Pauper is the right competitive format for people that can't afford or don't want to buy a nice bowling ball. Very competitive. But not really supported by wizards for prize pools. Because they want you playing with newer products. It's just how business goes. I'm convinced that pauper should be basically cash game tournaments.
Honestly i don't want wizards "supporting" it because they'll just break the format line they do with everything else. They're not interested in making a good game, they just want to push packs with broken crap. Pauper and Pioneer are the last bastion of good magic.
@@kalikaiz A part of the reason I got into it is because fnm promos used to be common pauper legal cards a lot of the time. Secret Lairs sets have a lot of staples, too. It just seems rare to find an lgs that hosts pauper that often. And it's not like we're going to see Pauper on the pro tour anytime soon. I'd play on MTGO, but I don't have the PC setup for it. I'm a paper only kind of guy these days.
Nice and spicy! I agree that the spitter combo would be better in a traditional storm shell. Needing to run the ruby creatures, spitter, scatter and safekeeping takes up a lot of space.
I feel like this deck lack ~2-3 lands (oliphaunts?) - most of your games looks like you want to play dual on your first turn. And second thing I noticed - there is not enough card draw.
If you are going this route, isn't Marauding Blight-Priest + Weather the Storm just superior? Weather can buy a lot of time if you fizzle, and you open up 4 slots since you don't need the indestructible effect.
@@ValerieEnriquez yeah the shell is better, win con is still sus, probably worse than blight priest and weather the storm, but thats whats worth finding out
You should look at Thunder Salvo from Outlaws of Thunder Junction. It lets you get away with not having to give it indestructible since its all at one time.
@@kalikaiz Yeah even with the regular build, playing against blue is brutal. Last week I played against two faeries/ninjas decks and one terror deck and went 0-3. I only had 4 Red Elemental Blasts after sideboarding; they had nonstop answers. :(. I still really like this and want to give it a shot (plus the image of the spitting dinosaur is funny and reminds me of that scene in Jurassic Park), especially with the Scattershot storm possibility. I'm tempted to keep Flaring Pain in the sideboard since I play against decks that run Prismatic Strands fairly often.
TBH I don't really understand what the transformative SB plan is trying to achieve; IIRC the whole point of a transformative SB is to change into a deck that isn't vulnerable to their SB hate and yours clearly doesn't do that
I don't think mono red storm can stand a chance at ALL against blue decks. The biggest problem is not actually getting card advantage and jamming a bunch of reckless effects. Maybe there is some other cost reducer based deck that could work
I really like the idea, but there was some weird sideboarding in some of the games. You can also turn the deck into a "semi-beater" deck by switching in all the creatures and keeping the impulse draws + some rituals, not sure how you would apply it and against what decks, but it is a thing that could be done if one wanted.

@@ChristianEdwards-i9r I like pauper because I like how it's better at being a format where you can get scrappy to win
@kalikaiz right. It's spell slingy. Nobody really has any excuses for losing based on finances etc. But I understand why wizards doesn't support it.
@ChristianEdwards-i9r yeah wotc could really make so much money on supporting it and printing premier arts

The way Safekeeping works as a cost reducer protector & a combo piece is elegant deck building.
@@xboxgamer474246 thanks!

yeah tbh any time you put more than 2 cards in your combo it's almost just dead in the water in a storm deck haha

Crazy tech idea for this deck: running more copies of thornscape so you can play apostle's blessing as additional protection.
What would take out of the deck for the apostle’s?
yeah at some point there is just too much fluff. Blessing + Thornscape is Force of will though which rules
Hey Kali love the videos. I was wondering if there was a way to do a donation deck video as a one off instead of subscribing to the patreon?

Important: ALWAYS discard the first rite of flame, it's basically + 1 mana on second one.
Except that there’s very few ways to discard it in this deck, and even though I don’t think that’s a general good idea.
