Simple Goretex Waterproof Test

Pour water and let it soak for 30-60min and see if water permeates through.
Test Rationale:
A lot of people test goretex for 5 seconds under a shower or waterfall and water beads off no problem. But this is purely due to the DWR, not the goretex membrane itself (which is where you paid top dollar $$$ for). So the idea of this test is to let water soak through the DWR and let the goretex membrane do the work, not the DWR.

@@dinosaurcool86 Its all fun and games until you forget to reapply the dwr, silpoly jackets with pitzips work just as well , are more packable and require less upkeep.

The pants are amazing. Fell on some sharp rocks 20+ feet of sliding. Got Amd and was convinced they’d be ripped. Nope, just a little dirty. Hardly a mark on them at all.
