WOW I have the far and fine 7'9" Clearwater in a 5wt. It handles a four line well and I use it often at the canyon....sulfur time rocks on the little J...... Great vid!!!!!!!!
Very well done w/ nymphs. Have you tried stripping big streamers if there's no ongoing hatch coming off?? You may hook up larger fish with bigger sculpin imitations, bigger fish move for bigger meals. Good luck!
Great video.. random question.. i like how you have your net set up with the magnet near the top of the basket instead of the handle. How do you have it attached?
Thanks! My net has a built in swivel and key chain holder near the basket of the net. Most nets do not have this accessory near the net. They have it near the handle. I believe my net is made by Solstice if you are interested.
The combination of the strong current and the strength the fish develop from living in that strong current results in the Little J having some of the hardest fighting fish in the state. Looks like levels are up a bit here so that only intensifies the effect.
Robert Payne oh yea I sure miss the pull of a little J fish! Thanks for watching the video Robert. Love seeing all of the beautiful fish you catch out of that river.
Nice video Dan! Were you near Barree or Spring Creek? That was a really nice fish you had on for a little bit! I bet you would have landed him if you would have followed him downstream a little and got him out of that fast water, it's hard to land a 20 inch fish in fast stuff like that!
That's a nice stretch of water (below the RV park and the handicap access) and it gets mostly ignored. Throw ants and beetles down through there in late summer, before the leaves get too bad.
D Wetick I fish a bead head nymph 99% of the time. There were no fish rising and very little bug activity on that day. So a nymph pattern was the way to go. Thanks for watching!
Super cool video! Like how you showing what you're using and rig setup, helps a lot of guys, keep up the good work 🎣
Thanks! Glad I could help you out!

Love it bro!!! It’s very hard to self film and catch fish too!! I wish she had water like that this year... I hope it doesn’t kill all this fish !!!!!
Scott Nock thanks for watching!
I fished that river before you were born and not too many people new those trout were in there
11/10 would watch again, all jokes aside though good video
Aidan Rage thank you! Glad you liked it!

What Rod and Reel did you use in this video
This is a 10 foot 4 weight orvis clearwater. The reel is also a clearwater reel. Thanks for watchig!
Nice Video..Did you ever Dry Fly fish the Sulphur Hatch?
Yea I caught some on dries in this video
I will have to give you another view and watch it again. I guess I missed it
What tripod do you use?
Just a regular tripod you can buy at Walmart. I wish I had a heavier one though, I have lost many cameras because the tripod tips over hahaha.
Ok, I will keep that in mind!
Thanks for watching!
Aaa the grief
Next time show us your 2 fly hook up please.
Wet hands are best if you have to handle trout.
That bottom fly is a stonefly. Looks like one anyway
You're fishing a bead-head during a sulfur hatch? I don't even own a bead head fly.
D Wetick I fish a bead head nymph 99% of the time. There were no fish rising and very little bug activity on that day. So a nymph pattern was the way to go. Thanks for watching!
I wonder how the biggest trout you've hooked in your life would have fit in the smallest net I've seen in my life, lol
Another hatchery fish...fed with pellets....porr little fish.
These are all wild trout. Thanks for watching!
You are right!!
they stop stocking trout in 2010.
Good luck!!
There are some stocked rainbows that get out of spruce creek and go into the little J. Thanks! Good luck to you as well!
