Thank you Sam for promoting our local game. We have a great product in Northern Ireland. Hopefully this video helps bring over more people from Great Britain and afar to our wee country. Glenavon fan
I think that is guaranteed, there is so much to see not just in Belfast but Northern Ireland as a whole...what better way than combining a visit with a footy game or two!
Thanks for the coverage of my local league sam the effort you put into promoting Scottish football and now your small coverage of the Irish league aswel doesn't not go unnoticed and its widely appreciated 😊 hope you had a nice stay in ulster we are the nicest people in the world over here wee bit mental when it comes to the drink but I'm sure your used to that with living in Scotland 😅 glad you enjoyed a game at my teams ground im a glen man and have to admit our stadium could really do with some TLC but on the other hand I reckon it adds to the character there's not many old traditional grounds left nowadays in Britain slowly but surely they are being left for somewhat new and modern grounds which if im honest im not really keen on can't beat old school in my opinion safe journey home and i hope to bump into you sometime when your next over never no it could well be at a glens match 💙
At the Oval in the 60s & 70s the ground was full, we had great teams at the Oval. The year Utd beat Benfica in the European Cup Final, we drew 1-1 at the Oval and 0-0 in the Stadium of Light got knocked out on Away goals. We had many great European Nights back then even into the 80s to say Irish League Football is better than ever is nonsense. Only games against Linfield do you get any atmosphere.
The Titanic was fine when it left Belfast! Good to see you return to NI, and it looks like you've had a great trip. Hopefully you will get to see a few more local teams in action in future visits!
Sam, thanks for taking the time to visit the Mecca of Northern Irish football. Without doubt one of the most iconic, unique and historical footballing venues in the world. Gabe
Another good video mate keep it up👍🏻as glentoran fan great to see the league getting coverage from your page and hopefully the start of a few more trips for you. Shame on the match you came to tho, a few months back the oval would have been packed to the rafters. Next season try get back and experience the belclassico vs Linfield it will be a fixture that won’t disappoint❤️💚🖤
I’m a glens fan, and at the minute are team aren’t performing the way the fans want them and expect them too. We should b winning league titles. Go to a linfield Glentoran derby next season pls. Then u will see a good atmosphere and good game. Love ur vids keep up the good work
I really enjoyed your non-matchday video at The Oval a while back and it was nice to see the place hosting a match. You made good use of your "access tabard" and the two interviews with the managers were excellent, just like watching Match Of The Day ... lol !
definitely need to get across for a big 2 game (glentoran vs linfield) when the ground is sold out (albeit restricted capacity due to h and s) and the atmosphere is incredible to experience
Another cracking video mate, I find myself researching grounds straight after watching your content and working out how I can get there from East Lancs! Do you have any plans on going to an Annan match at Galabank?
It's true what David Jeffery said, its proper, hard football. I've been a few times to NI to watch matches, it's great over there..... The Oval is top of my to do list, not only in NI but anywhere in the world. Top video (again)!
Coleraine Showgrounds is more iconic, after all Man Utd Class of 92 played there, Joe Cole, Wayne Rooney, Steve McManaman, and Nick Barmby to name but a few
@@FootyAdventures That would be great man! Club is in some big trouble at the moment. The transition to new ownership is taking a long time, the team on the field is performing real poorly and due to a conflict with the owners of the GelreDome we might not have a stadium next year. Real scary times and really keeps you up at night. But I try to stay positive and support the team as much as I can. If you’re ever at a game I would love to show you around. There are a lot of guys in Arnhem that would love to have you over some time.
There is no doubting that the Oval is an iconic ground with plenty of history on and off the pitch but there is simply no getting away from the fact that it is now a decrepit, rundown and crumbling ruin of a place. It may have history but it is possibly the worst away ground in the Irish League, for a number of reasons. The product on show in the Irish League is getting better but looking around last night, I'm sure you seen that there is still a long way to go but Rome wasn't built in a day, however, sometimes people don't live in the real world.
OK so my grandfather was born in Dromore,,County Tyrone (half way between Omagh and Eniskillen),so what team from Northen Ireland, should I be supporting?
Pretty sure it was from a dinky donuts van that parks up inside the ground for the game so technically not Glentoran but funny how you can get it in such an old stadium haha
this was an awful game because of the distance between stadiums their was no atmosphere come to boxing day Linfieldn vs glentoran it will be a far better atmosphere.
As a proud Glens man i love this vid! The Oval is the heart of east belfast and you promoting it will no doubt bring more to wee northern ireland 🇬🇧🇬🇧

Hasn't a new stadium been approved for Glentoran?
It's a shame the WW2 pill box inside Elgin City's ground, Borough Briggs, was removed a few years ago. That would have been worth seeing.
Fair play to the managers having a chat “proper football” 👍
The Titanic was fine until it left here and an Englishman picked up the keys. 🤣
Thanks for covering our local game. Three smashing videos.
The Oval is a museum of what football was like in the 80s Pre-Taylor Report. It is a shame that it probably won't last for many more years.
Our wee team❤💚🖤
On my list. Great trio games you done.
What a stadium. Beautiful.
you have clearly never been to the away toilets it the shite hole, there has been no ground improvements since it was bombed by the Germans....
Mate you half to come to a glentoran vs linfield atmosphere from both teams are amazing
Glentoran has the most unique colour combo on their tops. I had one long ago from a buddy who went to Belfast
A tenner for a bottle of pop, the worlds gone mad lol. Ground looks ace though, might have to add it to the list.
i thought i heard it wrong when they said they paid a tenner for that stuff.
It's a good aesthetically looking stadium but in reality it's a shithole
The irony being is that they sell it at Arsenal and it's only a fiver. Personally I don't understand the hype about it at all.

Brilliant...that is just like saying...the aeroplane was air worthy when it took off, less so after flying into the side of a mountain!
@@Northstander Exactly.
Had King Theoden not steered the ship directly into a giant iceberg, it would have made it to NYC no bother!
Sam, thanks for taking the time to visit the Mecca of Northern Irish football. Without doubt one of the most iconic, unique and historical footballing venues in the world. Gabe
Nothing wrong with the ship. Just a drunk captain.

ffs youse haven't won a fucking league in 14 years ya muppet, always in our shadow
You can see why Glentoran such an iconic ground full of character beats these modern looky likey stadiums hands down

aslong as you are in the right end (glentoran end that is)
Linfield fans are hooligans.
How derby games should be for all local teams on boxing day . Noone wants travel 150 mile to an away game day after christmas
Love this stadium!
Yes the Titanic sank on its maiden voyage but it was fine when it left us…

Rodney mcaree, Rodney mcaree! Who put the ball in the Carlisle net?? Rodney mcaree!!
On RUclips I occasionally follow H&W Welders FC, they have a really nice stadium for that level
No doubt about it.......THE greatest stadium in British football.

in my day, kids spent their tenners on cigarettes and drugs not bottles of juice.
so which one is better
Class Sam 👏🏻
One of the best looking grounds. Never been but will eventually
It's a classic. You've got to go
As we say in Belfast….She may have sunk half way to America, but she was fine when she left us.
Cheers for the interview 👍
Nice one Sam, as the kid says come early in the season when the Glens win the league🤔 nothing to play for come March👍 £10 for a bottle of juice?? ffs!
As a glentoran fan we welcome you back anytime

Well done lads ❤️💚🖤
Thought Davey Jeffrey spoke very well.
Amazing video as usual , your videos always make my day , thanks very much , keep making people smile ❤😊
So glad the lack of 0-0’s live on!
Niall McGinn used to play for Aberdeen FC. Didn't know he went back home
We bought Terry Conroy from Glentoran in the 70's
Fabulous my brother 💙👍🏻
Thank you so much 😀
Ah yes 1892, the year a European giant was born. Vitesse Arnhem!
I love Vitesse! I saw them play at the Gelheredome one year before I started this channel. I'll have to come back and do a vlog soon!

Glentoran v Birmingham City preseason? I guarantee at least 2,000 Blues supporters will be crossing the Irish Sea for that one.
The ground looks like Wigans old ground.
east belfast
Went to 3 games last season when working at the docks. Loved the ground but found the atmosphere a little depressing. Felt a very elderly crowd.
its alright one of their stars likes younsters........
What camera do u use?
I want to start making videos of football matches, not vlogs. But just small 1-2 minute long montages of matches and the fans :)
The guy you interviewed at 7 min mark. The other guy sitting beside him with the glasses is breathing like a fish😂. I can’t get it out of my head
You sound a nice lad....
Massive glens fan great job👋
Loads of very articulate youngsters in these videos 👍 better than the usual grunts. Why is Northern Ireland full of such gems? 😅
Can you look around the university of Bolton stadium please
You should go see a Larne game
Wonder what the capacity is and do you ever turn out and fill it .
I love how you always include kids in your videos
alright mate
Disappointing that Prime makes the title.
OK so my grandfather was born in Dromore,,County Tyrone (half way between Omagh and Eniskillen),so what team from Northen Ireland, should I be supporting?
Glentoran
Dungannon Swifts are a Tyrone team.
