Why didn’t they discuss in the video why the black population revolted against the Chinese? Why didn’t they talked about the reason being that Chinese never saw themselves as Jamaicans and even looked down on the majority and was racist towards the black Jamaicans. The war started after built up tension but a Chinese physically assaulted a black Jamaican women and the other Chinese backed this action which led the blacks to lashed out against such act.

@@ForgottenFaces001 I watched the video, it seems more of looking pity and playing victim than to take accountability or exploit the reason why it started. Being deflective much and even blame it on another party.

@@NativeNomads10 There have been numerous riots and acts of violence against East and Southeast Asians in North America and the Caribbean for over a century now. Obviously, there will be times where they are in the wrong because they are flawed human beings, but you're missing the bigger picture that the documentary is trying to show, which is that all races partake in oppressing one another. Not just White on Black. Most Chinese Jamaicans are proud to be Jamaican.

The anti-Chinese feelings in Jamaica is similar to what Chinese have faced all over the world, a very small minority, united but lacking any kind of political power, become very successful economically and the dominant racial or ethnic groups in that country look on and ask how did all these people, who came with nothing, now have a much better standard of living then we have? Its mostly jealousy. The Chinese all over the world, no matter where they settle, in Africa, in S. America, in Europe, N. America, always seem to do very well economically. People say the Chinese did not integrate with the local Jamaicans, its not true, most Chinese Jamaicans are already half black. The Chinese only wanted to be included in Jamaican society and in most cases were not.

Asian was the last slaves to be free in America. Our true history is all twisted up and need to be untied. America slavery at one point was servitude servants until around 1655 A.D a freed black man (Anthony Johnson) took his black denture servant to court claming he violated their contract agreement and want to punish him as long term slavery for life. The court agreed smfh...

My father spent an entire night protecting my mothers parents shop in Kingston one of those nights.
He stood on a table looking out of a window (?opening with bars?) above the front door of the shop holding a shot gun. This would have been in 1965 they year before they were married.
Interestingly my uncle told me this story, my father never mentioned it.

There has to be some sort of UN charter against politicians that use ethnicity to cover their asses. We in the third world have lost a lot. First we don't hold our leaders accountable and Second we lose a lot of goodwill and capital flight.
Idi Amin did this and Uganda collapsed. I can't imagine what was lost when the Chinese-Jamaicans left. We can do better
