No ATV we don't that is Mike Mash motors territory, he builds them all the time and is located in Kansas. Very honest and turns out a top notch product.
Thanks Jacob, however then you will only "almost" find true driving joy, LOL. These trucks are a blast to drive!! Just Pure RAW POWER. but with a luxury ride.
Holy Cats! That's one clean install. Awesome! I have a 1996 2 door Tahoe Sport 4x4 with a 7.5 fisher plow, and a 2000 F350 Lariat Supercab 8' bed diesel 4x4. A bigger truck and a smaller truck. A diesel 4 door Tahoe might be just right in between. What is a good year and options to look for in a Tahoe that might suite it best to one of your conversions?????
Yes the 1500 cost 1700.00 more at this time. There is a option to go to the 10.5 or 11.5 full floater rear differential while maintaining the 4 link, a option is also available to switch out the front hubs and braking system but there is no option for the 9.5" 2500 front diff as it is to wide to fit in the frame rails.
The front axles on the GM IFS system are locked automatically when 4X4 HI or LO is selected, in the AutoTrack system the front locks momentarily on slip or traction loss. No need to even get out of the vehicle.
We are doing a 3500 2004 P/U next week that was a 8.1 blower motor and its getting a LMM, though its not really cost effective since you can buy a Duramax P/U for less then the 16-18K typical interrogation cost.
No, the2003-2006 as well as the 2007-2012 are both on newer communication platforms that are not compatible to the 2000-2002 SUV. It would need to be a 2001-2002 LB7 Duramax
How much would a conversion to 4x4 be for a 2000 suburban 1500? I live in orange county, but orange county, California. Ive asked multiple places and none give me quote. Btw you guys do amazing work.
Yea 20-30 is about right, we arnt in this to get rich just raise our families and maintain the shop, thats all really. Yes we have a few 07-09 trucks coming up but they are in the 50's due to the 25K tag on the SUV and the 15K tag on the donor. Banks will loan on the newer low mileage stuff but only NADA "LOAN" value. No payment plans sorry.
We only do what our customers request Non have ever requested a sub par ride condition that is obvious with a straight axle However if you want one in a Duramax SUV build we would be happy to oblige
Does it cost more to do a 1500 4x4 compared to a 2500 4x4? Do you leave the original 1500 axles in, or put the bigger 2500 front and rear axles in the 1500?
Hello I've got a question regarding the front end of the trucks. What's needed to convert it to the HD front clip? If you could pm with the specifics I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
Is it possible for you guys to swap a duramax into a GMT400 body style 3500HD c. 2001 that already has the Vortec 8100/allison AT? that is the last year of that body style I believe and would make a great tow rig without having to swap a Cummins or someother diesel into the truck.
have you guys put a 2012 duramax/allison tranny in a 2002 chevy 1500 Z71? cause i might be getting a 2002 chevy 1500 Z71 and i would love a duramax swap with the allison tranny. and sorry to sound dumb but im new to this lol
It can be done but wouldn't be cost effective really, We do it when we have the whole SUV torn down to a bare frame. You would be better off to sell it and buy another honestly.
They just arn't in a position to build nitch vehicles right now, if you search 2010 Duramax Suburban you'll see a prototype 4.5 truck they were toying with but with thier financial break down they are in no position to toy with this market and scraped the idea altogether.
Honestly it isn't cost effective. The integration of a Duramax into a P/U is the same as a SUV and since you can buy a Duramax P/U We do have a moral obligation to advise you that you wont get your money back out of it
Nicely done Eric

Would almost buy one :-). Well done, Jacob
on the old body style its just the grille and bumper cover for a 2001-2002 3500, the domed hood completes the look and is interchangeable as well.
Thanks Jim, just another day at the shop.
superior work
Thanks, it's a fun job.
I really like that setup. Would be so happy if i could own one i often why gm has not made a stock version yet.

Many, we work closely with Ca emission referees to ensure easy approval. We have never had a SUV turned away.

Yep you're right but with almost 100 SUV's to date we have only only built 1 2WD, and that was my personal Tahoe.

Its based on a job by job basis but you can figure turn key its about 15-18K on 03-06 SUVs and 23-26K on 07-10 models
2003 and up, go to DuraBurbinc and in the 30 or so SUV's you will find some
Have you thought about doing a Solid Axle Swap vs a IFS in your conversion?
No, the2003-2006 as well as the 2007-2012 are both on newer communication platforms that are not compatible to the 2000-2002 SUV. It would need to be a 2001-2002 LB7 Duramax

I have a mid eighties suburban, is it possible to install a modern duramax or cummins into it? This is very cool by the way.
sure just go to our DuraBurb RUclips channel and there is an 04 there with a 07 LBZ Mileage improves 20-25%

How many mpg does this beauty get?
These trucks are awesome! However, I drive a 98 k2500, and it's gas. Do you guys offer a conversion for my truck, and what would it cost.
Do you do conversions on tahoe's as well? What kind of gas mileage do the suburbans/ tahoes get?
hey could you make me one of those that has pozy and where i can lock hubs

hmmmm yea I guess let me see and I'll do one on a Tahoe or Suburban. It's the same though as a crew cab short bed.
ahh but the LB7 is still good right?
@DuraBurbinc could u put a vortec 8100 in my 96 K1500 tahoe?
No sorry we only work within the (2000-current) GMT800-900 platforms
About how much would this cost?
Any successfully registered CA customers?
No sorry we only work with the GMT800 & 900 SUV's
Yes if we are converting it to diesel, but this isn't cost effective as you can buy a 4x4 diesel silverado.
no sorry but the way we keep this cost effective is by staying within the GM body to engine protocol.
It can be done but wouldn't be cost effective really, We do it when we have the whole SUV torn down to a bare frame. You would be better off to sell it and buy another honestly.

No sorry we stop at 2003
Honestly it isn't cost effective.
