I used to have every Skylander from Spyros adventure to trap team, minus the chase variants. I had a few of the chase variants but definitely not a lot. my mother threw away EVERY Skylander I had, she did this because when I was younger i was dumb and put them in a garbage bag for transportation to friends' houses. she thought it was garbage and it was gone. I didn't find out she threw them away until a few weeks after she had done it. I was so deviated because I spent my entire childhood collecting Skylanders with my grandmother. I'm now trying to slowly recollect all of them, I'm collecting them from when the games release. I have almost half of the Skylanders from Spyros adventure. it's going to be awhile until I get back to trap team, but I'm willing to do it.
Same thing sorta happened with one my friends. His mom gave them away without asking him since he didn’t play with them much anymore. He’s still depressed about it to this day
Wow, I am just now realizing that glow in the dark wrecking ball is worth like $300. Saw one at a pawn shop for $6 and just didn’t even think to pick it up haha. Noooo!

It is rare yes. While it's good that you kept your original card, many of them have simply been thrown away over the years. Folks didn't realize their potential value.
What you should do is go to your local GameStop ask about skylanders games and then if they say no we don’t have any ask do any other stores have any? But if they say we don’t trade them they still trade the games and they are about 15 bucks and it’s mostly Xbox one or PS4 even sometimes switch I have seen people do it I’m in Australia and Eb games over here is owned buy GameStop and they still sell skylanders for 4$ for everything pretty good.
EB Games still sells figure there? That's fantastic! Yeah, the GameStops in the rest of the world haven't sold figures in years. An occasional game pops up as you mentioned, but even that has been quite rare.
No. We used to have this option. Unfortunately though it was a nightmare for our bookkeeper (since we had dozens of international currencies active) and we discovered we were losing a lot of money in the currency exchange process so we had to deactivate it.
No, my collection is mixed. Most of the standard figures are loose while most of the rare chase variants I prefer to get in box. I don't plan to ever get a complete boxed collection.

Rare chase variants like those are basically all in the hands of collectors now. If you want them, you need to find a collector looking to sell their collection or someone like me who buys large collections and sells the items individually.
