  • Today I'm sharing one of my favorite parts of our homeschool organization - our homeschool cart! This cart has been great for homeschool curriculum organization. Of all the homeschool room organization ideas I've seen as I've researched homeschool tips, this has definitely been one of the more helpful tips for homeschooling in our house! I think it's an especially great option for homeschool organization for small spaces! The concept is simple, but it's made our homeschooling organization so much easier than it was before. I love looking to others for homeschool room ideas, so I hope this is helpful to you! Do you have any homeschool organization hacks that you love?

    First, you are so fun to watch! Our area was a 6ft table behind the couch in the family room. The couch is pushed out from the wall with the table behind it and still room for a bookcase behind that against the wall. I was fairly happy back there but we took a break from school and it got turned into a craft area and is a mess and school stuff went everywhere. Thus I found your video LOL I was looking for organization help. I see a few videos with the carts and I think I love them. I only have one granddaughter that is eight that I am homeschooling. You definitely have a new subscriber and I've already seen other videos that I'm going to have to catch up on thank you so much

    I am a convert this year too! My daughter was starting kindergarten fall 2020 and we decided to homeschool. I absolutely fell in love with it and already have some curriculum for next year. 😆❤️

    Our homeschool room is our third bedroom, which we also use as an office/sewing room. I have white wire drawers from IKEA in the closet that I had been storing fabric in and a cube shelf with baskets in there as well. All of their individual workbooks go into plastic magazine holders which fit on the cube shelf. The wire drawers hold chalkboards, white boards, tracing boards, school boxes, math boards and manipulatives. I like the carts, but I'm glad I can fit everything in that closet and close it off when I want to use the room to work in. I did have to find new homes for all of my fabric though!

    Looks great! We have a cart and use it solely for crafting/art supplies. It sits in our living room for my young kids to have access to. The most AMAZING part is that it's on wheels so I can push it into the bedroom when friends come over to play and I don't want EVERYONE to have access to it. 😅

      I have this same cart that we use as an art cart too! We also wheel it away when friends come! My 3/5/7 year olds have access to art supplies in the summer and are solely responsible for cleaning it up. It’s been great for them creatively and also for learning responsibility.

      @@lindseybuhl762 Yes! It has been great! My youngest (2.5yo) learned how to do things that I don't think my oldest learned till she was late 3, early 4. Haha (such as cutting with scissors, using glue, holding a pencil/marker correctly). I love their freedom of creativity as well:)

    I love to use dice and dominos for math! My five year old practices adding with them and my two year old practices counting. It adds an element of fun to it because they love to roll the dice and set up the dominos each time 🙂

    We've been homeschooling for 5 years now and have 4 kids so we have a rainbow drawer system for each kid (minus the 4yo) where they use a drawer for each subject. We have tried some other systems but this works best for us!

      @TheHomeschoolConvert  3 года назад +1

      That’s awesome! Glad you found a good system for your family! The cart works for my two, but I’d probably need more carts or a different system if I had more kids!

    I have a cart like that for our art supplies. I bought an Iris Case Cart for curriculum. My 10 yr old has ADHD...too many things in one place is overwhelming for her. We've just gotten it but is working well for us so far. After last year, I knew organization was the key for this year!

    Welcome to the world of homeschooling!! We are in our 7th year. Its an amazing ride for sure. I love how, even though its new for you, how comfortable with homeschooling you seem. You talk like you have done it forever. Looks like you will do great. We use a cart as well, but for us, it mostly is used for storage now. We have gone from "school at home", to a more relaxed "classroom", to desks in our sunroom, to work at our dining room table to just schooling in our living room....🤣🤣 Ive found our cart just isnt needed much now. It holds some art supplies and notebooks but that is about it. Before long, we will prob be doing school on the living room floor and wont need any storage....lol

    We do something similar with each kid having 2 bins for their stuff in the school room and then I have a morning basket for all our group stuff. Buuuuttt, I’m on the lookout for a cart to keep in our dining room. I think it would help to have things handy where we do most of our school work! Yours looks well organized!

    The cart is great to store away items and keep off your main table. Having everything in one place saves time too.
    A homeschool cart was #1 on of list of things to get and I didn't purchase it because I doubt it would fit our needs. We use clip boards each week and put away our curriculum books until I need it.

    We have a cart as well! Top shelf is similar to yours with curriculum, middle shelf is manipulatives and writing tools, bottom shelf is art supplies because our kids love impromptu art time. Next year, we’re going to have one whole cart dedicated to art supplies and then another for daily schooling. Loving your channel!

    I actually gave my teal cart to my MIL who is homeschooling her two youngest still. I think she loves it but for us I just couldn’t get into using it. I shifted it from a laundry cart to toddler/ art cart to breast pump cart and tried very briefly to use as a curriculum cart before giving away. I keep ours in a magazine file next to the dining table which makes for easy grab and go.

Wrapping up our first year of kindergarten and looking forward to next year. Blessings to you and your family.

    The cart is a fantastic upgrade from the overflowing bin sitting in my dining room 🤣 The top shelf holds her everyday curriculum, pencils jar, white board. Second is for the extra "classes"; currently our Oceans unit study, spelling journal, devotionals, poppers to keep her hands busy, play money, clock and math games. The 3rd is for fun craft supplies.
    Loving your channel!

    We have two carts, and I've recently realized how they don't really serve a purpose because they're not organized with the things that really should be portable and easy to bring to the table. I've already started on one, and hope to get the other one done soon. It looks like you've got yours under control :).

    Just found your channel last night, we homeschooled our 7th grader last year. Previously he attended a Waldorf school and this year I will be adding in our 4 year old. I may try to get this cart but how does everyone know how and what level to teach? I would love to see how families plan for it

    • @TheHomeschoolConvert
      @TheHomeschoolConvert  3 года назад +1

      The great thing about homeschooling is you can adjust levels of things to best suit your children’s needs. Many curricula have placement tests you can take advantage of. I did not utilize these to their full extent when I was a brand new homeschooler preparing for last year, but they’ve definitely been helpful this year.
