I probably know where the metal dude scores his manga in SF (Kinokuniya). He is looking for the niche stuff. Way more Japanese bookstores in SoCal (Los Angeles, Torrance, Irvine, San Diego, etc.). Even Texas has a big anime following. Plus local anime/comic conventions bring the occasional hidden treasure if you can find it.
