Agree on better driving dynamics - we sold our 2017 gas Pacifica and bought a 2019 Hybrid and looove the feel of the eCVT compared to that zf9 speed that was in the gas. It wasn’t horrible, but getting rid of the gear shifts and adding electric torque makes for such a nicer driving experience. All driving is city and charge ever night, tank of gas is lasting months so far.
we have solar so it’s hard to tell - i can’t imagine it’s more than $10/mo - we probably drive it down to 30% charge on average a day. The odometer split on the tank of gas in it now is right around 1000 miles, 920 electric and 80 “Hybrid” and it’s at 85% full or so. The car does time the fill ups and will burn gas gradually over time so it doesn’t sit forever.
Just think weight I think is like 700lbs more than normal Pacifica, double check me on that though. Price is trickier, I negotiated a sweet deal (16% under MSRP) on our gas Pacifica but in the Hybrids they aren’t negotiating much. I ended up giving them my Limited +$20k (tax title everything) to walk out the door with the Hybrid Limited. As with most hybrid/electric/solar stuff it seems to be more to satisfy psychology than an amazing economic savings. Wife is crazy happy with it.
@Just think Depending on the deal you get it can end up costing less for the hybrid compared to gas. We bought an '18 Limited last fall for 10% off MSRP + $1,000 rebate for current hybrid owners + $7,500 tax credit means we paid ~$4,000 less than a comparably equipped limited and will spend $1,000 to $1,500 less on gas each year.
Pro tip from me, try to at least use one tank of gas per month because this modern gasoline that is blended with ethanol goes bad quite quickly. It will be healthier for the engine and every component involved to at least try to use gasoline once in a while.
I wish the U.S. market could enjoy the true Japanese van market. Such as the Mitsubishi Delicate and the Toyota Veilfire, Alphard or Estima. They will blow every USDM van away. The U.S. Honda Odyssey in Japan is totally different. Like 100%different vehicles. Plus the Japanese market are all available as a Hybrid or true 4x4 or AWD if you wanted. I own a 2018 Pacifica S and love it but I know I am missing out on what true awesome vans available in Japan.
I've owned a minivan for over 13 years, I know they have a stigma to them but, In my opinion they are far superior to SUVs and crossovers. My kids grew up in one and now I use it like a truck. Long live the Minivan!
I had a couple minivans, decades ago. No kids, just found them super handy for hauling reno supplies and moving stuff, etc. They hold a ton of shit with all the seats out. One of them was a Mazda MPV with 4WD. I wish they still made those, it was pretty cool.
I have the touring L plus with tow package and 18" touring package. Just went through my first Minnesota winter with those 18s. Other than the low 5.1" ground clearance plowing snow a few times, the van actually handled really well in The snow and packed ice/snow on most streets. My wife has a 2011 CX-9 awd and that was very easy to break traction. Next year I'll probably get snow tires but for those concerned, don't be.
You stated all truths and no lies here. Far more versatile than an SUV and a truck for most people.. and it's not a bad spot to camp overnight in or to "entertain" a casual ladyfriend if'n the mood is right.

Looks good! We had a 2005 T&C which we later gave to another family in our church when we bought a new car. They’re still driving it, and the only repairs that have ever been made to it were a new full brake setup on the back wheels, a re-flash on the ECU (it started doing the “possessed” gauges thing w/ check engine light), and that was about it. The darn thing is rusting badly, though...I hope that’s something FCA has addressed in the new 2nd gen platform.
Thanks for the thorough review gents! I just got back from my first long road trip in our new-to-us 2018 Pacifica and it was outstanding! Nice precious cargo with the Essex/AP Racing brake kits!

But then you go ahead and start being you, the savage, and you drag the poor canadian boys into this too - man this is just too much goodness. Cant wait for the next one! Also great car. First car I ever bought myself was a used Ford C-MAX, loved the usability and this Pacifica is just sooo much next level, manly cause you can play VR games in the back no problem.
This is an amazing transportation tool. I love it. If it turns out to be reliable it has no real competition. A two-year-old unit will be amazingly affordable and still under warranty.
Former owner of Chrysler XJ cherokee here. Chrysler always manufactured the greatest vehicles. My cherokee was very reliable and dependable, lasted 180k miles throughout my college days and a few years afterward with only few minor mechanical problems. Only if I knew Chrysler still offers this beautiful and amazing vehicle before I finalized my divorce process, Pacifica could have saved my life like XJ once did back in the days. Too bad I can not purchase any new Chrysler car becausec of my monthly child support payments.
My cousin owned the original Pacifica and I fell in love with it. She got one loaded and couldn't believe they killed that vehicle after such a short time.
The shift delay is probably good thing, so many people need to be reminded of time they should wait for the transmission to get in gear. I feel like it should blink bright while it's getting in gear, then just stay lit when ready....I ve seen people on parking lot shift in reverse and go immediately forcing it with raised rpm
About the 15 minute mark the mic on the camera is picking up the sound of the rain sprinkling the van makes it even more like an everyday driving scenario
My Wife and I agreed we'd never be a 'van' family, we much prefer SUV's. That's what we continued to tell ourselves after buying our 2nd SUV when we had our 3rd child. But then electric vehicles started getting popular and I really wanted one. Months of searching and I couldn't settle on a plug-in hybrid SUV that I liked....then I found the Pacifica Hybrid. For fun I decided to test drive one. So I took it around the streets near the dealership with the salesman in the car with me. I asked him if I could drive it home to show my Wife and he agreed. I dropped him off at the dealership and drove it home. My Wife drove it. And now we own a 2018 Pacifica Hybrid Limited in white. :) It only took 1 drive and we were instantly hooked. And now we realize how stupid we were denouncing minivans. This thing is FAR better in every way compared to our previous SUV's. We traded in a 2015 Nissan Pathfinder for the Pacifica Hybrid. We've got just under 9k on the odemeter now, but about 7k of that is pure electric miles. Currently I'm still above 1/2 tank of gas and I'm pushing 1,300 miles on the tank. Dash shows over 60MPG (but it does a weird calculation). With a 16 gallon tank at 1,300 miles (only about 5 gallons used) we are at 260mpg if you don't calculate the cost of electricity. Our electricity bill went up about $40/month, but we are getting 1,000 miles of travel for that $40. That same 1,000 miles on a gas vehicle (like our old pathfinder at 20mpg) would have cost us $175. We are saving over $120/month on gas alone, plus all the time NOT having to visit a gas station anymore. There's a TON of features packed into this van. Not only does it drive way better than our pathfinder (handling), it's also faster. If you are not sure about vans, do yourself a favor and at least test drive the pacifica hybrid.
we had a 2007 Chrysler mini van that lasted for 3 years 100,000KM (about 60,000 miles) before selling it for 1500$ (the transmission doesn't shift, the wipers turn on when change the radio station)
I have a 2010 Audi TTS roadster with the dual-clutch transmission. It also rolls forward if I have it in reverse while my car is aiming downhill. The opposite happens when I'm aiming uphill. When I have the car in drive while the car is aiming uphill, then the car rolls backward until I press the acceleration pedal. The only other automatic car I've been in that did that is the Alfa Romeo 4C.
So.....Fiat Chrysler struggled with the ZF9 transmission for the first two years. Now add even MORE complexity and risk for reliability, it will be interesting to me how 2019 and 2020 pan out. While it looks like a great vehicle, performance, ride, etc, I would wait another 2-3 years before I would consider shelling out my Benjamin's. Caveat emptor!
I love the Pacifica... I am not in the market for a van, but if I were.. I would have to be looking at it. It looks great inside and out. I hope this is a success for Chrysler, they could use one.
Mom shits her pants video was hilarious lol. Long road trips in this must be very relaxing, those springs look big. Appearance package looks badass though.
I actually love the front end of this. Would look very good on a limousine or station wagon. Reminds me of subarus or Nissan Silvias? Either way looks great.
I drove our 2009 chrysler town and country plenty of Times. It’s fine to me and I own a sedan. It has 140k miles on it to. My 2015 chrysler 200 has a aluminum control arm all the way around. I will say tho the wind noise in the town and country is pretty loud, but it’s a very smooth ride but it is a boat. But overall we love it. Interior could be a little better quality but the design was way ahead of its time for 2008. And challenger and charger are very refined you say it and the Durango. That platform is good.
I wish they would have spent their time and money developing an AWD version of this vehicle. When you consider the fact that this is a passenger van, being marketed to people with large families and lots of kids, it would make sense to offer the added safety and security that comes with being able to drive all four wheels.
As someone who owns a Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, I kind of wished I had this instead. Yes it isn't an SUV or has AWD but the EV range is better here, it charges faster on a 240v circuit & amusingly despite using a 3.6L V6 actually BEATS the Outlander PHEV 2.0L Inline 4 in fuel economy in hybrid mode. My only real reservation is FCA reliability.
As an owner of a 2015 Sienna oh, this is really compelling to me as it offers just what I need and fixes a lot of the issues I had with my van and the previous generation vans that Dodge and Chrysler offered. I'm still a little weary of the reliability but it seems like they're definitely refining everything and especially with this hybrid model it would be very useful for what I mainly use my van for. I'll just have to find one pre-owned or with a good discount since the hybrid model is quite expensive
Also I understand that the new Sienna is going to be on the new platform, but it's kind of unacceptable if they've been using the same one for 10 years, with only some minor upgrades to the interior and Chassis and updating the powertrain which I feel made the car drive a lot rougher with that 8 speed automatic shifting so aggressively
I test drove a 2022 Pacifica Hybrid two weeks ago. My immediate surprise was that I wasn't comfortable in the drivers chair. Made no sense to me. It's a minivan...shouldn't this feel amazing and plush? Anyone else have issues with the drivers chair feeling too firm and unpleasant? I almost walked out of there with the Pacifica if it weren't for the seat being so uncomfortable. I think it was the Limited trim. Do you have to go to a higher trim to get a comfy seat? The insane space of it all, the practicality of what you can load in the back, the low floor height to load things, the automatic doors everywhere...it's just such a practical vehicle. Too bad the seat sucked for the 10 min I was in it. Went with a Hyundai Santa Fe PHEV instead as I still want a PHEV.
"slings stool at you" haha I wouldn't mind a standard version of this van 👍 my sister said it best... "Vans are comfortable and nice to be in.... Just not cool to be seen in".
I'm sorry but I'm not watching your videos to learn something new about the car anymore. I'm watching them because of yore creativity, your jokes and your personal opinion. Please run for President lol

It only took 1 drive and we were instantly hooked.
If you are not sure about vans, do yourself a favor and at least test drive the pacifica hybrid.
slandshark epic comment
This video was excellent! I think the music has a huge impact on the overall tone and energy of the video... not to mention the expected LOLz
Cool you had the Straight Pipes guys on there. :-)
we had a 2007 Chrysler mini van that lasted for 3 years 100,000KM (about 60,000 miles) before selling it for 1500$ (the transmission doesn't shift, the wipers turn on when change the radio station)
You had me at “Shut up back there!”
This is the best.. SHUT UP BACK THERE!!!! ... best savagegeese vid, ever. I also LOVE Subaru Tooning😂🤣😆
I actually love the front end of this. Would look very good on a limousine or station wagon. Reminds me of subarus or Nissan Silvias? Either way looks great.
Pacifica is gangster lol. What?! Jakub!! Hell Yeah! Raptor Drift 🦖💨
Just got one. Limited team with year end employee pricing plus Federal tax credit for 30k. Freaking amazing.
A minivan is a minivan... only the goose could make this interesting enough to click, let alone watch in it's entirety. :)
I wish they would have spent their time and money developing an AWD version of this vehicle. When you consider the fact that this is a passenger van, being marketed to people with large families and lots of kids, it would make sense to offer the added safety and security that comes with being able to drive all four wheels.
Of all the reviews I've watched, I rang the bell on this one.
My only real reservation is FCA reliability.
you amaze me with you're cinematography.
I love the collab, with TheStraightPipes!
2:47 - for the first time in so long, I laughed to my hearts content 😂.
This stuff always gets me but I wasn't expecting this one.
I work at the factory that makes them , putting in the AWD system in the summer
Love the crossover with the Canadians!
Best thumbnail ever.
Trust your instinct, Chrysler quality is horrible.
Great video! The Mia of humor and honesty is perfect! Well done!
Well I can't thank you enough for putting the "P" back in Plug in Hybrid!
"slings stool at you" haha
I wouldn't mind a standard version of this van 👍 my sister said it best... "Vans are comfortable and nice to be in.... Just not cool to be seen in".
I really like the suspension break downs
A review of the base dodge caravan would be nice. Also would be interesting to see the differences.
Best God Damn minivan review EVER!!!!!!!
Slinging Stole!
YES!!!
Scatology Party Tonight!
I'm sorry but I'm not watching your videos to learn something new about the car anymore. I'm watching them because of yore creativity, your jokes and your personal opinion.
Please run for President lol
I like the wrap up while sitting inside a CRV
