Thanks for the in depth review. I just tried these on at the redwing store and they did feel super comfortable. I don't like the side zip though because the extra material can be annoying. Just ordered the brown non zip version. I also have a pair of King Toe and Flex Force. Both are nice but don't have the nice hiker feel that the tradesman do. Considering I do roadwork and walk up to 5 miles a day while carrying equipment, the hiker style is really going to shine over their more heavy duty boots.
I bought the pair without the zipper with the recommended orthotic. It took about 2-3 weeks to break in, the orthos will hurt for awhile but it goes away. I love them, 300$ total spent, Ive had em for 3 months and they are great so far. Super comfy after they are broken in, super convenient lace system. I work as a mechanic. Only con is, I wish they were USA made. I was expecting to buy a nice USA made shoe when I walked into Redwings but their was only like 4 of them and the rest made in china. (I didnt buy the USA ones because I was told motor oil ruins the soles...) I hope these shoes last more than 2 years else I will most likely go back the 100-150$ price range. They are nice, but the price difference is too steep for a slightly more comfortable shoe. If you cant afford these the timberland pros are actually amazing for the price point, Mine lasted me 2 years. Only reason I went for these is because the insoles wore out and I outgrew them.
I'm going into Commercial Kitchen Services & the company that's hiring me gives their Techs a $95 voucher for Redwing boots. These boots definitely caught my attention & just added those Timberland Pro anti fatigue insoles to my list, so thank you for the informative video!
I’m on my third pair, I bought the first one the month that they were released, and those blew out the sides within six months. However redwing has a one year warranty and so they replaced them after a few attempted repairs, the second pair lasted me a little over a year and I’m currently about six months into this third pair. The sides blowing out seems to be common but its not an issue for a while because of the way that redwing waterproofs their boots with a sock, it will still last a while unless you manage to puncture that lining.
I’ve had the 6614 , which is essentially the same boots but no side zip and with the boa laces. These things are as comfortable as tennis shoes. My only complaint is that the soles on mine starting wearing away quickly. Until I bought some better insoles.
To me they are definitely not worth the money. Thankfully mine were paid for by my job. My current job isn't even that hard on boots as a Class B delivery driver for a lumber company. 9 months in the leather is splitting and all waterproofing is gone.
Man that you work construction I don't know what kind of construction you work? You have to take consideration if you get mud or dirt into the zipper, hopefully the zipper gets stuck on the up position and not the down position. Or you be screwed. Zip up boots or for business people per se

I agree with you on the insoles, if you don't care too much about money, dump $70 on the orange red wing orthopedic insoles.

Just bought a very lightly used in light brown off of ebay for 60.00 that are still brand new I hope these are good work boots.
How did they turn out?
@Cody Lawson great 👍....may as well have stole them for the price.
I have the same boots for my job in Sanitation and there the best boots to wear

Definitely not a hard insoles I wear them everyday and I'm on my third pair.
@6:28-6:39 Insults instead of insoles. . . Lol!

2 years strong with the boots and the zipper still works.
Those are insoles not out souls.
Red wing insoles too expensive and bad
