Fun fact, the character in the wheelchair was played by Tom McBride, a gay icon of the New York party scene at that time. He passed away from AIDS, unfortunately, a few years after this film. There is a documentary about him I've always wanted to see but was never able to track down.
My theory is Jason saw his mother killed so he asked the devil to return to avenge her. If course that comes with a price he is immortal but can never die and will be a zombie forever
She survived by being the only character (except the old guy) who thought about Jason Voorhees for more than 10 seconds. Good on her. That is the best moment in this film and a good follow-up to the first one.
I love that prankster boy survives this whole affair by going to an after hours bar. This is one of the few examples of how partying and binge drinking can save your life:) Seriously though it defies expectations and all the horror tropes, because you think he’s totally gonna get it:)
Fun Facts about Part 2 1. Alice (Adrienne King) improvised all her lines in the beginning scene. Part 2 producers and director wanted King to come back in a more robust role however Adrienne King got a stalker because of the first film and King just did not have the energy to portray another full movie as Alice. 2. Mark Jarvis was portrayed by the late Tom McBride. He was the one in the wheelchair. Pay special attention to Mark's last name, as you will hear that name more as the franchise continues to release movies. McBride, in real life was gay, and he sadly passed away in 1995. Vickie Perry was portrayed by Lauren-Marie Taylor and in interviews Taylor stated that she and McBride felt extremely uncomfortable with kissing. 3. Stuart Charno who portrayed Ted Bowen, the guy that stayed at the bar when Ginny and Paul left, is indeed gay. During filming, he asked producers and directors to keep his sexuality out of the movie. Many have surmised Ted's character was bisexual/pansexual, making him the first character in a horror movie to be from the LGBT community. Additionally, Charno also demanded his character to survive if he was going to be in the movie. 4. As you stated, Ginny (Amy Steel) is a very popular final girl and reviewers have stated she was one of the best final girls. Fangoria has ranked her in the top 10 and they have ranked her alongside the likes of Nancy Thompson, Laurie Strode, and Alice Hardy. 5. Ginny (Amy Steel) did the majority of her own stunts. 6. When asked whether Paul lived or died at the end of Part 2, it is heavily implied by directors and producers that he did die. 7. Just like the end of the first movie, the end of the 2nd movie is more of a dream sequence. Jason's look will further change during later movies. Do not take what he looks like now in Part 2 as the end all to be all looks.
@willfanofmanyii3751 a lot of this is up in the air, but Paul's lack of appearance of when Ginny was on a stretcher implies his ending wasn't a good one.
@@stevenambrose6266 That's my point, neither film creates a situation for him to have died. Paul carries Ginny out of the shack and back to the camp, while Jason pries the machete out of his shoulder and flees the area before the police arrive. Someone called the police and led them to the shack. Plus the news listed Ginny as a survivor, rather than the "only" or "sole" survivor. Even the body count on the news is short one if Paul was killed.
@willfanofmanyii3751 you are overthinking this. It was traumati, whomever survived. We only know from part 3 that Ginny wS loaded Ina stretcher. Newscasts mentions her as a lone survivor. She was very traumatized. Paul didn't survive. She hallucinated Paul's survival. I am even question hin coming into cabin.
When the original "Friday the 13th" (1980) was released, I believe that Jason didn't exist. Because the film did so well at the box office, the producers had to figure out a way to continue the franchise. While completely implausible, bringing Jason back from the "dead" would create an iconic and immortal slasher villain and start a decades long franchise! Fans debate whether or not the opening scene with Alice is a dream. I mean, how did Jason really find her house? Nevertheless, Amy Steel as Ginny is one of the best final girls in the series! I look forward to your reactions to "Part 3" when Jason finds his hockey mask.
I always took the opening to be real as its confirmed in Paul's campfire story that Alice disappeared and there was blood everywhere. I feel Alice came back to Crystal Lake to confront her demons, in the first movie she is talking to Steve Christy and says that she may need to go back to California to straighten something out and at the end in the hospital the Sheriff says her folks are on the way up so it shows she is not a local but the phone conversation she has with her mother indicates that she is doing something that worries her parents and is away from home. As for Jason finding out where she lives, if she returned to Crystal Lake it would have definitely been the talk of the town. All it would have taken was for Jason to overhear the townspeople talking about her when he snuck into town to steal clothes/food or other supplies. The conversation could have been something as simple as "Hey did you hear, that counselor girl that killed Pamela is back." "Really?" "Yeah she's renting the house over on .... street" From there all he would have to do is walk over and watch the street to see which house she was staying in. Another bit of trivia regarding why Allice was killed off so early is originally the filmmakers intended for Alice to kind of become like a Laurie Strode character for the series but unfortunately after the release of the first movie Adrienne King who plays Alice developed a stalker who was obsessed with her character. She lived in New York City at the time, and he used to slip photos he had taken of her under her apartment door, and she used to find then between the menus that restaurants used to slip under people's doors back then. This freaked her out (rightfully so) and made her so uncomfortable that she basically pulled out of the sequel.
@@dorray7850 I actually don't disagree with anything you said, and Adrienne King has spoken publicly about her stalker and why she not only did not want to continue with the "Friday the 13th" franchise, but she also retreated from acting altogether. I do believe that the original intent was to kill off the character of Alice, and for decades, I think fans and audiences accepted this to be true. However, in recent years, with so many different takes on the characters from these films (comics, fan films, etc.), I think the fans WANT to see Alice return from the grave (just like Jason, LOL), and just like in a good soap opera, reasons can be given to explain why a character did not actually die, even though the evidence clearly shows the opposite. LOL
Ginny (Amy Steel) is my favorite final girl of all time!!! This and she stars in "April Fool's Day" too. Tom McBride who played Mark (in the wheel chair) was a gay actor who died of AIDS. There is a documentary about him.
Fun facts - when Betsy Palmer (Pamela Voorhes) first read the script for "Friday The 13th," her actual response was "What a piece of s*it!" ... She only took the role because they offered her $10,000 and the only reason why she eventually accepted the role was her car had just broke down and the money was how much a new car she wanted was worth. She was asked to reprise Pamela for "Freddy Vs Jason" but she declined. Adrienne King (Alice) was supposed to have a bigger role in the sequel, but she was being stalked and that's why she was killed off in the opening scene. If you watched the US version of "Queer As Folk," then you recognize Paul (John Furey) as Justin's homophobic father. Russell Todd (Scott) appeared as a contestant on "The Price Is Right" during Drew Carey's run as host. He made it up onto the stage, but was eliminated at the Showcase Showdown. Tom McBride (Mark) was an openly gay man, who appeared on many billboards as "The Marlboro Man."
Just in time for June 13th, Jason's birthday. Also, the sequence with Jason jumping out of the lake was a nightmare Alice had. The real Jason was watching from far away when Alice killed his mother.
Adrienne King and Amy Steel are two of my favorite horror actresses! I got to meet both of them years ago and they were so wonderful! Professional and elegant... such awesome girls!
You're instinct about the mother's head was right. They shot several versions of the ending where the mother's head opened its eyes and smiled, but the director thought they looked too comical, or silly, so they scrapped the idea. Plus, I think I remember reading that all shots of those scenes were lost in a fire a few years later, a shame, it would have been cool to see them on collector's edition's of the film.
I wonder if they're not lost The extended gore deaths were also taught to be lost, But someone in the crew saved them and had them without telling anyone
Steve Dash played Jason Voorhees in the majority of this film except for a few shots - one of em being the window crash at the end in which Warrington Gillette (who took all the credit until he was exposed as a liar) did as unmasked Jason Voorhees. Being the very first Jason Voorhees as the killer meant a whole new world to him despite gaining a few injuries - concussion on back of his head, broken ribs and a sliced-open middle finger. Dash was offered to come back for Friday the 13th Part 3 but he turned it down due to commitments with a soap opera called Guiding Light (Kevin Bacon was a member of the show’s cast at the time). Had he not turn it down, he would’ve done all 11th (or less) Friday the 13th films like Robert Englund who was Freddy Krueger in all of the Nightmare on Elm Street films (including Freddy Vs Jason). If you're looking for more Amy Steele (who played Ginny), she's also in the original April Fool's Day (1986), a movie full of queens. #JusticeForMark
FX artist Tom Savini thought it would be a good idea to add a jump scare to the ending of the original. It was all a jump scare and a dream sequence for Alice.
*The guy in the wheelchair was actually gay in real life. There's a documentary of him living with AIDS. Sadly, he didn't make it, but he's forever immortilized in this great movie.*
Yall commentary be having me so dead lol this is one of my favorite jason movies. 3, 4, 6 and 7 was the best ones out of the franchise I am so glad you you guys reacted to this! 😊 I love y'all ❤
When you get to next movie, Friday the 13th part 3, remember that it was originally in 3D. There was a trend in the early '80s where the 3rd movie in a series was in 3D. So if you wonder why there are weird shots in the movie where things are really close to the camera..this is why.
Tom McBride who played Mark the guy in the wheelchair was openly gay. He passed away I think in 1995 from AIDS. At one time I think he was the Marlboro Man. SO handsome. Russell Todd was also easy on the eyes. They call Friday the 13th Part 7 the gay Friday because most of the male cast were gay. Including Kevin Blair (Spirtas).
To be fair lots of people didnt lock their doors back then. This film was made back in the 80s so thats probably why she didn't lock the door right when she got home or before taking a shower. There is even tons of people that would just leave their door open throughout the day even up until it gets dark outside then most would just leave the door open but the screen door shut.
* Fun horror history time * (bonus) * The final girl curse* t was sad Alison's character was killed off first, from what I can remember Alison was suppose to be the final girl again, but the actress was dealing with some crazy fan stalker from the previous film, as well as something else So she quit acting for a while and so her part was a cameo. but had that not happened, the character whose the final girl in part 2 would have obviously been alison. but since it didnt happen they had to change the script abit. the whole death scene i think was another dream sequence . alison would of seen a theraphist ( and we all know how bad therapists are in films) they dont believe the danger or encourage to face the danger and thats what the theraphist suggests Alison signs up for a camp counsiler job, everything and then the script converts to what we see in the film. * Story of the final girl curse* it's also kinda funny because all the actresses who were the final girl in the future jason movies never replayed their role. in part threee there was a hospital sequence with the new final girl but something was going on with her. and then in part 4 the sister was suppose to be the actress who played the final girl in part three but something happened with her. we get a final boy with Tony Jarvis but through history of the friday the 13th film no final girl ever returned to my knowledge except in a flash back like two and three did and alison's cameo which makes me wonder if the films curse to not have a final girl character return .
You guys cracked me up. I was laughing about the shit brown knickers lol and the whole he's humiliated by going down the stairs lol. Bring on Part 3....quickly. love from Essex, England
I can't imagine the actual Petty Pumpkin Mom's just watching their videos. Petty Pumpkins: she is Mother! The Petty Pumpkin Mothers: No, we gave birth to you. We are your mother's. 😂
Thanks again for this reaction (and the commentary)..... FYI......the hot guy in the wheelchair was in fact gay in "real" life and unfortunately passed away from aids in the late 80s. Sad Looking forward to more reactions........AND commentary! " Ticks and dicks........brilliant...and TRUE
Pamela was unable to watch Jason because she was the camp's cook and had only the camp counselors to watch Jason so she killed them for revenge because she thought her son drowned, but Jason ended up surviving, living on the other side of the lake in the woods where he continued to grow into an adult eventually witnessing Pamela getting decapitated, leading into the second movie. So Alice was indeed hallucinating at the end of the first movie.
So, Pamela Voorhees started her killing spree to avenge the death of Jason. Then Jason starts killing sprees to avenge her... He isn't an undead monster yet, so I guess we can assume he almost died as a child, which drove Pamela insane, and her psychosis made her believe he was dead? 🤔 Whether she raised him in a disassociate state or he raised himself isn't clear.
If you guys like Betsy Palmer, you should check out an episode of I've Got A Secret. She was on the panel of that show for years, in the late 50s-late 60s. She was gorgeous, and it was a really fun show. There are lots of episodes on RUclips.
*edit to last post* Thank you, thank you for agreeing about poor Mark! That guy didn't deserve that death, he was a vulnerable target couldn't run or have a chance at all. I wished he and the other girl had made it maybe some sort f horror movie miracle where he knows the girl is in trouble and some sort of adrenaline in his brain triggers with his determination and his legs begin working and he saves the day. That and Jason should of been sympathetic i mean he was probably treated like crap by the other kids at camp (as it showed in freddy vs jason and they just laughed at him while he drowned) you'd think jason would have given this guy mercy because he too is in a situation of being judged and possibly bullied for his disability.
The scene where the couple are on the bed getting it on before Jason impales them was actually gonna be a bit more graphic in terms of nudity but it was changed as the actress was only 17 at the time which is a big no no.
Ginny's best moment as the final girl is the sweater scene. Other then that, she didn't have much fight in her. Now Chris in Part 3 is a final girl with a lot of fight and bite in her.
If anyone is responsible for Jason's death it's his mother. You have a special needs child and you know they can't swim, but you leave others to look after him. It'd be one thing if you sent him away to camp, but you worked at the same camp. You were 100 feet away cooking lunch, you couldn't keep an eye on him🤣

@@PettyPumpkins Bring it on! 🎃 🧙♀️
@@PettyPumpkins the dead dog in this film is Jason Voorhees's way of saying this y'all's final warning stay the f/heck away from/out of my domain/grounds/turf (Camp Crystal Lake AKA Camp Blood/Camp Dead)!
Fun fact jason is played by a woman when you see him walking to Alice's house
The actor who played Mark (our poor wheelchair king) was an openly gay actor who sadly died from complications due to AIDs in 1995. There's a documentary about his final days, _Life and Death on the A-List_ , which I think is available to watch on RUclips in its entirety. It's not an easy watch, but seeing as it's Pride month, it's worth remembering those we have lost.
Indeed. I came here to say PRECISELY this.
First, I don't know what I'll do if I get FEAR STREET reaction from y'all. My goodness! Ginny was amazing in this movie, and apparently Paul is dead, I read somewhere that Jason did in fact kill him but we have no footage on that!
I think momma Voorhees was too busy being the cook at the camp to help Jason. I always forget that she was the cook.
First time? Nice! Yeah, Ginny's a fan favorite. Amy Steel is really good in this and "April Fool's Day."
My favorites are Part 2 and the final chapter so when that scene between Mindy and Kirby happened in scream 6 I was so happy lol.
I'm still amazed you two have not seen the F13 franchise. I hope you enjoy it!
Yay! Another Petty Pumpkins vid! Thanks boys, and stay fabulous!!
Favorite F13 movie and favorite F13 final girl (one of the all-time final girls in all of horror). Baghead!Jason is also my favorite Jason, not least because at this point he's still just a guy, not a superhuman killing machine.
Check out Amy Steele (Ginny) in April Fool's Day.
Yall commentary be having me so dead lol this is one of my favorite jason movies. 3, 4, 6 and 7 was the best ones out of the franchise I am so glad you you guys reacted to this! 😊 I love y'all ❤
Great reaction dudes😂...made me look at one of my fav movies in a new light😂😄
i live for y’all’s reactions! literally one of my favorite youtube channels❤️❤️❤️ i just love you guys.
Love you both! This is one of my favorite films! Ginny rocks!! And indeed, justice for Mark :)
Omg...I just found yall's channel and you're hilarious 🤣 loved it and subbed!!
My favorite Friday the 13th film!
Once you said you were scared of dark corners I was waiting for the scene where "there's someone in this room"
When you get to next movie, Friday the 13th part 3, remember that it was originally in 3D. There was a trend in the early '80s where the 3rd movie in a series was in 3D. So if you wonder why there are weird shots in the movie where things are really close to the camera..this is why.
That was a lot of fun. Thanks, guys. I love this movie
need jason's mom's head for my Halloween mantle centerpiece pls & thx
Tom McBride who played Mark the guy in the wheelchair was openly gay. He passed away I think in 1995 from AIDS. At one time I think he was the Marlboro Man. SO handsome. Russell Todd was also easy on the eyes. They call Friday the 13th Part 7 the gay Friday because most of the male cast were gay. Including Kevin Blair (Spirtas).
I’m enjoying your reactions. Looking forward to you reacting to Friday the 13 Part 3!
Jenny is a good final girl in April fools Day (80s version) with Biff from Back to the future and Andersonville
Ticks and dix 😂 hilarious 😂
OKAy but orb at 40:41 floating on left side???
You're both soooo cute!
*Alice
You guys cracked me up. I was laughing about the shit brown knickers lol and the whole he's humiliated by going down the stairs lol. Bring on Part 3....quickly. love from Essex, England
I like 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and that's it. Part 4 is a favorite because of Cory Feldman and Crispin Glover casting, but 2 an 3 are also top three.
Love this reaction and I can't WAIT until you react to 3 an 4! Hang on, you're in for a ride! Jason gets his his iconic hockey mask in part 3, btw.
Fun fact! The last shot of Pamela’s head was actually a woman with a mask that was going to open her eyes! But it was cut for being “too stupid”
Love the shirts u guys are wearing
GINNY!GINNY!GINNY! Best final girl!!
I can't imagine the actual Petty Pumpkin Mom's just watching their videos.
Petty Pumpkins: she is Mother!
The Petty Pumpkin Mothers: No, we gave birth to you. We are your mother's.
😂
Okay actually going to ask our moms about this lmao 😂😂
@@PettyPumpkins lol I love your videos. They are entertaining and make me feel like I'm not alone in watching my favorite movies and tv shows. 💕💕💕
Pamela Vorhees is like Norman Bates in reverse. Talking in her sons voice
Thanks again for this reaction (and the commentary).....
FYI......the hot guy in the wheelchair was in fact gay in "real" life and unfortunately passed away from aids in the late 80s. Sad
Looking forward to more reactions........AND commentary! "
Ticks and dicks........brilliant...and TRUE
I thought it was thoughtful of Jason to take the tea kettle off the stove. I mean. Jesus. He didn’t want to start a fire:)
I remember watching this during the pandemic when I was off of work
Pamela was unable to watch Jason because she was the camp's cook and had only the camp counselors to watch Jason so she killed them for revenge because she thought her son drowned, but Jason ended up surviving, living on the other side of the lake in the woods where he continued to grow into an adult eventually witnessing Pamela getting decapitated, leading into the second movie. So Alice was indeed hallucinating at the end of the first movie.
100% hullucination as Jason would've been in his early 30s during the events of part 1.
Ginny is one of the top 5 final girls and Wes you are the cutest thing ever!
Welcome to the movie honey💀😂😂😂😂 I literally cackled
Ginny is a great final girl, can't wait for part 3 ! xx
Hahaha only a few minutes in and I’m already cackling. Ralph’s birthday should be a federal bank holiday! 🤣🤣🤣
Amy Steel is amazing as the Child Psychologist.
Whether she raised him in a disassociate state or he raised himself isn't clear.
1:34 Mom: Jessie You Get In This House Right Now!
pitchfork like pearl 🖤
This is the only movie in the Friday the 13th saga that I like; because it seems realistic. The other movies seem more fantasy.
Don’t worry, I also for some reason thought he was gonna say to Looney Tunes her way down the toilet. Lol!😂
Same lol
If you guys like Betsy Palmer, you should check out an episode of I've Got A Secret. She was on the panel of that show for years, in the late 50s-late 60s. She was gorgeous, and it was a really fun show. There are lots of episodes on RUclips.
had me lolling this whole video 🤣❤️ and YES! i want a fear street trilogy reaction!!!!
36:38 There's a fan theory that Paul was in on the killings, luring the campers to Jason
I love you guys so much !! ❤❤❤
Lolol great reaction guys
"Oh no. Not that shit brown"😂😂😂😂
I almost died laughing 😂
Them panties were hot in the 70s and early 80s..never again though lol
Amy Steel "Ginny" is a sweetheart. I've talked to her a few times at horror conventions.
They didn’t have to do Ralph like that though. Yes, Ralph was cray asf but he meant well
Please do the whole series this was dope af
The scene where the couple are on the bed getting it on before Jason impales them was actually gonna be a bit more graphic in terms of nudity but it was changed as the actress was only 17 at the time which is a big no no.
I believe she lied in her audition
Ginny's best moment as the final girl is the sweater scene. Other then that, she didn't have much fight in her. Now Chris in Part 3 is a final girl with a lot of fight and bite in her.
If anyone is responsible for Jason's death it's his mother. You have a special needs child and you know they can't swim, but you leave others to look after him. It'd be one thing if you sent him away to camp, but you worked at the same camp. You were 100 feet away cooking lunch, you couldn't keep an eye on him🤣
Not to alarm but, why is there a literal spirit above Wes at 40:42 🙈😂
"She did her research."
No, Paul told her all about Jason, lol.
They are at the counselor training center next to the old camp at Camp Crystal lake ❤
Across the lake
She had a stalker and she insteaded on her being killed off
You guys will love the rest of the Friday the 13th series! And please do the A Nightmare on Elm Street series!❤😊
Kelli Giddish reminds me so much of Amy Steel.
Nipplopolis 🤣🤣🤣
Why is Friday the 13th so repetitive, but we always want more!?!? I just feel like we are due for another FT13th movie too....I need it NOW 😂😂😂😂
I feel blessed to have rented these with my sister growing up and getting scared shitless on sat nights 🔪
