Let me add that 10 period Bollinger band 1SD, was extensively back tested at MIT by David Elliott about 30 years ago. When price is riding/repeatedly penetrating upper such band THE TREND IS UP IF THE BAND IS HEADED UP AS WELL (this holds true on any time frame chart--5 minute/15M/1H/4H/D/W etc.--direction changes when in that band price rides the lower 1 SD band. INSIDE 1 SD band (10 period) all movements are market noise--and trend RESIDES OUTSIDE that band. If price is riding 1SD band on MTF(say 5M,15 M,1H) simultaneously, you can be sure you are doing the right thing by buying. Martinelli also did work on this noise band. Longer trend can be easily checked by whether 50 period MA is above or below 100 period MA. Comments are welcome.

Hey thanks for another great video! I've been having trouble finding a good strategy for trading bitcoin lately, and this strategy has been the best so far! Volatility has fluctuated from high to low very frequently and combining the BB squeeze with key resistance/support levels and tight stop losses has helped me make much better decisions. Cheers!

Hi! I'm not tightly involved in markets, just studying. Does bb strategy convenient on lower timeframes, 1-5 min intraday? It seems giving much false signals on my broker's graphs. Would you be so kind to tell me a good pair or tripple indicators strategy, for scalping within such timeframes?
A market in consolidation is an opportunity waiting to happen. usually, in the direction of the long term trend. This is also a pure gold opportunity to scalp the hell out of the fairly predictable market. Once you get a couple of bounces you have the range and you can milk this thing for hours....days.... picking off an easy 20 + pips often. Advice here is to never trade the pull back leg against the trend or do so carefully. but crank up the leg in favour of the trend as this might be the one that breaks out for a big move. rule of entry is at the opposing bollinger to the trend....so...it crosses against the trend and then returns to the trend...entry......exit is the opposite side. breakouts will usually go to a 50....100...200 EMA or if that can not be used then wait for RSI to get (below 10...above 90) and or stochastics to get (below 15....above 85). Sticking Fib levels on is also not a bad idea. Major MA and Fib level at point close to each other....probably dying or retracing a bit there....your other indicators telling you its' done. time to grab the cash. There are no precise numbers. If the market has turned against your trade and the RSI and Stochastics are near the upper or lower quarter......consider getting out of the trade. Remember a key thing about bollingers. Top and bottom are 2 units apart...where center is also a unit. The further away from center the market is...the more likely it is to reverse....so....if it is 50 units from bottom to top then a unit is 25.....a good exit point suggestion would be 1 unit more.

But (unless I've misunderstood, which is likely) in the examples around 8:20 it isn't clear to me how the MFI is really helping, as it is above 50 for most of the narrow bandwidth and then drops below at about the time the price rather obviously drops out the range. If the MFI is above 50 is it more likely to drop? I'm trying to think how MFI or OBV is going to help predict the direction much better than just watching and taking the trade when volatility increases.

Not really, honestly. The concepts apply to all markets, some strategies work better on Forex, some on stocks. For example, candlestick patterns work better on Forex than on stock market (from my experience). Chart patterns work better on stocks. We just have to backtest the markets before applying a strategy.

Where can you get the true volume of Forex? Or the most accurate. Certainly, not from the brokers as the only data they could give is their own.
Tick volume has a high correlation with actual volume. Understanding VSA/VPA helps alot!
