To me the queen’s beast series is perfect in every way. It has collector value, metal content value, appeal to anyone who looks at them, and will go up in value steadily over time. The mintage is unlimited but its much harder to find the griffin compared to the unicorn for example. I like that they are issued in platinum too. I’m not a fan of the proof versions but they look nice too. Heard the next coin is being released in september. Can’t wait to get it.
I agree on most of your points, proof coins are pointless, if the BU equivalent is desirable, as is the platinum 1oz. The series is a known quantity, there is only 10 designs. The final issue will be autumn 2020, next year, so it's not open ended. You can acquire enough sets to suit a purpose, a sentimental legacy perhaps, so future values are someone else's problem. You can cover all scenarios, be it gold, platinum or silver in the various issued weights. My ultimate preference being, the platinum 1oz and silver 10oz. So whatever you need to do with your generic 1oz coins, you will have your Plats Silver and Gold QBs as a hedge against destitution.
Great video brother. Quick question for you, does this series and the Britannias tend to milk spot? I'd like to add some tubes to my stack but not if they spot. Thanks.
I just ordered the 1/4 gold version of the series. All seven of them! A bit of a premium but not too bad. I like the fact that they are semi numismatic and don't really care about mintage since I buy them to keep. Stunning coins and CGE. Now I'm going to sit back and enjoy the ride....
Hey Shadow Stack. The QB is one of the successful modern series in the globe. You are right about the 1oz gold Lion and Griffin that they have outperformed many others. 1 oz gold dragon is catching up. Unicorn could follow in the future. I personally do enjoy collecting them. However I will not continue because of the significant rise of the spot price in recent months plus I have couples of missing pieces. Collecting random coins are a lot easier and fun. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
I've frequently asked myself the same question, the Platinum 1oz, and Silver 10oz are already behind, only 5 issued. If geopoliticel event push metal prices up 50-100% on today's prices between now and the end of 2020, we might just get the 2oz silver issues done. If restrictions on gold for retail products are applied the remaining designs could well be unaffordable for most or unavailable for all.
Loved this video Shadow. This is my first series I’ve collected and I love it. I only have the first three 1/4 gold and haven’t decided if I’m going to buy the remainder. I will definitely complete the 2oz set 😁
Thanks for another great video...My view is that I just simply love the designs of the Queen's Beast series... and the first two are somehow the most appealing so that is why I think they have done better... I am just a collector, so I only have the entire series in BU silver 2 oz and Gold 1/4 oz... I did not start collecting until after the series had begun so I was not able to find the Lion in 10 oz silver & had to pay a high premium to get the 2 oz Lion ... I thought of getting the entire series in 10 oz but in the end I only have the Griffin so far... I just really do love this series though... I have a very limited budget for collecting and don't buy to re-sell...
I also was only able to pick up the 10 oz Griffin! I have the complete 2 oz coins to date. But I sold my 10 oz Griffin for a whopping $300 a while back on had $189 into it So that was nice.
Bullion bouncer... wow... I had no idea... I just had a feeling that the 10 oz Griffin would be a good thing to buy... I am considering buying the next two of the series in the 10 oz that are available at one of the dealers here... I do like the hefty size of the 10 oz coins... For certain I will continue to collect the remainder of the series in both 2 0z silver and 1/4 oz gold... I really love the gold and the ones I have already have increased in value quite a bit. I only have a small collection really... and I only collect for myself not to sell...
Hi, I have collected two each of the 10oz series since the beginning and am really impressed with their quality compared to the 2oz coins, which have variable quality. These latter, I have collected three each from the beginning, but I have mixed feelings about them. They are a bit slow bringing the 10oz coins out, however, with only four so far, versus six for the two ounce. I guess the Valiant series slowed them down, so I got one of each of them. Like you, Ms. Dakini, I am buying for fun and not to sell.
MeteoMan... thanks for your reply... I am enjoying the small collection I have... I just don't have a lot of money to buy with, so the series I have started are the Queen's Beasts, the Rwandan Nautical, The Rwandan current Lunar series, & the Perth Mint Dragon coins, both round and rectangle, and the Perth Mint Swans... I got the 2019 Rectangle Dragon coin in 1 oz gold and it is the star of my collection now... I just can't get enough of looking at it... I also got the Swan & Cignet in 1 oz gold... I really love the quality of the Perth Mint coins... I am continuing to look for a descent deal on a 10 oz Lion... I am just not sure if it is worth it as I could buy something in gold instead... I do dream of owning a gold Sovereign Piedfort coin... but in the end, I only have one child to inherit and he is not interested in coins at all and doesn't even want to look at my collection... A bit sad as I am nearly 74 years old already... I have no one to share this with other than RUclipsrs as I don't want people to know what I have... you know...
@@Dakiniwoman I do know, I am even older and nobody I know cares about coins, so I volunteer at a coin shop where I grade, price and conserve coins. And I get to educate new customers about the hobby. Also, I get good buys and a chance to upgrade by trading ounce for ounce. I have concentrated more on gold in the last year as it takes up less room and has done better than silver. Later.
Hi Shadow, this is a great series. I have some 2oz bullion (budget stacker). There's something about this series. Perhaps it's the record breaking reign of QEII. I think this will be popular for years to come. Surely we'll have the King's Beasts when the time comes, new interpretations with Charles's head followed by William's and George's. You'd think there'd be more collectors as years go by, searching for the 'originals' too.
Would love to see a second series of the Queens beasts, possibly when the queen dies and they could have incused designs and the queens head looking left to symbolize her passing over
@@silverstacklightning8717 no, a special set to commemorate her life, incused to symbolize her being in the ground so to speak but still with her face on the coin but facing the opposite way
I would guess that it is going to run out of steam unless the last 3 designs are something special. I'm not aware of a series where the last coins do well in comparison to the first coins. The wise buyers like it seems that you are would probably strategically buy the best of the series (first 3 coins) and not the whole series. The lion looks beefed, the griffin looks like it's about to fly away and the dragon looks like it's not to be messed with. Some of the others look like there about to fertilize the fields.
Are you planning to keep those gold beasties for the very long term because of CGT or are you planning to cash them in sometime and pocket the premiums? If your planning to sell, when do you think is the best time? When the series is nearly finished? After it's finished? When you see premiums dropping? Nice stack Mr shadow. 😀
We are lucky in dubai when it comes to gold, Many potential buyers wether they be individuals or more so gold shops / businesses. But unfortunately no one here wants the silver. Non at all. Thats why for silver im stopping at 500oz.(excuse my english)
a belhoul it’s all about location. Dubai is an area for the ultra wealthy so it wouldn’t make sense for them to buy silver. In other regions of the world it makes more sense to buy silver.
RM take too long between the releases. You're right , people lose interest. Also, they should have stuck to just 2oz pieces. Ive got a 10oz Dragon, but dont really like it.
Good video. I am always curious to know what people think of the one ounce silver proofs as well. I think on those, graded and slabbed 70s look promising, but maybe the silver proofs haven't seen the same appreciation in the secondary market, except for the lion and also the Yale, which had the lowest mintage so far and sold out quickly at the Mint. The bull and falcon 1oz silver proofs are still not sold out, but getting close.

Its an awesome series. I always liked mythological creatures. Its probably the most creative series to come from The Royal mint.

It’s funny because my regular dealer has on their website that the lion is not being minted anymore
I think your regular dealer is right saying that , have a look on Royal Mint site , i read the other day either discontinued or no longer available.

Trying to figure if I should sell the first three one ounce gold to take the profits now and buy more gold. Could sell 3 and buy almost 4 ounces.

The China Unicorn is now out from Apmex. Another one for your COI series?
Great video again bud love the QB wish I had more
The dragon and unicorn are starting to up as well
I think mintage and spotting is only knock on the series. But do like them!!
The Tuvalu mint have brought out their own version of the Nautical series. Haha. This is becoming hilarious.
Great designs but once this run is done im done lol........
excellent video Shadow , excellent series to collect I have them all accept the gold.

Last strong design was the Bull. The Falcon and Yale were not very pretty. Hope it finishes strong and we don’t see it again!😁

The Queens Beasts is a great series, I think we are nearly on the top of the prices and don't expect any big jumps in the future.
I sold a load of lions to cash converters .. FML
