context for the bamboo doll, if anyone’s interested;
i think it’s based on a old japanese fairytale ( i think it’s called “kaguya”) where a old man is cutting down bamboo stalks when he finds a baby in them. he adopts the baby and she grows up to bring him looks of gold and stuff.
there’s another item in game like it as well, it’s like a peach that opens up with a baby in it. that’s also based on a fairytale, called “momotaro” where a woman is washing clothes by a river when she finds a giant peach and she cuts it open for dinner and finds a kid in it
i have no idea why there’s no many stories like that but yeah. idk i thought it was interesting to share.

There is an AMAZING animated movie on netflix about that story. Kaguya-hime no Monogatari or "The tale of the princess Kaguya".

@@zuckersaft9748 yeah japanese fairytales are odd lol, i just read one called “hana” about this guy named zenchi naigu who has this really big nose and gets plastic surgery to fix it, then reverses the plastic surgery. it was all written in old japanese and it was super confusing to read but it was really weird lolll

If you have managed to get the materials to craft any gold items, I think those would look really good in a shrine to the money tree. Or maybe put a simple well next to it, and some 100 bell coins as a wishing well?

Hey Dan, I just got an idea. I think you should put that this is a diy island on the billboard next to resident services bc then people will appreciate how awesome it looks more.

I think the regular stone fence would look a bit better around the money tree, it would lean into the "been here since the beginning" vibe, but also, the poor tree looks like it's in prison now with the iron fence. 😂 I think the stone fence might have softer edges on the corners too, which would go better with the cool pathing shape you made.
I was going to restart my island for the Rags to Riches challenge but I am really enjoying your series for this challenge so may do this instead! Thanks for all the great videos Dan! Love how creative you are with what limited DIYs you have 😊

I like how right next to the musicians with the donation box is fenced off money tree. That tells a story
(spoilers for campsite villager) i am So Mad that i’ve been looking for pietro for ages and you just happened upon him in ur campsite without trying. then again, i’m glad i get to watch him wander around your island at least lol
A true mood is laying in bed procrastinating and watching this while you wait for your Ritalin to kick in
Haha yeaaah I hate the mechanic where villagers just invite themselves over when you’re just trying to get changed, access storage, or decorate your house. It’s gotten to a point where I avoid going in my own house unless a villager asks to visit my house, or I set the clock to 2AM where I’m less likely to be bothered.
I would love to give my votes to villagers for this series, but since it's so close to ending, I feel like my votes are better spent trying to get Fauna up to top 10. She deserves it. Look how cute she is.

You should have a stall at the farmers' market that's hand-made backpacks or wearable purses. You have the word one and now the bamboo one.
