Hello everyone ! If you're wondering where 2-3 is, I've had some issues with the recording, so that's why you're getting 2-Tower instead. Hopefully I'll be able to recreate the TAS for next monday ! Cheers and thanks for watching !
I imagine the team is so in sync and goal oriented that they're happy to spend a life if it can get someone closer to the finish. Like some extra complex, calculated teamwork
5:34 Pro tip: it's better to write the time of *before* the event happens instead of after, so people can click your timestamp and see what's about to happen instead of needing to go back in 5 or 10 second increments to find it.
'Searches up how to die' Google: here's the suicide hotline Bing: 0:04 Crappy memes aside, your patience is incredible, programming the TAS for this must've taken a long time.
Love how the first thing the TAS does is immediately suffocate three of the characters. 3:34 Love Mario diving in to take the hit for Luigi. 4:55 How did I not know you could jump off of bubbled players.
at first glance at the boss jumping up and down to stun toad i thought it was over, but i realized you can just stand in the far corner and avoid roy lmfao. love this series btw
5:06 that’s a interesting glitch, the game making the toad death sound effect despite him living (edit: actually yellow toad just happened to die at the bottom of the stage) Also the anxiety from 5:43 nearly killed me
I think that's actually the sound of Yellow Toad dying as Blue Toad pops out and made the screen scroll up. Rewind a bit, you can see after yellow toad pops out of their bubble they go offscreen but don't die. It seems like at that point the screen was scrolled just enough so that the dry bones unloaded from the lower platform but yellow toad could stay standing on it?
Really cool! I hope one day a solution is found for 1-t as well. I have been thinking that getting an ice flower to the checkpoint might help because then you could get 3 characters to the next section by popping a bubble with an ice ball to possibly avoid the first blue platform after the checkpoint but idk how possible that is.
that's actually an interesting idea cause in the 1-t video, yoad had an ice flower right before the stack up to the checkpoint. had yoad been the one to have been boosted up to the checkpoint platform instead of luigi, yoad would be on the checkpoint platform with the ice flower
@@adealtas Maybe add a rule that one level from each world can be skipped? Even accomplishing a True Jumpless like that would be impressive. Also, in your channel description you invite people to help you with your English so I'll attempt that here. The statement "bouncing someone with an ice flower up doesn't seem 'obvious' at all so far" doesn't make sense with the word "obvious" Obvious means "Easy to see or understand" For example: "It's obvious that Mario wears a red cap." I think what you're trying to say is that the idea isn't working. In which case you might say that "bouncing someone with an ice flower up doesn't seem "functional" at all so far." Functional means: "Working as intended" Sorry if I misunderstood what you were trying to say, I hope this helps.
4:12 Hey, the powerup from the flag finally came in handy! It's always a little disappointing when you get powerups, but they end up being useless. I think the main exception was the Ice Flower back in 1-4. Nice to see some damage tanking!
If this were an actual multiplayer session, it would be horrific. "No - no, I'm moving left! You have to keep bouncing on me so Blue Toad can spawn here! Okay, good, now you're spawned, now keep bouncing until Luigi - no! You ruined it! We only have a minute of error room, you guys need to get your shit together!"
I'm wondering, in places like 1:58 couldn't you go down 1 step if there are 3 bubbles or 2 bubbles in that lower step, instead of waiting for all of them to come to the highest step? Instead of bursting 1 bubble, you would burst 2 of them, so you'd have characters at your disposal faster (and you could make 2 characters climb to the step above, instead of just 1 person). Time isn't an issue in this level, but every Tower level seems demanding because time is scarce, so I thought it was a relevant optimization to share
i saw this series in my dreams the other night. i only just realized that the video i saw in the dream wasnt real. it was some castle level with (idealistic route) or something in parenthesis (something along the lines of "in an ideal world, this would be the route" and it was an extremely long castle level but you kept using spinjumps. there's no moral to this story. love the vids
I honestly think this the most impressive TJC level so far since it's obviously impossible to complete the game with this challenge (even if we didn't count shaking for screws as jumping, there's no way to actually get on the screw on 8-airship without jumping) how about the next best thing: finding the minimum amount of 2 presses, shakes, and A presses needed to complete the game?
Actually, at the start of the airship, everyone enters the stage using a jump, so you *can* bounce on other people's heads to get on the first screw ! Now I agree that the objective should be to minimize the count, in a sm64 kind of way. Though that would require setting a priority between the buttons. I would say, most importantly, save the 2 buttons, then the shake uses, and finally the A buttons.
@@adealtas oh wow, I didn't actually realize that. still highly doubt it's possible to complete the game with this challenge even if shaking for screws didn't count but I would love to be proven wrong it's also worth noting that you can technically do the toad houses with no 2, shakes, or A presses so that could come in handy somewhere. Sadly, i don't think any of them would help for 1-tower.
@@gabraltar7506 I have faith in this challenge ! Also SPOILERS Yeah I used the toad house in world 2 to help for 2-3. Normally, you would have seen it today if it weren't for Dolphin (and me) being stupid
@@adealtas I dunno, I think a priority system might not be ideal for this. Imagine we end up in a level with some obstacle that can't be progressed past within the rules of the challenge. We can clear it by having one character press the 2 Button to jump over it, but spin jumps/stacking/bubbling won't work here, for whatever reason. But we could also start the level with Propeller Mushrooms and shake 40 times to get to the obstacle without losing it, then one more time to bypass it and save the 2 press, and that strategy would be optimal if we're prioritizing those. It'd be more in the spirit of the challenge IMO to just accept the single 2 press. So I think it'd be best to just give all three banned inputs the same value.
@@floralQuaFloral Yes, that's a good point. However that also raises another thing: if I press 2 at some point, can I hold the 2 press forever ? because it would make the rest of the challenge much easier, but it wouldn't really be in the spirit of the challenge...
