  • Sonic Tools updated their line of ratchets to include more teeth delivering less arc-swing for more performance in tighter areas. Even with increasing the tooth-count, Sonic still kept the same strength in the ratchets. Not only the function and performance have changed. Sonic Tools upped the aesthetics game as well.
    Sonic Tools new ratchets include a 60-tooth count using a single-pawl design. The old ratchets included a single pawl 45-tooth count, but the pawl actually engaged using only one side of the pawl for each direction. Just 3 teeth would engage at a time. The new design has an 8-tooth pawl that fully engages in both directions. This allows better performance even at a higher tooth-count.
    A new elliptical-shaped handle is more comfortable and looks much better than the old round handles. The new red molding around the logo also better represents the Sonic Tools logo better than the old. The new Sonic Tools Ratchets just simply look, feel, and function better.
    You can get the ratchets by themselves or in the Sonic Foam System trays. If you haven't checked out Sonic Tools before, then you're in for a treat. You can buy a toolbox complete with tools. And, the tools come packaged in foam trays, laser-cut for each individual tool and labeled accordingly. Be sure to check out shoptoolreview... and sonictoolsusa.com

    I bought a large set 6 months ago but it came with the old ones.... I don't see the new ones on their website either. Will they swap mine out?

      Did they swap yours out? I was about to pull the trigger on the 309901 set, but the pictures on the website show the outdated 45 tooth ratchet while the pictures on Instagram show the 60 tooth ratchet.

    On the website it still shows the old style, am I missing something?

      It does indeed show the old style, however when I ordered the sample kit a week ago I received the new 60-tooth design. They must not have the updated photos yet

      @@Jedi817 I did a live chat on the sonic website and he said that they just haven't updated the pictures. He also said they are working on new designs for the flex head and extendable too

    IMO those ratchets are overpriced for that tooth count

    • @Shoptoolreviews
      @Shoptoolreviews  4 года назад +4

      As standalone units, I would see how you could think that. Most Sonic stuff is bought in kits or sets, which makes them much friendlier on the price, and you get so much more. And, I think high tooth-counts are getting overrated -- to an extent. I think 45 is too low, but getting over 90 is almost unnoticeable.

      @@Shoptoolreviews Agreed I think 90 is the sweet spot. I just think 60 is on the low side.
