The problem is there are multiple versions of Joker in the comics, and he portrayed that version of the joker perfectly but no one knows much about that one so they think he sucked.
Don't know why people are telling you to skip this. If you like it or hate it, that's you. They obviously watched it, why deny the experience of a good/bad movie for someone else?
Leo makes a below average movie fun too. He can enjoy and accept it for what it is. And also appreciate greatness when he sees it. More people should be like that. Bad movies have a place in this world as well.

One thing that I will say was...odd was the fact that the entire world was under attack and yet Batman and Wonder Woman were like it's a good night for a vacation. Like you know Bats would show up trying to help.

I definitely remember the 2021 (sequel) being a lot better, and funnier. But very "James Gunn" in the humour. Maybe a bit too weird / surreal in places, and certain characters, but worth a watch.
Just need to say, this is the 2016 Extended Cut of Suicide Squad, not the 2021 reboot sequel. Also make sure you watch Zack Snyder's Justice League not the 2017 theatrical cut. The way to know is the correct version is 4 hours long. While BVS had 30 minutes cut out it was still to some degree Snyder's vision. This film however was completely reedited without the director's involvement because the studio wanted it to be like Guardians of the Galaxy (thus the good pop soundtrack versus a score soundtrack). So the tone is different from what it was supposed to be, which was more in line with BVS and you can see it in the first trailer for the film. Joker in this film isn't the way he was meant to be shown. Again the tone change and removal of scenes took out his role quite a bit. But the Joker was created as a 1930's era gangster. Here, he's a 2010 era gangster, so it's true to the character's history. You can also read Frank Miller's All Star Batman and Robin and there he's a lot like this. It is about preference, each live action Joker has been true to the character in the comics, except Joaquin Phoenix (Joker film) but even that was good and works as another Elseworlds story. The original idea is that Enchantress was in league with Steppenwolf (the villain in Justice League) and this whole thing was setting that up, but it was changed early on due to WB interference. I do hope one day we get David Ayer's Suicide Squad as he has said it's finished, nothing new needs to be done, so it's all about WB being willing to admit their mistake as they did with Justice League.

First off, like so many others have said, you need to change your headers, as this is the 2016 version, not the 2021 one. That said, this movie isn't anywhere near as bad as some people make it out to be. The Joker is terrible, but the rest of it is... yeah, decent. Not great, but fairly good. I agree with your 6/10 rating. Now, the 2021 version, that one *rocks*. It is LOADS of fun, and you should definitely watch it. I think you'll really enjoy it. Also, its sequel series, Peacemaker, is crazy fun. I highly recommend it. Also, if you like the idea of the Suicide Squad and want to see more of them, the animated movies that DC put out, Assault on Arkham and Hell to Pay, are quite good. And don't let the animated part put you off... they aren't kids movies. Assault on Arkham is PG-13, and Hell to Pay is an R. Also amazing from their animation department is the 2-part adaptation of The Dark Knight Returns, but that's not connected to the Suicide Squad.

Apologies but there are 2 Suicide Squad films. Which are Suicide Squad (2016) and The Suicide Squad (2021). You accidentally put the photo and title of the newer 2021 film but watched the older 2016 one. A lot of people trash-talk this one but I actually liked it, I just enjoy and will watch anything Harley Quinn though lol And Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn is just perfection. I also hate when just because someone else doesn't like it they tell others to skip it. Some of us just want to watch every movie that exists so we can form our own opinion. Those who tells to skip some superhero movie....just ignore them...all superhero movies are cool in a way...the diablo character is OP....I also liked green lantern movie...after man of Steel...some say garbage,,but i still love the design characters..

Apologies but there are 2 Suicide Squad films. Which are Suicide Squad (2016) and The Suicide Squad (2021). You accidentally put the photo and title of the newer 2021 film but watched the older 2016 one.
A lot of people trash-talk this one but I actually liked it, I just enjoy and will watch anything Harley Quinn though lol And Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn is just perfection. I also hate when just because someone else doesn't like it they tell others to skip it. Some of us just want to watch every movie that exists so we can form our own opinion. I never tell people to skip stuff, I just say if I personally don't like it or not. I just warn them that they might lose braincells watching something 🤣
