  • We are pleased to share with you another fantastic and complimentary video as you practice for Calgary 2014! Inside, you'll see Grant forging a Tennessee Navicular shoe forged of 16mm (5/8" square) 10" long (15 min) barstock. The shoe is fullered, has 6 nail holes (all punched for Mustad Libero ARC 5) the toe is to be rockered, and fit to foot. Video credit: Chad Chance

I can see his hands working and the shoe taking form but it still seems like black magic to me!

how dose one dislike a video about forging a horseshoe, was he holding the hammer incorrectly?!, the internet... also where you buy those type of hammers, I seem to be limited to a fine selection of ball peen hammers in ireland

mustad has those hammers. I think it is the standard mustad hammer! you can buy them at mustad or Werkman horseshoes!

Isn’t slag just impurity’s leaving the metal.. i that’s the case could you hit it enough that it’s soo pure eventually there is no more slag coming off it
