Saw them during this tour as a new christian...blew me away then...blows me away now...one of the best songs ever written...of any decade of any genre...POWERFUL TRUTH
I buried my Mom 2013, my Dad August 2022 and my Mom's sister who was a second mom to me Oct 28 2022. All were saved, praise God. I miss them so much, but I know The King of Kings is coming back and they will be resurrected. I will meet them in the air. This song ministers to me so much!
There was a reason this band took off in the 80s and 90s. Volz and Schlitt? Are you kidding me? Talk about vocalists! Hartman on guitar is just the icing. These guys deserved every bit of their success.
I never knew who was the lead vocal on this song such a powerful and unique sound. I never knew who wrote this song. I bought the tape in the eighties and fell in love with this song and not of this World. I love the whole album. Now it's 2018 i finally know the talented Brothers in CHRIST who have Blessed my Life. I'm so Greatful I'm living today. To finally see your faces. I never seen you in person but your music and spirits make us one in CHRIST. Thanks Bob Hartman For letting GOD use you to write for his Glory. Thanks Greg Voltz for letting GOD use your. Unique vocal sound. Thanks to the whole Group Petra. Album Not of this World Will always. Be planted within my soul. It has encouraged me Greatly iwhen i first became a Born again Christian. In the. Eighties until now 2018. Love you Brothers.
Thank you so much for posting this. I discovered this song 2 years ago when my aunt passed away and it heals my soul every time I think about my loved ones in Christ passing away someday - even gives me hope for the day when I come to die. ❤❤❤
What an EXHILARATING song and voice! I was given this tape back in '91 by a street preacher right after recomitting my life to Jesus, and THIS song brought me to my knees as a rude awakening....still as profoundly AWESOME as when it was first released! GOD BLESS these men for putting my emotions to music and lyrics!💖⚘🌹🌱🌿
I discovered this doing today in 2022, from the end of the world, in the south of Chile. I have been so bless by this song that I had it in repeat all the afternoon and learning the lyrics. What a blessing this band and songs, and the voice of the vocalist, I listen to a rendition of this same song like from couple of years ago and the voice is the same and the zeal for the Lord.... inspires my heart. I'm a new follower, what a blessing, I wish i could have been in person in 1 concert in my life
@@arronmiller7229 My sentiments Arron 100%! If with Kansas or any other secular band (many great bands) but how many souls would have been saved. Petra lead 10's of thousands to Jesus, Greg was faithful to his calling. Many crowns in Glory!!
I was at this show! It was recorded at the old Greenville Memorial Auditorium (later torn down to make way for the Bi-Lo Center) in Greenville, S.C. I was about eight heads back on stage left. I have this DVD and the CD too! Thanks for posting it!
I saw them both, Volz and Schlitt When they came to Greenville, SC, at the Memorial Auditorium also. Wish they were still playing and would come to Lawton/Ft.Sill OK>
I recorded this song, GRAVE ROBBER 8 years ago in Portuguese version. I didn't know that today, in 2022, she would be so real. I lost my son aged 2 years 11 months and 4 days to Covid-19. Even if my request for healing for my son has not been answered, I will continue praising Jesus, even with a wounded mother's heart, I will praise Him because I believe in the promise that Christ will return and take us to Heaven. I'm going to find my son so I can never part. ruclips.net/video/ZUyFt1kptvU/видео.html
@@Rick-qh2zu I liked the song fine when I bought "Not of this World," but I think it's fair to say that it hasn't aged well, and that its overall impact was pretty low. The song is based principally on a well-trod passage from 1 Corinthians 15 and aside from the innovation of comparing Jesus to a grave robber, it doesn't do much with that hook to draw listeners in. I don't recall "Grave Robber" specifically nor Petra generally getting a lot of airplay not specifically targeted to the Christian market. As such it was aimed at me and my peers, an audience already hearing the gospel from our churches, our youth groups and the other Christian-marketed musicians. That's my experience, though. It seems like you've found pleasure and meaning in the song, which I imagine would make Bob Hartman and the other band members happy to hear it was still doing.
I liked this song well enough back when it came out, but it hasn't aged well. That's just how it works. A product is served up for mass consumption, and while it sells well initially, it often lacks staying power. Even musicians from the golden age of Jesus music like Keith Green, Randy Stonehill and Daniel Amos have their share of songs that are best forgotten. Most contemporary Christian pop today will fall into this category too, and for the same reasons.
Nothing against John Schlitt, but Greg X. Volz was always my favorite, he has some awesome pipes/vocal chords.
Amen !
Absolutely better
Unfortunately I stopped listening after Greg left. This combination was Petra to me. He is coming to my hometown in a couple of weeks.
Wasn't the same without Greg, wasn't Petra
The best song of 1983.
period
This was their best time, IMO. I took a high school friend to the concert and she became a Christian there.

Greg X Volz...what an amazing talent.
This song still gives me chills!!!!
I have always liked Greg X Volz. It's too bad that he had to leave Petra. Have a God blessed life.

Greg X. Volz, one of my favorite voices! Have always loved this song!
Amen
my most favorite song of all time...of all music
It took me a while to appreciate just how profound the lyrics to this and many other Petra songs are. I'm kinda bummed that I never saw them live.
each song is like a mini bible study...love that they were always scriptural instead of just 'encouraging"
Essa música é linda! Puro louvor! I from Brazil. 2024
Wow! I was lucky enough to see PETRA in concert three times, and Greg Volz was lead singer in two of the three concerts. We need them back, NOW!
Volz voice is so unique and cool!! for me it is Petra's best voice
He had the chops to make it big in the secular world if he wanted to, but he's dedicated life to serving God. Respect.
One of my favorite songs of all time.
Same
Same here.
The lyrics to this song are so deep. Truly a great song.
Concordo plenamente.
Greg X Volz is still my favorite. God bless him.
Great song to listen to on Resurection Sunday... Love this song!
Nice
3:57 he has amazing vocal control.
For me he is the best vocalist from Petra. In some songs he hits the highs like a liric tenor!
I tend to agree but I liked more Petra songs with John.
to me volz makes petra . i guess that's because he was with them when i first started listening.

Loved it, love it, and will love this song....i can relate the song to my Christian journey...
Beautiful song and still so relevant in 2022! Love it!
I like both equally. It is their message that makes me love the band the most!!
Gotta love Volz!
2022 and it's still such a powerful song

killer mix for back in the day
True, but I like them both! Blessings Josh
Great song. This one is a classic. Been listening to this for many years.
Love this song. Petra forever.
Amen
Their 50th anniversary tour was absolutely amazing. I expected it to be decent but never expected tremendous
He should have sang with Kansas... he definitely has one of the greatest voices ever!!! Like Steve Walsh! 💙

What feel! This IS music..
The deepest song I've heard and great voice
One of.... Evie's "This Life" and Andre's "My Tribute" are alongside "Grave Robber"....
Amen 🙏❤️❤️❤️
Hey brother John Schitt is a wonderful singer. :)
Yes they both have great voices but Greg's voice is so unique and he is the voice that started Petra :)
Steve Leidy. Greg's voice is just so much better than John Schiltt's is. I agree with you.
Awesome
I think the best petra tracks all feature Greg. His pipes are unrivaled
Wow, that was great!
They were just in Bartlesville Ok. recently, unfortunately I wasn't able to get tickets and go see them, but they are still amazing to this day!

I really enjoyed listening to Greg X Volz's music & his songs!!
Uma verdadeira revelacao do amor de Deus em forma de musica...perfeita!
For you James (Feb. 28, 2016)
SENSACIONAL
obrigado a voce amigo por nos presentear com este clipe maravilhoso.
Great video and great group. It looked like John Lawry on keyboards to me.
I am ready for Jesus Christ.
Classic!
I saw them both, Volz and Schlitt When they came to Greenville, SC, at the Memorial Auditorium also. Wish they were still playing and would come to Lawton/Ft.Sill OK>

Its Mark Lowrey.

Schlitt was not with Petran at that time...he joined later
Wrong. Delp sounds like Volz.
Stp ChemTrails NOW!~!!!!!!! Matthew Chapter 10.
"I'll take 'Embarrassingly Bad Christian Pop Songs from the 1980s' for $100, Alex."
You'd rather hear the formulaic crap out there today? You don't belong here.
Even if you don't like the music, you can't deny the message it's impact.
