How accurate are they?? I bought one yesterday and it says alternator is good, but I took it to Oreilly for a second opinion and their meter say Low voltage, so I'm a bit confuse is bad or its not?
Hola! Si el indicador marca que todo está bien, pueda que el voltage esté algo bajo pero para el indicador pueda ser en el rango normal. La luz de la batería te prendió entonces Revisa con un multi metro y revisa el voltage, pueda que el alternador esté dando voltage bajo. Recuerda que los aparatos pueda que no capten lo que otros captarán. Saludos!
@@elchanojose 🙏 Gracias por la respuesta. Mira, el auto estuvo parado dos semanas! Cuando lo volví a usar se encendió el símbolo de la batería. El multimetro marcaba 12,4 sin arrancar y 13.4 con motor en marcha. Cargue la batería toda una noche pero no cargo nada!! El Multimeter ahora marca 12.9 y en uso sigue 13.4! Para mi el alternador trabaja, y la batería que no se deja cargar. Qué opinas?

So my question is if you're alone and have nobody to rev the engine for you and you have a vehicle that does not have a throttle cable or line that is reachable or even available to manipulate from under the hood how exactly with the 3 in of cable that you have connected from the tool itself to the battery do you read your results while you're revving your engine to 2000 RPMs??
I have one of these and thought the same until I used it. The cables are 3ft long. And the unit has magnets on the back. So you run cables between gap of hood and cowl then put unit on hood so you can see it through windshield. Hope that works for you.
From harbor freight i have a Pittsburgh alternator Battery tester i am only just to test lawn tractor batteries and cars and i recently bought a centech 12V alternator Battery tester not the plug into the cigarette lighter that im only going to use on car batteries

Jose, yo probe y segun el checker todo esta bien. Sin embargo el symbolo de la batería se enciende. Que puede ser?
