So, like, I don't see anyone mentioning this but: The curse was supposed to ruin everything when Adam turns 21 - so as Beast, he's almost 21 years old. In the song, 'Be Our Guest', Lumiere(Sp?) says 'Ten years we've been rusting,...' which means the curse has been active for ten years at that point. So, if we take into account that more than a few seasons passed during Belle's stay? Adam was likely to have only been *ten-eleven years old* when the Enchantress cursed him - a literal child - for not letting a stranger into his castle and home. This is also only a little after the death of his father, his last remaining parent. Yeah, Adam might have been rude, but I really don't think he deserved to be turned into a beast for turning away a suspicious looking stranger from his home - that's like horror movie stuff, don't let the creepy person who you don't know into your house or you might get murdered. Now that I'm done with my mini rant/fun fact; This was a really great series!

Plus it would've been even more dangerous since he was a prince and had tons of money. Old lady or not she could've robbed him, murdered him, trashed the place, etc. Why are magical beings always so damn petty and childish like you can't say or do shit to them without them blowing up and lashing out or holding a grudge. They can't handle being told no or that they can't have/do something. Sure he turned her away in a rude manner but he had several valid reasons plus he was raised in high society so he probably didn't even think that there was anything wrong with his behavior
