They seem to be working on a sizeable patch for SotE at the moment, so there is still a chance they may make some changes to the fight. Hope you find this useful in the meantime. Looking forward to following that build and I hope they don't touch PCR only thing that needs a nerf is that god awful Triple Slash. However since you didn't mention in the video that the boss will get nerf that you know of, I am going to assume they won't touch him.
He's far better than Leda's ganksquad. I had the misfortune of dealing with Leda's 5-men team with only Ansbach at my side on my first playthrough of the DLC.

You are a lifesaver! This is my 3rd time fighting this boss, but I am finding ng+7 absolutely BRUTAL against him (I also finished base game on this run)
I was fighting Brother Boyfriend Radahn at level 133 and level 12 blessing, and was having a hard time. I was using a Great Katana, and eventually switched to using a Wakizashi in the off hand to parry and do quick attacks. It fit the theme, and I thought it would be funny to have mismatched katanas. With the normal parry, I was having trouble consistently parrying the faster attacks, especially in phase two. So I after a while, I settled into dodging the fast attacks and parrying the slow ones I knew I could consistently parry. Particularly, that quick attack with the really slow follow up he usually does after you parry him once. When he does the follow up, he brings his right elbow down in front for a really easy parry window. Whenever he did it, I would think to myself, "Gimme Those Elbows, Those Elbows Belong To Me!"

4:26 afaik, your position isn't what determines the follow up. If he retreats and does the lion's claw without slamming the weapons to the ground in the startup, then he can't follow up at all. If he does it from far away, and slams the weapons, then he might follow up (he usually does if you input a rolling attack) 6:00 alternatively, dodge the 1st and 2nd into him, the 3rd and 4th with a single dodge into him, the 5th into the side and the final into him. 7:00 alternatively, keep running back. The rocks will despwan and you can heal while the 4 clones hit, and dodge the 5th real Radahn. 7:35 you can block the clones as they deal low damage and stamina damage.
@@ASmashedPumpkin7 yeah it's surprisingly effective. Tbh, most people won't try considering that the other boss with clones (Malenia) deals so much damage with the clones, so you won't expect the harder boss to have weaker clones.
This is actually my favorite boss in the whole DLC lol I'd probably rate him lower if I couldn't parry him, but deflecting is also an extremely satisfying way to fight him. Idk, every other boss felt kinda solved to me once I learned them, but with Consort Radahn I always feel like I have to be on top of my game and focused to get the win. I never feel like there isn't an answer to something and that makes the fight very skillful and rewarding. I will concede that he was hard to learn though, and the terrain is absolute garbage lol. Anyways, I had NO IDEA this God Parry was a thing, so thank you for bringing this to my attention o7
Damn helpful video :O I know some folks who apparently looked at some of the software itself, and tell me the game has built in randomly added buffer timers to your actions, and to the actions of enemies, meaning there is going to be variance sometimes on when an attack may hit you, or when you say initiate a roll of parry just as you demo there where one correct parry works, and one correct parry fails. Seen it thousands of times by now for instance on console (doing a PC playthrough now away from home) when you see an attack in coming, you know you can roll forward at say 10 o clock, and get behind them. I hit the O button, and my character doesnt do anything and gets hit (or on rare occasions rolls after getting hit :P) because the button push failed to initiate (I have three new controllers and see nit on all of them). I have had it happen when initiating spam rolls, or as I correctly land a parry or block, or a get in to the right frame of a roll, and I get tracked and hit anyways right through it. Its like a built in cheat the game provides, but not only for enemies, but I have mistimed rolls, blocks and parries, just to watch a major attack just pass right through me, time and again when I ought to have been hit and killed. Doesnt happen a lot, but it happens enough and I am convinced the game deliberately adds variance in to timing of enemy actions, and my own inputs. Not to Consort yet, but this video I will be studying CLOSE lol. I have friends now on over 200 tries on this guy and no wins yet.

I'm a nutcase who actually thinks Miquella is misunderstood by most and who actually came to love this fight by the end (of 12 hours at least). Figuring out how to parry phase 2 was a game changer for me and I'm glad to see I wasn't off. If it werent for the weird mechanics and hit boxes, this fight would be incredible. Keep your sanity, dude. You're doing Shaman work for us!

I honestly don’t know whether it’s 100% consistent, but the way I dodge the meteors close range for his second phase is to run left and jump the meteors, but then switch to running right for the slams. He seems to alter his trajectory a little if you run left first.
Thank fuck! So far I've managed to stagger him with parries once and I was so surprised I missed the riposte. Dodging left has ended with death on the left.
What a hero, and what timing! I've been stuck in here with him for about 10 hours now lol. Me and my stubbornness of beating him "fair" and square. This is very helpful!
If you just wanna beat him, not necessarily doing a RL1 or other challenge run, I recommend putting carian retalliation on a medium shield with 100% phys block and high guard boost, like the Brass Shield or Messmer Soldier Shield (my new fave, really dig the aesthetic). Having a good shield that you can just hold up against some of the most bullshit moves is a literal (or maybe virtual?) life saver. For example, against the phase two meteor attack, just jump the meteor as usual and then hold your shield up to the light clone thingies. After the 4th connects with your shield, roll the real Radahn, and then roll the ground wave. So much less stressful.
Actually, I just realised the Messmer Soldier Shield only requires 10 Strength for some reason, so you could wield it as an RL1 character even without Godrick's Rune or other Strength-boosting items. Wild. I imagine stamina would be much more of a concern tho.
@@LuciferLuckless That's why you use the deflect tear so you can perfect block and take almost no stamina reduction. Still requires some learning but it makes this strat easy enough even at RL1
@@crumpet-kunlol I think the point of the original comment was to have an easier way to deal with this attack instead of running. Learning the exact deflect timings is clearly more difficult than both guarding or running away!
For "The One Where He does This", it is possible to roll away from the stalagmites while next to him with three perfectly timed rolls to not take damage from the AOE. I fought Consort Radahn so many times, I somehow ended up pulling it off multiple times, including one where I did it to both AOEs in his second phase. Of course, I have no idea of the timing to do so, I was operating purely on instinct by then.
Its kind of wild to me that they gave us some of the highest quality bosses we've ever seen from fromsoft in this dlc (messmer, rellana, midra, bayle) and then they just completely fumbled the bag with radahn. Goofy ahh bossfight. But hey, at least it has a banger OST I guess. Also, Messmer parry guide next 👀
Bayle's fight is very dramatic and is the definition of an epic fight, but he has insane visual clutter, specifically in his 2nd phase. I always found it odd how people were mentioning visual clutter for radahn but rarely for Bayle 🧐
@amka5306 idk man, I never really felt the visual clutter on bayle, even though I agree that his fight is super dramatic. The thing I love about bayle though, in contrast to Consort Radahn, is that Bayle's moveset is a really fun one to master and once you get good at the fight, bayle becomes one of the most fun bosses in Elden ring. Can't say the same for Consort Radahn though, since mastering his fight has only made me hate it slightly less than before. It just becomes a left roll simulator with very few openings to use any attack besides an R1. It's wild to me how the final boss of Elden ring has basically zero jump attack openings, considering how useful of a tool jumps are in most other ER bosses
Legit feels just unfinished. Stuff like the triple slash being a frametrap feels like a glaring omission in the usual playtesting standards, ditto Metyr's dumb laser. If some random dungeon miniboss had these attacks nobody would care or notice, probably, but having it on the big final bosses is rather shocking.
@jackkendall6420 fr I was a expecting a slave knight gael 2.0 typa fight. Messmer is far, FAR more worthy of being Gael's successor than Consort Radahn.

I will say that the hitboxes could be better but I have yet to see anyone actually get hit with a bullshit hitbox. They usually dodge the attacks pretty well.

Amazing guide.. I know I'm late but didn't manage to buy and play the game earlier. Most impressive is definitely the clone parry. Only thing close coming to my mind is parrying the jump attack of Gwyn in DS1.. and I managed that back then. Last night I died 30 times with rarely finding a safe window for a hit, all confidence gone, today I beat him in my second attempt.. first phase close combat with some successful parry, second phase half cheese with iron golem smith and heal from afar, and some ranged attacks, phase 2 is just too overwhelming for me. Anyway, it's done, next time phase 2 without cheese.. lol
At 7:30 for the meteor attack dive clone there is a way that works for me. Basically if you get hit by the first clone and spam roll the second one will still hit you but it will put you in the righy time to dodge the rest of the attack. Idk if its possible with all the equip load range as i fight very light and i still need to test if it work with all the short distances but if you are gonna die you might as well try.
day 2 of asking for a midra parry guide for absolute beginners (despite already being decent at parrying, i just think he is THE boss to learn parrying from because of how gorgeous and beautifully choreographed his attacks are)
Once I continuously parried more than 4 of his attacks then he did that fast clone attack and I was hyped up and actually parried this attack also, I have no idea how I thought that running from all the clones and parry the real one will work but that really felt like I won the fight because I never thought someone has done that before 😂
“Mohg was a better boss” 😂 very true. I can barely make it past the first phase, parrying him is proving more difficult than any other boss I’ve went against.
Love your videos, but I don't think I've had one time that the phase 2 meteor clones don't spawn right on top of me and stun lock into a 4-5 hit death. On this footage they're all half a field away, and it doesn't make sense.

Clone Double can be parried! Roll the first clone toward Radahn, then press parry. If your first roll was timed correctly, you should get the parry

Update, just beat him! Feels like I just had to get a run where he didn't spam the Fast Clone attack. That one was really messing me up.
