Thank you for this memorial. It is sad to see the majority of singers died relatively young. Early seventies. God takes these angel voices back to be with him.
Having been a former radio announcer in the 80's, I knew and interviewed so many of these folks. Later in life due to marriage, i became closer to Howard and Vestal. So many friendships remained for years. I am thankful for the years I spent in the industry and for marrying into a musical family. I have truly been blessed.
Their songs were their TESTIMONY of God's GOODNESS, GRACE, MERCY, I miss them. Surely (THE Big CHOIR in Heaven), is about ready fill up. Then Jesus Christ, may come, welcome his people home! No more crying,dying, sickness, fear, loneliness, bills, Just The Beautiful FAMILY of God, Praising around the throne of Jesus Christ! GOD, the HOLY Spirit, Angel's. Heaven is Real !
When i think about this all saints, a song comes in my heart titled When the saints go marching in and also how beautiful heaven must be. They are't died but they are sleeping still we join them at the morning resurection. May God help us living 🙏
All are missed tremendously, the newer Homecomings still find me looking for the old, familiar faces. Glen, George, Vestal and Harold are missed most by me because I've never seen such hearts for Jesus. The love they had for Him absolutely radiated from each of them when they sang His praises!

As a new immigrant in Montreal who sang in the choir from my childhood, the Gaither Gospel show was quite a home away from home and brought back many memories from my childhood. Oh how l used to look forward to and enjoy the Christmas carols from those great singers. After l started trucking across North America in 2005 l unfortunately lost track of the family and saw the show on rare occasions. I therefore didn't know of these huge losses until now.Thanks y'all for the memories and rest in the mellifluous peace of heaven. Amen
Thank you so much for this. AS an African American, oddly I grew up with so many of these wonderful people of God. I grew up in/on Hawaii, and I was alone a lot. There was a radio program that would play these various artist, and I loved it. My Father was an attorney and one of his clerks would play this kind of gospel music, and it was special to me. As we fall to the 90"s and I began school at the University of Tennessee , where I would work @ Dollywood and OH how it was probably one of the best times in my life. I got to see so many of these in the video and even did some background singing. They all spoke into my life and I am better for ever having the said opportunity to listen and love gospel music....
What a beautiful tribute to all of these amazing pioneers, leaders and legends of Gospel Music. Such a loss to the world. We will miss their musical talent but mostly the examples they set for us on how to live your and how to treat others along the way like Jesus taught us. God Bless them all. Now they are reunited with friends and loved ones that have gone before them. Pain and heartache are things of the past. They are happy in Paradise and lending their musical talents to Heaven’s choir! How joyous for them and for God!! ❤❤❤❤

I’m glad for this sample of a few that passed on.

I remember getting rousted out of sleep early on Sunday mornings by the clarion voice of Vestal Goodman (and the Happy Goodman Family) singing: "JUBILEEEE! JUBILEEEE! We will sing and praise the Gospel Jubilee!" If I was not awake by then, my dad would throw ice-water in my face!
So painful we can't even stop them from meeting their creator humm Anthony was my favorite instrumentalist rest in peace heroes. Lord help me to live my lifetime for you only to seek, find and walk with you. Amen
My husband and I loved all of these people. They were instrumental in bringing him back to the Lord & saving him! I absolutely love the new vocal band. They carried me through Covid and 4 recent surgeries. Looking forward to seeing them in Hershey in 3 weeks! God Bless you all!💕💕💕
My husband and I went to a Gaither Concert in Dallas, Texas and Anthony Burger was the pianist. He did a solo performance of " Exodus" . I leaned over to my husband and whispered, " I can play this on the piano." As usual, Anthony tore it up. Just shredded it. When he finished smoke poured from the piano. My husband leaned over to me and said, " Can you play it like that?" LOL! I laughed, shook my head and smacked him lightly on the arm. LOL! Great memories!
😢so sad that they are gone, but we will hear them all sing again in Heaven…. And tears will never stay in the streets of that city…. And no wreath of death on our mansions’ doors…Dottie, your music will live on forever. ✝️❤️

Don't forget Naomi Sego ( Naomi & the Sego Bros.) died 2017. Saw her on few Gaither shows. In soutgern gospel long time. Seems like she & bros had the first million seller of gospel song "Sorry, I Never Knew You" in early 1960s.
The Bible says to be absent what the body and present with the Lord yes when the trumpet does sound the dead in Christ shall rise first and those who remain will meet him in the air play friends our loved ones that are going on before they are with the Lord

I’ve been around most of these guys sharing the stage or just meeting them at NQC and I could write a book on there advice they have given me sweet memories 30 years on the road being with them great advice

Personally I’d say Anthony was a little bit better than Dino. His piano playing was brilliant. There’s so many in the homecoming family that have passed on. A couple of them, I didn’t even realize that they passed. So many heart attacks. Many were around my mom’s age. Sadly she also passed at the age of 75 just this year. She loved the Gaither groups. Grew up hearing them throughout the house. I used to think they were only for old people. But I do enjoy them now too.
I got turned on to The Gaithers, and Vestal Goodman, & the others back in the late 80's while living in Miami, FL. Their gospel hour would come on every Sunday morning and it would be nothing but 'good ole' Gospel singing. I enjoyed how much they enjoyed their songs and singing.
One of these days I'll stand beside a piano and sing while Anthony plays beautiful music inside the pearly gates of heaven What a day that will be.
Gonna be ONE GRAND REUNION when the HEAVENLY CHOIR gathers to sing ONCE AGAIN FOR ETERNITY🙌 🎶 ☝️💖 😊
