You are always so good at giving understandable advice that explain how to use Family Search. I hope new people to the platform will be less nervous about using it. When you are entering your family on a shared tree that others can make changes to, I think some are hesitant to use it. When they understand how to see who has been making changes to the tree that aren't quite right, they can feel more confident about how to go about correcting any errors. I also use Legacy Family Tree 10 which is free to download with all the bells and whistles. Great video! Thanks Aimee!!
I do most of my work on Ancestry. I have cousins that are members of the church and they do most of their work on Family Search. Do you have suggestions on efficient ways that I can continue to work on Ancestry while helping to build out new branches on Family Search? I don't want to do all the work over again if I don't have to.
That’s a great question. You can put information into FamilySearch. But you’re right, it does involve manually adding it. You can look into programs like Rootsmagic. I believe it will sync in some form with Ancestry and then it will with FamilySearch. There may be some announcements at RootsTech in a month as well. That’s when those companies will announce new features so watch out for that. If I hear anything, I’ll try to get out in social media.
