    The wide FOV lenses & Top Head-strap are currently out of stock, Pimax advise stocks coming soon!😮

    Very good and honest review! Meanwhile, Pimax does not yet have these lenses available. And never has their adjustable headstrap available. They excel at raking in big money, but fail at service and follow-up with their customers.

    Thanks for that. With such a small increase in FOV I'll now wait for Pimax to come out with the battery-less version of the headset.

    That is disappointing to hear Mark, from a free plastic 42PPD lenses that was included in the pre-orders to now not such a great larger FOV that Pimax has told will still cost half the price of retail. Its a sad, sad day.

    For the time being, I cannot find the option to order the Big FOV lenses (and the comfort top strap) anywhere on the Pimax website. Maybe that's a good thing, because it sounds like it's not the best purchase after all

    I think the DCS guys like them more because it gives them more situation awareness in combat.

    UPDATE** I have recieved my Large FOV lenses and I completely agree with you mark on all of that. I would not at all recommend these lenses at all. Such a shame. I almost feel like asking my agent over at pimax to see if there are any of the plastic 42 PPD lenses that they have kicking around. lol

    Mark, can you answer one question for me? If one chooses to use VR, would it replace using a 32" computer monitor? Or is it just an alternative for those who can afford to pay the price for VR. VR never really hit the Video game market in a large way.

    • @SimHangerFS
      @SimHangerFS  2 месяца назад

      You still need a monitor for loading up into vr and for daily use. I use my monitor for everything until I load up MSFS.

      I use Reverb G2 and want to upgrade to Crystal. I think you’ll get a pretty mixed bag of answers to this question for various reasons. That being said, for me, I chose VR for the immersion. I wanted to be “IN” the cockpit. Not staring at a computer screen. I think many people don’t have the available disposable income to throw at VR, so a good flat screen is the alternative. For me, I would never NOT use VR for DCS. Absolutely mind blowing to me how it puts you into the environment.

    Is anyone else waiting for thier wide FOV lenses that were part of the bundle?

    I am so taken back by what is there that I find no need for my view to be slightly wider. I think the ground quality in general is highly under-rated when in VR. Try looking at very light snow laying on green bladed grass. It is insane. And try actually looking at some water ponds up close. You will be surprised at how complex they are. Clearly PBR was used. Finally tire marks in farm fields actually take into account the needs & requirements of the equipment used for planting and harvesting. It's detail like that which gets my attention, not field of view. The level of AI used to recreate the ground on a wide scale had to be astounding.

      It is nice to hear someone appreciating what is there, rather than looking for something to complain about or take this simulation for granted.

    Why the hell that every time you guys put out an update it screws something else up? I tell you what, I am going on You Tube on every site and explain to people how much a pain is the ass this headset is. From having to restart your computer just to turn in on. Now the Eye tracking justs stops working which means I have to recalibrate, which means leaving game and restarting computer, now my batteries are only lasting an hour. Oh and the little bracket that holds your head strap to the headset will break it's a cheap little piece of plastic, It's like putting a Fiat motor in a Roll Royce, The Fix? Take a hacksaw blade and cut a slit in the actual headset. This is not me folks. I have had this headset since day one. You want to make me happy? Send me a new one. I will not send you this one until I have a new one in hand because I do not trust you, I never did get my free lens you promised when I was one of the first 500.
