I have the first gen Blue Flame Monsoon and it's Elfin Amazing ! The neck reminds me of a Dean Vendetta neck. Almost the same, very sleek and fast. The pups are perfect for Metal. I play old school Thrash and 90s death metal and it's perfect for this. But Now, yea Now I'll have to buy a 2nd Gen ! No doubt !
We live in the golden age of budget guitars…Burl top ball frets alnico pickups under 230? Incredible.
Absolutely right , these budget brands have come along way in just the past 5 years. Honestly if I was looking for an SG or something similar I'd buy a Firefly over Epiphone , especially now that they're selling guitars for close to a grand and more. With no extras , I hope these budget brands are sending a message to the "name brand" companies that they're not worth their prices for what they're offering!
And the quality. They’re listening to the feedback and adjusting.

Nice Playing Glad they addressed the neck , The Pickup issues can be solved with foam Tip... But they fixed that as well awesome roasted neck. ANICO 5 Pickups.. The only Thing I would Change is make the pickups like Duncan INVADERS Donlis has Clones >> Purple & Black would Look KILLER on That Guitar... Love The Black Hardware... It would be interesting if they made a guitar like that with a Floyd Rose D-Tuner Locking Trem System.. Obviously more $$$$ $100 But Man What A total Shred Guitar that would be... Cheers 🍻🥃🥃😎🎸🎼🎵🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶

It's really a shame when a guitarist refuses to try or acknowledge that a guitar is good because the name on the headstock is "wrong." I bought a Dean Thoroughbred X (the cheap one from India), and I absolutely love that guitar. Feels great in my hands, plays great, sounds great. The blue Monsoon I have rivals it, at just about half the price ($430 vs $230). Just because price goes up does not mean quality goes up.
Some people just can't get over that name brand stigma and like paying more for less.
I tried 2 of these Leo Jaymes guitars and they were pure crap. Unlevel frets, intonation came crappy.
I stand by my previous remarks.
They are sending you tube guys good quality and most others are getting seconds.

@zoocru67 mine was, but I use a gate anyways. The active pup was decent. But, when they say in the video, that it's great, they should also say all the work put into it.

Leo Jaymes should take a page from Mitchell Guitars. The HD 400 (I have one) is made in China, has a slightly narrower neck than a Jem, floyd special, decent pups, but NO ss frets for about 399. I would rather Leo charge 499 with the ss frets. And better quality.
I want one but description doesn’t say x-jumbo frets. I want to make sure I’m not getting the old version

I love random star guitars.
My cousin works for a major guitar manufacturer and was in assembly for four or so years before moving elsewhere in the place. Without giving up too much detail the namebrand Guitar company that he works for you would recognize immediately if I were to say it and he swears all the guitars that he assembled are the same exact quality of guitars like we see above from these lesser name companies. The ONLY difference is the quality of hardware and pickups on these things. If you were to take this Guitar above and change it out with better tuners and Seymor Duncan pick ups you now all of a sudden have something just as high quality as a $1600 Jackson. You are literally just paying for a name and nothing more.

Mr. James, I'm no metal/shred-head fan, but your specs for what you want from a guitar differ very little from my blue/rock ones AND, I want to thank you for requesting a non-tremelo bridge. I despise tremelos, and often have trouble finding guitars that don't have them. Many thanks sir, I will receive my Jaymz monsoon in a few days, largely because of yours' and maxes' reviews.

I have a luthier made 6 string Iceman shape, neck-thru roasted maple satin neck, roasted maple fretboard with nice wood grain. A mahogany body with flamed maple top and nitro laquer on the body, the binding is made from purple heart. Full body/fretboard binding + the headstock. Graphtech nut, gotoh tuners, bridge and tailpiece. set Bare Knuckle nailbombs with the burnt effect. It's never about the name.
Don't sue me Ibanez😂😂
If the only change was that it said Jackson on the headstock, it would be 2-3 times the price! And people would pay it!

Looks sick. How do we know we're getting the new Monsoon with the thinner roasted neck, and not the old Monsoon with the thicker 21 mm at the 1st fret? The specs at the Leo Jaymz Amazon store still has the 21mm 1st fret specs listed.

Looks like nice upgrades for the 2.0! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻 If they really want to put a fork in the big boys, the 3.0 needs a CF reinforcement rods in the neck. I bet it can be done for just a few bucks more, if not the same price, if Leo Jaymz wants a major challenge! Would also love to see them toss in a small Solar Guitars style headstock string clip-on “thingy” to reduce overtones. (And sell them solo!)

@thebaldshredder Just want to thank you for your role in the Monsoon. I'm very new to guitar at almost 55, and I've been very frustrated trying to find an instrument I'm happy with. So much so, that I barely pick one up at all. After seeing your story about the Monsoon, and checking out some other sources, I decided to get one. Well, I got two. I really wanted a purple one, but it wasn't available on Amazon, so I got a blue one. My wife, though, found a purple one on eBay for half the price of a new one. They both arrived yesterday and have been patiently acclimating to my environment. I have a few things to do on them, but I'm really looking forward to getting back into it with these fellas. Maybe I am making too big a deal about really liking my guitar, but for me, I gotta want to pick it up. I need something that will inspire me to keep going. My other guitars, for one reason or another, don't. So thanks from an older beginner who wanted something just like a Monsoon. 🎉

@thebaldshredder Richard when I mentioned ceramic humbuckers I'm referring to Dimarzio or Guitar Fetish brand they both sound killer compared to Alinico 5 humbuckers, I have guitars with ceramic, Alinco 5, Active humbuckers EMG , Neodynium humbuckers and Alinco 7.

I picked up a Leo Jaymez SG for about 100 bucks because I wanted a 'beater black sabbath' guitar. It is one of my favorite players out of my guitars. Quite the surprise.

Blue package .008's are crazy fun to, just replace the .008 with a .009 keep the 8 for a spare. Wild bending fun and super fast as well 🔥

I am looking for a Classical Type Guitar, but that can be used for Heavy Metal. Meaning.... i need Classical Wide Board, not thing and short, also i need to be Nylone Strings, and it should have plug-in options, somehow.

"Cheap" guitars when I was a kid were KLUNKERS, just horrible in every way. There were no in-betweens either. it was either a $79 Sears special (with the exception of the Cort Effector) or something from the local guitar store for $500 plus.
Received this in blue burl on the 5th of July, shipped from Mississippi. Beautiful guitar. Looks way better than the pictures. It was packaged well. The QC is where the ball was dropped. The strings felt like someone drug sandpaper across them. Driest fretboard i have ever seen. Neck was adjusted with a bow, and the bridge saddles are jacked up to the ceiling. So after removing the strings, getting the neck straightened, rehydrated the fretboard, set the action. After hydrating the neck, the wood was to grainy when using vibrato or using bends. I sanded the fretboard smooth. After all this i really love this guitar. Bad presentation great guitar. All my issues were easy fixes for me, maybe not the next guy. I am actively searching Amazon for a violet burl. Yes buying a second one even if it has issues like my first one. Once the guitar is dialed in its a beast. Buy from Amazon and if its not ok just return it if you don't feel comfortable making small fixes. I did add locking tuners for easier string changes, remember reverse headstock when buying replacement tuners. The original tuners did work.

BTW I am selling my Leo Jaymz Tempest intonation Done it's from 2023 very little use, on marketplace in south bend indiana area nothing wrong with it. Color is a Vibrant Yellow and Greenish color.
it’s crazy now in the time that we live in you can get pretty decent quality for $230-$350 nowadays guitars 🎸 like this only need a new set of strings and a set up,back in my day when I was 13 in 1984 $230 will get you a barely playable piece of plywood that would sound like crap and you had no choice but to learn on it,times have changed for the better,i really wish guitars like this were available left handed
Wait until you play the Yamaha Pacifica 611hfm, forget big names on headstocks, you can have a good instrument without breaking your bank account

I'm still looking for perfect intonation. Even with my new Enya which has a perfect built in 2-speak amp and carbon composite body -un effected by climate. I still have not perfected intonation.

I went looking at JACKSON "S" styles & and was shocked to see how JUNKY Quality these cheaper ..few hundred Doloar Gtr's are. Plus the want to Be "FLOD ROSE" may be Lic. but is CRAP MATERIAL You really need to go BIG or go home if shopping for JACKSON. Just because Phil Collen has his PC-1 ( I which i'm sure it fine ) but our STores here in So Ca. don't sell High End GEAR like they did in the 80's. SWEETWATER is great but not buying a Guitar jujst by reading and looking at SPECS. You relly need to play it. I can always Buy few that I like and send rest back. ( pay the SHIPPING COST) IDK?

My favorite out of approx. 13 budget guitars still has to be my 2-Kramer Baretta Specials at 179. (When on sale) I sanded one down and made a EVH bumblebee out of one of them with very little modding. Waiting for a sale again for a third one that I want to paint with a Diver Down album look to it!
My favorite "Low-Mid" range guitars so far are Harley Benton.
That Leo looks nice though! Oh and my favorite setup too. 1-volume, No tone, a 3-way and a couple pickups..🙂

I love how huge and overly exaggerated the cut outs are. Almost liiks like its got horns. And it sounds and looks go. So what more could you ask for
