I grew up in KTown. Went to Ellison High. Lived off of 8th and Rancier. It was a very bad place. Heights was much safer and cleaner and overall just better. I was there from 1989 to 2006. Heights has A LOT more now, but I bet Killeen still rough around DwnTwn.. Good vid
Yea I graduated from Heights in 2004 and it’s grown so much since then. To me it’s really a land of milk and honey but so many ppl can’t look past the reputation.
The only thing you did get wrong was the schools in Harker Heights are a part of Killeen ISD. The schools in Harker Heights are no better or less then Killeen since they are in the same School District. But all in all you were right on point. ❤️

@@lorimoore709same district but Harker Heights High School is a lot better and seem to take more pride in things than high schools in Killeen.

You were incredibly helpful! We’ve been living in NM for the past 20 years and real estate is just nuts here and we gotta go. I’ve had enough and miss living in Harker Heights, but aren’t sure where to live and how much to spend on buying our first home. It’s scary making these choices cause it’s been years since we visited Killeen and HH and I’m not sure if we can handle all the hustle and bustle. I like all your videos and just all the info and wish I could afford to hire you or someone on your team.

Lived here since '89. It is a cesspool. Heights is no safer than Killeen. A young man was ambushed a couple years ago at the red light at Indian Trail and I-14. His car was riddled with bullets and sadly he was killed. Same crime as in Killeen. The towns are too close together to have much of a difference

I"ve lived in Killeen and Harker Heights. I personally prefer Harker Heights. It's closer to Temple going one way and Austin going the other. Harker Heights (a.k.a "Heights") has always been considered "nicer". I don't know. That's just me. I really miss living on Indian Trail close to the Nola Ruth.

I've lived in both cities since the late 1990s. That's a pretty fair review. The school thing has already been mentioned.
I will say utilities are higher overall in Killeen, but not so much that it should be considered when comparing home costs.
And back in the day a lot of Fort Hood officers live in Copperas Cove. The older neighborhoods in Heights that were/are decent were typically owned by medical doctors who primarily worked in Killeen. Things have changed a lot..
I love a lot of the newer subdivisions being built on Clear Creek, but for anyone who hates noise, be warned these are right next to the airfield.

Interesting. I live in Belton. I only go to harker heights to book shop. Haven’t been to Killeen in 10 years. But keep up the good work.
Thanks for the feedback. Yea Belton is a totally different world in my opinion. Temple and Belton are to each other what Harker Heights and Killeen are to each.
Are there any nice townhomes? Im a single mom whose not quite settling down yet so a house is too big for me but a nice loft/apartment or townhouse would be nice. I’m PCSING in February and I’ll probably be in the harker heights area.

Hospitals for non military for minor issues are ok. Seton Harker Heights (Don’t recommend ) Advent Health Killeen better. For serious issues go to Temple Tx, Scott & White.
