    Too many critics, my God, watch and learn. If you would do it differently perhaps you should not be here, make your own video and let us see your work. There has never been a statue made honoring a critic, shut your pie hole if you can't say something nice.

    Great video, Vail. Your ideas are great, extra little noises did not bother me at all. In fact your voice was very soft and pleasant. I watched the entire thing, with no skips.

    Hi, it's really nice and useful videos. One question: do you use manual or auto focus mode? And if it is auto, what setting do you use (wide angle focused or face recognition focus,etc). I am really new with the photography, just got entry level dslr camera + newborn. Can't wait to see your answer 😊 Thanks in advance

      Enny, great question. I use auto focus. I have a feeling you are using your camera in live view (using the great big screen) instead of the viewfinder (what you put your eye up to). I have the autofocus in single shot/af-s mode and single point selection so I can determine exactly what I want the camera to focus on instead of it just picking the point closest to the camera. What model camera are you using?

    • @jktenny
      @jktenny 5 лет назад

      @@VailFucci-Photographer thank you for the answer. I've got Nikon D3400 with 18-105mm + prime 50mm f:1.8 lenses. Yes I often use life view because I found it easy, but not all the times. How about if the baby move a lot, do you still using the AF'-S? or AF-C? I don't really understand the difference.

      Enny Frans camera manual should explain the difference between the two pretty well. Google or other RUclips videos as well.

    Thank you for this very helpful video. You said to start off using aperture priority or manual but text on the video said to use shutter priority so I’m a little confused.

    • @penngirl03
      @penngirl03 5 лет назад

      If your baby is asleep and not moving at all, then aperture priority will be more helpful. But if the baby is awake and moving then shutter priority is a better choice if you don't know how to do manual mode yet.

    Hey Vail Fucci! I am learning so much from these videos! Would it be best to use AI servo or single focus (AF-C or AF-S) capturing these types of images?

    • @VailFucci-Photographer
      @VailFucci-Photographer  6 лет назад +1

      Nathan McConnell for a little baby like this they aren’t moving around very quickly. So AF-S is what you want to use.

    I would use the parents hand or finger instead of yours when holding the hand.

      I completely agree. This video is aimed at parents taking photos of their own children. It is not meant for professional newborn photographers to learn from.

    But seriously what’s going on in the background noise. That baby is very unhappy....

    • @VailFucci-Photographer
      @VailFucci-Photographer  5 лет назад +1

      Poopy Pants unfortunately my own daughter, who at the time was about a year older than her cousin we were photographing, was not very happy that she was not part of the shoot and did not want to take her nap and made that very apparent. I didn’t think the camera would catch it...but clearly it did ;)

    I am I the only one who gets crazy by hearing that baby screaming in the background. So much distraction

    If you cant properly hold a camera you shouldn't be teaching

      PhotoNationAP I am not sure where you are seeing that in the video. But if you view my video here ruclips.net/video/wsaIsAmBXZM/видео.html it indicates how to hold the camera properly.

    Great advice but you shouldn't smack so much it makes me not wanna watch

    • @andrethomas9020
      @andrethomas9020 6 лет назад +2

      Courtney Dalke I totally agree!! I'm not into posting negative comments on people's video only helpful ones as the comment above. Your content is great, but especially for persons watching the video with headphones the smacking of the lips and mouth and loud breaths while inhaling are very distracting. I stopped the video at 6 minutes and scrolled down through the comments to see if anyone else noticed what I noticed it and yes they did. So this is in no way to put down your effort, really enjoy your videos. But if you pay attention to that one detail you'll get alot more subscribers etc. Either drink lots of water before, or edit them out. They really are highly aggravating to the point of the them being unbearable to listen to while you speak because you do it constantly every few seconds unconsciously.

    • @courtneygorniak4297
      @courtneygorniak4297 6 лет назад

      Andre Thomas yes I learned nothing in only focused on the smacking I couldn't do it. Anxiety through the roof

    • @VailFucci-Photographer
      @VailFucci-Photographer  6 лет назад

      Andre Thomas thank you so much for letting me know. It is definitely an unconscious thing. I have noticed it in other videos and when I can I edit it out. For a video this long it was just too hard to edit them all out. The water suggestion is a great idea. Thank you very much. I will try that next time I shoot a video.

      @fliptight 5 лет назад

      Vail Fucci maybe a shotgun mic on the camera rather than a lapel mic (that will pick up every little noise) would fix the issue. I imagine it’s hard to get rid of a lifelong unconscious habit.
