Mine was a song called “Yıldızların altında”. It was a basic riff, based on power chords with the rest of the song. Still, everyone loves it and I still play it.
I think I was 11, and in Seadrift, Texas, at a cafe, with a band that was practicing. They showed me House of the Rising Sun. Of course I didn't get any of the chords with my little fingers. But I was so impressed, and bugged my dad enough. My cousin gave me a guitar and my life began.
Heh, me too but we called it “Pipeline” lol. My dad was in a Ventures cover band when he was a young man and taught me a bunch of their tunes when I first started playing guitar. It’s funny because a lot of Ventures songs were actually covers so I was doing covers of covers lol
That’s Pipeline by the Ventures not Wipe Out. I learned that from the “ Play with the Ventures” albums my dad got me when he bought me an electric guitar. He got me that album, an electric guitar and an amp for me at a flee market. This was in 1986, I was 11 years old.
The first riff I remember learning was the theme song for The Last Of Us, I tried to play when I was around 8 and gave up when I was 10 because I thought my hands were too small. But when that game came out and I was 14-15, I was DETERMINED to learn it 😂
The first riff I ever played was Tornado of Souls, and I played it perfectly the first time I ever picked up the guitar. Sadly, I got knocked out and lost all my memory of how to play, and had to learn like a normal person.
Don't tell anyone but the first riff I learned was...Smoke on the Water, played incorrectly of course. THAT song should be forbidden in guitar shops. Automatic removal from the property.
Martin, she’s playing the wrong song. Hop down off your soapbox for a second and listen to the clip. Pointing out a mistake isn’t attacking someone…it’s pointing out a mistake.
I faked it 12 yrs old walking the streets in the 70s. O 3 4 5 4 3 0 . Extra notes the open and 5 fret. Completely wrong. First thing I figured out.. fun riff though.
When I learned it they called it "Pipeline" ;)
Yup. The Chantays
🎼… down that E-string.✌️
lol yeah exactly wipeout is a different song
Go easy on her, lads… she’s only 17. We lived it, she’s learning it.
@@iVenge he should know better though.
Not Wipe Out. That’s the rhythm lick for Pipeline.
Aka wipeout
@@jwr2904 No--two different songs.
@@jwr2904 NO
Mine was Sunshine Of Your Love, followed by Misirlou.
Misirlou was the first song I practiced. Easy for beginners because play 1 string
@@THELAWTHRDR2

of You're Love " but on Fender Bass.
1968.

Her Pipeline Wipe’d out!
Mine was a song called “Yıldızların altında”. It was a basic riff, based on power chords with the rest of the song. Still, everyone loves it and I still play it.
One of my first riffs was crazy train and "you are my sunshine" as my first full simple song
She reminds me of Nancy Wilson
Brings back memories - my first riff was Secret Agent Man (it was the mid-60s)
Mine was twinkle twinkle little star
Heh, me too but we called it “Pipeline” lol. My dad was in a Ventures cover band when he was a young man and taught me a bunch of their tunes when I first started playing guitar. It’s funny because a lot of Ventures songs were actually covers so I was doing covers of covers lol
Johnny Cash I walk the line
My Dad taught me that song. It was my first riff also. And it was the same way as you played it.
First riff I learned was the solo from REO Speedwagon’s ‘I’m gonna keep on loving you’
Yeah, about sums it up right there
My first song was Louie Louie by Neal Sedaka and the Beltones
We used to call it "PIPELINE" from The Chantays.
Oh well, everything changes.
Nothing changed she just said the wrong song
Love your videos Marty
My dad used to play in a band ( they played metallica covers) so he thought me the intro to one as my first riffs
but wipeout goes danananananadanananadanananadananana
That would drive me crazy limited vision 😮 first one was I walk the line.❤
funny enough in the early 2000s I learnt this riff as well
Someone in her immediate family has a lot of money and connections
Yea my uncle taught me that as my first riff and he called it pipe line
That’s Pipeline by the Ventures not Wipe Out. I learned that from the “ Play with the Ventures” albums my dad got me when he bought me an electric guitar. He got me that album, an electric guitar and an amp for me at a flee market. This was in 1986, I was 11 years old.
She smiled more playing WiPeOuT than she did listening to Shane Gillis on SNL.
wipe out is the one with the snare drum accented rolls, that's pipeline.
The first riff I remember learning was the theme song for The Last Of Us, I tried to play when I was around 8 and gave up when I was 10 because I thought my hands were too small. But when that game came out and I was 14-15, I was DETERMINED to learn it 😂
Hey Marty been watching you since like 2009. Thanks for all the vids my brother, keep up the good work
The first riff I ever played was Tornado of Souls, and I played it perfectly the first time I ever picked up the guitar. Sadly, I got knocked out and lost all my memory of how to play, and had to learn like a normal person.
Wipeout is a drum. Feature song

Never heard that being called wipeout before
Mine was what most did, Smoke on the Water.
Yeah, followed by Iron Man. Then a cool kid in the neighborhood showed me the opening to Tie Your Mother Down.
Fire😊
mine was de musica ligera by soda stereo
Don't tell anyone but the first riff I learned was...Smoke on the Water, played incorrectly of course. THAT song should be forbidden in guitar shops. Automatic removal from the property.
Smoke on the water!
I don't know what she's playing but it still sounds like she never learned how to play wipeout. Unless I've been playing it wrong since the 80's. 😉
Martin, she’s playing the wrong song. Hop down off your soapbox for a second and listen to the clip. Pointing out a mistake isn’t attacking someone…it’s pointing out a mistake.
She's got the song title wrong: the riff that she's playing is Pipeline, not Wipe Out. No big whoop.
@@tedjohnson5210 because shes a mediocre player at best and cant get the song title right. She's being groomed by grown men.
She's a total babe in every way.
Mine was The Unforgiven by Metallica, certainly took time to get better at that one!
Mine was simple man by lynyrd skynyrd
Ah je crois avoir trouvé, si c'est par rapport à un précédent live, je dois l'avoir.
Marty, why post Grace's error? Pretty sure you know that isn't Wipeout.
anyone who can’t find the song will check the comments and see it all over lol no biggie
Mine is Satisfaction
For a second I thought it was me yes that's pipeline although playing the song is much more important than knowing the name

For me it was Hideaway.
Mine was seek and destroy
thats NOT "Wipeout".......
I faked it 12 yrs old walking the streets in the 70s. O 3 4 5 4 3 0 . Extra notes the open and 5 fret. Completely wrong. First thing I figured out.. fun riff though.
What a coikidink, my cousin JoJo taught me my first riff and it too was Wipe Out by the Surfaris. Yours must be by a different band. LOL.
NOT WIPE OUT…. That was “pipeline” by the Chanteys
Too Funny!!
I didnt know Ms. Bellum played guitar
That’s not wipeout girl that’s pipeline.
For a second I thought the cover was Dave mustaine 🥴
War of the worlds was mine lmao
Just a thought. It’s a bad job by Marty. He could’ve just done a second take with the correct song title to protect the kid. Great job spazz.
That's Pipeline by the Ventures not wipe out
That's not wipe out its pipeline!
Mine was ghost rider, or is it called ghost rider in the sky?
For 6th grade show and tell.
