamba. ❤🐍
Who didn’t like him? Easy to not like lebron, whines instead of wins
@@davidwujczyk3037 I know a lot of people who couldn't stand Kobe or Michael Jordan. I also know a lot of people who can't stand Lebron. Personally, my favorite is MJ, then Kobe, and then Lebron. I like all 3, but Lebron doesn't have that killer instinct like MJ or Kobe had. Don't get me wrong, Lebron is an amazing player, he just doesn't have that dog in him. Lebron is bigger and more powerful than MJ or Kobe was, and he's playing in a shooter's era. He should be wreaking havoc, but he's not. Can you imagine if MJ or Kobe played in this shooter's era. OMG!!! Lebron will get you to the Finals a bunch a times, but you will loose a bunch of them. Lebron 4 rings, Kobe 5 rings, MJ 6 rings. I went ahead and gave Lebron his 4th ring, even though it was a short season ring. 😅🤣😂
🎯
i don’t care what anybody says, bro is top 3 all time.
He was a great player, but definitely not top 3. His sudden death has caused many people to call him better than he actually was.
I love Kobe but this type of nonsense got to stop his not a top 3 guy
I must admit, you guys are right, he’s not Top 3, but he definitely is Top 2 you crash test dummies!
@@Ariel-2255 this guy knows what he’s talking about. as if someone genuinely replied saying his death made people think he’s better than he actually was.
@@zachellenburg5738 if you watched basketball 10-20 years ago you would know what you are on about. casual ass fan
man i miss him so much😢
Big Simple Facts R.I.P. coach MAMBA, I still can't he's gone😢😢😢.
that’s what they call a student of the game
He left nothing to chance to be the greatest player he could be. True dedication we should all admire. No longer among us, but forever an inspiration. Thanks Kobe.
Kobe, Kobe, Kobe….how the Hell do you describe this man in 1 word?
Truly impossible. He was a Rare Athlete, a Rare Human. RIP Kobe
I miss him SO MUCH 🥺
I’m a life long Lakers fan. And when Kobe died, I cried like a baby. I cried like a family member died. And to this day, I still get a lump in my throat whenever I hear about him. REST EASY, MAMBA. Much love to Gigi & the other 7 passengers too. What a horrible tragedy. It’s just not fair smh 😓✌🏾
Im a die hard Bulls fan. Hated Lakers all my life. But there was a gap in this "hate period". Kobe filled the gap. Him and his way of greatness.
What a tough player. Miss him. RIP
Kobe had only lived half of his life. He had SO much more to contribute to this world. It absolutely breaks my heart that we will never get to see it. 😔😢
I'm nothing remotely close to a basketball fan, but even I gotta respect that kind of knowledge and dedication to the sport. He was absolutely taken too soon, his daughter especially. Rest easy Gianna and Kobe
Maybe true, he still didn’t play the game as well as Jordan 🤷♂️
No ones ever studied the game with so much detail like he did
Bro this wasn't a hidden secret, our highschool coach from 2008 taught us this.
@@iaqhPeople today don't respect the fundamentals of the game. I learned this from some old dudes on the playground back in the early 80s lol.
Mj 23 and kobe both intalegend my respect
Not only a great player, but a great speaker as well. Man was a role model🙏
I don’t care much for celebrities, but it still makes me sad when I think about him being gone. We lost this man too soon.
THIS IS WHY LONGEVITY DOESN'T TELL YOU WHO THE GOAT IS.... MENTALITY MATTERS
Goat... 😂😂😂😂 In a team sport.... 😂😂😂.... Comparing guys that played 70 years apart from each other..... In a sport that changed rules numerous times throughout the last 70 years. How the hell do you compare Bob Petit or George Mikan to Ja Morant or Antetokounmpo? If we are talking "greatest" then it would havr to be the one who madr the sport most popular/relevant in its entirety... So Magic and Bird made it national and Jordan made it global. Thats where the story ends.... Who was the best? Impossible to say and a stupid thing to ask in the first place. Because basketball now and basketball in 1950 are two totally different sports....
Yes, whatever attribute your favorite player has is the one that determines whether he's the GOAT but the attribute the player you dislike has, that one doesn't matter. 🤡
@@Realyst heart doesn't matter? What about degree of difficulty? What about humility? What about the system you play in? What about stacking teams, trading all your players? Hopping from franchise to franchise? What about freethrow shooting? What about shrinking under pressure? None if that matters to you? I can keep going.
bro u delusional smh on this silly comment all this to protect the legacy of Shaq sidekick bro u hilarious blaming people for longevity like Kobe played for 10 seasons I will imagine if u got the most missed shot in nba history u most have played allot of years
@@THISISRISEyou realize kobe had absolutely no humility, won 3 of his chips on a team with SHAQ, tried forming a superteam but failed, and demanded to be traded? “Whay about free throw shooting” lol are you getting that desperate for arguments? Boy stfu😂
"Master, please teach me your ways oh master!" RIP Mamba!
I just love how you can feel everyone transfixed on what the mamba gotta show us. Learning and listening. Thats respect
Gone but *Never* forgotten.
My heart breaks every time I see him. Love you, Kobe ❤
you didn’t know him why do you care

Wise words from a legend 💜💛
I’ve never seen anyone in mankind that knows as much basketball as he does and does it in a game situation
i miss Kobe so much! ❤❤❤❤
RIP homie , such an amazing soul
It was such an honor to go to high school with Kobe Bryant it was an incredible experience
🧢
He not only played the game, he studied the hell out of it and was mastering EVERY aspect of it!
All young players need to watch videos like this. Modern videos of the best players are a luxury that older players never had. Take advantage.
The way this guy studied the game and his opponents to get any edge he could is unmatched
It was such a privilege to sit on stage with Kobe. I’ll remember this day till I day.
When you day, we all day
Facts ~ miss you a lot😢
Something so obvious can be overlooked he was obsessive he’s one of the goats
Really wish we got to see Kobe live a long life and possibly even back in the NBA as a coach or even just as a mentor. His knowledge of the game is 1 in a million
I miss him man
Just a rare breed of player. Dude soaked up every ounce of knowledge from MJ and all the film he watched. Legendary status….
He is a basketball genius man. R.I.P.💚💚💚🙏🙏🙏♥️♥️♥️🌹🌹🌹✊✊✊
Such a great player and definitely a student of the game. Rest in Paradise Kobe Bryant
i wanted to see kobe as a nba owner, coach and father. he was the best ever
Back when I played football as a kid, I was told by the coach that if you watch the hips and thighs you know exactly what they will do next. But as a kid turning that "knowledge" into performance wasn't so easy.
Kobe's brilliance was being able to both know what is going on, and implement his strategy without taking time to think on it. His tens of thousands of hours of extra practice he put in, even above what was required, is what turned knowledge into muscle memory.
My youth coach taught us to play D by watching the waist and legs. Such an underrated advice!
He understood the game more than the coaches could 😅😅
At certain point, the student becomes the teacher.
