    I'm using the same strategy, building several pc's for mining/heating my apartment this winter. Using 12 new PELADN Radeon RX 5500XT 8GB graphics cards @ $115 each from New Egg as I post this. Couldn't resist the price/r.o.i./efficiency on these cards for hodling coins. No plans to re-sell these, running them 'till failure.🤞 Good luck all, great video, hope this helps!👍

    yesssss! finally a new retro mike video.
    impressive an X300 board supports 4 DIMMs. are they daisy-chain or T topology?
    does the bios have EDC/TDC limit options?

    Nice little setup, would work as a room heater since the form factor is so small. Waiting for the RPM video in a few weeks where he receives 200 of these lol.

    love ur content, jsut a quick note on the wraith spire coolers. In an open air rig they were unable to cool 3900X even when downclocked and undervolted. Please give us an update and let us know if you are able to cool higher thread count CPUs and run without them crashing.

    • @RetroMikeTech
      @RetroMikeTech  8 месяцев назад +1

      You need to add a CPU, RAM, and GPU (if the cpu doesn't have integrated graphics).

    Did you set the fan curve in the BIOS?

      @@RetroMikeTech I may do that; I'm trying what it defaults to for "custom" now. Lately (last couple of weeks) mine's been freezing in mid RUclips play-I'm thinking it's correlated to a Chrome update--there's been updates since then, but also the top is feeling rather warm to the touch, so I've tried "performance", now "custom". We'll see what happens.Maybe I should drop back to a snapshot from before the hoohah started.

    Can you run the Ryzen 9 3900x? It is 105 watts

      No, if you look at the product page on the ASRock website, they have a supported cpu list. Needs to be 65w
