- The Supreme Court's decision on the quo warranto case against Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno would be more acceptable to the people if it is well grounded in law and not seen as politically driven, ex-chief justice Reynato Puno said.

This "Quo Warranto" precedence is technically, categorically and legally good for the SC. It will weed out undesirable and avoid presidential appointee's from skirting the JBC requirements !

To be clear, there was no skirting because a CJ could not be appointed as chief unless s/he is endorsed by the JBC. The fact that one’s name is submitted means that s/he complied with the requirements.

Karen should specify her question, and rephrase it to wit. could a supreme court boot out an illegally seated CJ? that would be more clear I suppose. Seremo should be punished for putting the Supreme Court in this situation, embarrassment no end.

If it is needed to remove a CJ for not complying to the Gov't requirement by appointment from a President who is a party. She should resign, the Supreme court name is not good, we cannot trust the SC if the chief itself is not filing SALN..

She not even a CJ because she is not qualified. Hence the quo warranto, since her appointment is in question. SALN are just administrative if your are a law abiding citizen, otherwise it is very difficult to submit Pag may income ka na gusto mo di makita.
Hindi na encounter ang Quo Warrant noon kc yung mga nasa pwesto non ay sumusunod sa mga requirements bago sila mag apply ng trabaho.
An incoming Chief Justice should be honest enough to comply with all the requirements of her appointment so that he/she will not be impeach or be remove by quo warranto.

This a former chief justice of supreme court. Very prudent and discreet in his response to Karen Davila line of questioning. He is one the best chief justice of SC I believed. Ex. chief just Puno has a demeanor far from that of Sereno

implications. dapat yun nag aapoint sa cj dapat nasa matinong pag iisip. at yun screening body like jbc nag validate ng matino. ibig sabihin. itong c sereno ang aapoint ni pinoy kahit incomplete ng requirements. nakakahiya ang ginawa ng jbc.pinoy at sereno kahit mali ginawa p rin yun gusto nila. kawawa yun others cj aspirants.
I think katayuan ng jbc-- they were pressured kasi nong time na yun si pnoy ang pres. Kung baga wala silang magagawa kasi mandated by pres. Pero kung totoosin-- dapat firm and just si jbc when it comes to this matter..

Karen is dilaw clear an simple pres. has the right to choice a CJ. The law of the land is the most powerful than other in term of law. Kay si cerano dhi xa pinapakialan kung xa ay loyal sa saligan batas. Why? She didn't submit their SALN as required by law of being a CJ. My tinatago xa na ndi alam ng publiko and thats betrayal of public trust. Ndi aman xa pinapaki alaman kung lahat ng sinasaad sa batas upang maging CJ ay sinabmit nya. Ang QUO WARRANTO nayan ay wala. Tama lang ang decision ng sc. Sereno is not fit to be a cj. I have a very high respect to the 8 justices of the sc who voted to oust sereno. Karen davila has always been bias a duterte all the way. Talo na naman siya.
