I tried the MMX 100 which is the £100 version and it’s exactly the same headset, just without the noise cancelling and usb and straight 3.5mm plug and play and tested it for the whole day. I have to admit it was the best sound I’ve heard in a gaming headset. I’m not surprised at all as it’s based on the DT 770 Pro. It’s literally audiophile sound quality. However, it made no difference to imaging and how loud you can hear footsteps in games like Warzone. Yes the sound quality of the imaging is amazing, as someone who uses proper headphone for music listening, I really don’t care about the sound quality as such in gaming. As long as the headset sounds good enough then that’s enough for me. Most have also stated the MMX headset is very uncomfortable, but I didn’t find it uncomfortable at all. The first thing you need to do is, stretch the headset a few times. But it does definitely get toasty in those earpads after a short time. I’ve tested and used many headsets and headphones playing Warzone and give or take a couple of metres, they all provide the same distance in hearing footsteps which around 28-33 metres. Beyerdynamic is definitely heading in the right direction and I hope they soon make a wireless headset.

Comfort is sub par but I don’t need these for more than a few hours at a time so it's not a dealbreaker. The mic has fantastic quality but it's a little quiet for my liking, especially when livestreaming or podcasting. Again not a huge deal I just haven’t found a good way to raise the volume without making my voice distort and the volume varies quite a bit depending on the audio drivers for the computer I’m using. It sounds louder on my Galaxy s22 and cheap chromebook than my $1500 gaming machine but I love that I can connect to the USB port on any of my devices and sound almost as good as I would through a decent external microphone You can use a shorter C to C cable and, at least to my untrained ears, get the same audio as you do through the longer included cord.
I haven't bought the MMX150, but I've had the MMX100, which is basically the same as the MMX150 just without the noise cancelling, and I've never had more uncomfortable headphones on my ears. Wearing them for any amount of time longer than 10 minutes made my ears hurt severely, because the depth of the ear pads is so low that the speakers just press directly onto the ears. I sent them back after trying them out for two days. The sound and mic quality was preem though.
Had a set of these a few months ago and returned them. Found them to be way too uncomfortable because of the earcups that are just too shallow. I don’t even have big ears.
Weird not having a sidetone option for the mic. Would think it would at least be an optional feature 🤔 love everything I'm seeing and hearing about these, but would like to have that sidetone on the mic as it annoys me when I can't hear myself talking on closed back headphones 😅
The mic does have side tone, that's one of the main things separating this from the analog mmx 100 model. In my experience it works well although it's a bit quiet so I have to lower the headphone volume, no big deal.
Their pretty much the same for sound. The MMX150 just has an augmented/transparency mode helping you hear the surroundings. Other than that, their the same.
How does the Augmented Mode work? Do i listen myself just like with an open headset? Or does it record myself and play the recorded sound through the headset?

@@mustaclient1210 it's not a perfect solution and not as good as sidetone tbh. So you may be disappointed. Have you considered something like the Corsair HS80?

Are you expecting to get in a new Cooler Master HAF 700 case in for review and a build? If you think the Corsair 5000t was expensive, this monster is $550.

I think it just uses the outside mics to make it live. There's certainly no delay
