  • Bushwrapz Advance - paint protection Film PPF
    It’s no secret that our y62 patrol is the most expensive 4wd we have ever owned. With this in mind I wanted to look after it and keep it new for as long as possible. This is why we decided that we were going to clear wrap the outside to protect the paint.
    I came across Bushwrapz towards the later years of the old Fortuner, but already being too far gone I decided not to bother with attempting to save the paint. With the brand spanking new Patrol however, something needed to be done to prolong the inevitable damage from 4wding.
    What is Bushwrapz? It is paint protection film or PPF. It also has self-healing properties that get rid of scratches in the sun or with added heat.
    There are a few different levels of Bushwrapz, we went with the mid-range Advance kit. This is a Pre-cut DIY kit. The Bushwrapz Advance comes with a 5 year warranty, and offers good tear resistance and self-healing.
    Wrapping a vehicle is something that I wouldn’t have thought I could do myself at home. But it was surprisingly easy. Check out the video to see how simple it is.
    If you are looking for the best in paint protection for your 4wd definitely check out bushwrapz.com.au and see how they can protect your 4wd.

    just a tip if you do this again, when pulling the PPF off of the backing sheet spray your slip solution on the PPF as you peel it off, because the PPF has got a lot of static and it love sucking crap onto it, especially with a white car, the crap shows up alot

    Nice one.
    If it's anything like window tint it is best to wet the outside of the film as you squeegee it to help the squeegee slide. 👍

    • @HappyGoTravel
      @HappyGoTravel  3 года назад

      The squeegee has a soft felt on it. It did end up wet. It seemed to slide easy either way though

      definatly makes it easier to squeegee the PPF onto the car and with the bushwraps material if it creases while you squeegeeing it will leave a line

    Great work, I bought magnetic protection but it won't stay on my car and kept losing panels so I will go down this path also. Thanks for the video. 👌

    Here 2 years later, checking how it's holding up. Have the parts of the panels not covered faded/worn different to the parts covered with the film?

    Did you ever used throttle controller device such as Idrive or sprint booster? I want to know your opinion on it is worth or not and i think it’s going to be a great idea for a video.

    • @HappyGoTravel
      @HappyGoTravel  3 года назад

      Hey mate, I did run a I drive in the old rig. It is obviously no extra power. I use to run it on auto mode and found it really good from a throttle sensitivity point of view. I will eventually install some form of throttle controller in this it just hasn’t been high on my list as this has a heap more power and torque. But in saying that definitely keen to see how it performs in something that already has heaps of get up and go.

    Hey mate was looking at installing some of these. How are they going and any issues with it?

    • @HappyGoTravel
      @HappyGoTravel  2 года назад +1

      Hey mate they are definitely worth it. I’ve had no issues. Every new car I get from here on will have them. If you look at my greens break road vid I absolutely punished them and they have no scratches on them now. I force healed one with some heat. I can’t recommend them enough ✌️

    Just wondering how the film is holding up, does it help when someone accidently or carelessly opens a door and hits the door with film on it will it somehow protect from chips or minor dents

    • @HappyGoTravel
      @HappyGoTravel  2 года назад +1

      It’s awesome, I hit it with heat and dissolved a big scratch after my watagans trip. Very impressed. It’ll definitely protect from scratches and chips. Dents not so much

    • @HappyGoTravel

      No. the stuff from the dealer is normally a form of ceramic coating. This is a film stuck on
