.600 winning percentage for a team built to win in the regular season sounds about right

600 winning percentage but how many rings ?

I agree with Michael Kay. If this ends up being the ONLY year we’ll have Soto in pinstripes then you gotta go for it at the deadline. Especially, when the bottom of the order in the offense & Rodon has been very problematic for the Yankees in the last month even if it means giving up Jones for something that’s gonna help the team now before October hits.

He needs to say things like, we need to play better as a team. We need to cut down on the base running mistakes and play hard. Say something that shows that players have some accountability.

That’s not going to help people hit better.

Boone doesn’t believe in accountability, otherwise he’d have been fired already

Boone is so positive. It’s makes me sick. I think it makes a lot of fans sick as well. He’s delusionally optimistic.

    • @nick4589
      @nick4589 Месяц назад +1

Exactly, Boone thinks grown players are too soft to be honest with the team and critical of mistakes. Saban was the complete opposite

It’s offensive to say there’s no logic in firing Boone when the team falls apart by August 15th consistently with no changes every year, Kay himself said Boone told him he believes in how the Yankees run it so he should go down with the sinking ship

600 winning percentage because he got to play the orioles 20 times and a young blue Jays as well as only a handful of other teams that weren’t actually trying to win

I urge the Yankees to trade Spencer Jones for Garrett Crochet to strengthen our pitching staff for the postseason.
Garrett Crochet’s high-90s fastball and devastating slider make him a dominant bullpen arm. As a 24-year-old lefty, he provides much-needed balance and high-leverage capability. Despite his youth, Crochet has proven he can handle pressure, including playoff situations.
Spencer Jones is promising, but our immediate need for reliable relief pitching outweighs his future potential. Crochet’s presence would give Aaron Boone more options, enhancing our postseason depth.
Acquiring Garrett Crochet now not only improves our current roster but also positions us for long-term success. Let’s seize this opportunity to reinforce our bullpen and push for a championship.

Bro you’re absolutely right prospects rarely turn into superstars and especially when they come from the Yankees system not known for producing superstars! I know everyone loves Volpe and Dominguez but they could have traded both a long time ago and been a far better team. If you claim that you are a win now team prospects should be trade chips, not players you are trying to wait on to develop.

Kay is incredibly stupid and obnoxiously arrogant in double down on his stupid
Multiple things can be true at once:
    1) Cash has constructed an underwhelming and shaky $300 M roster
    2) Aaron Boone has shown to be an enabler of poor play and a terrible in game manager
    3) The likes of a Cole or Judge or now Soto along with other pieces getting hot at different times and a consistently great bullpen (all hail Matt Blake) allow the Yanks to be usually very productive REGULAR SEASON TEAMS
.600 win percentage? No rings…6 years and two ALCS one in which they were swept
Cash isn’t good, Boone is awful, but they still are productive regular season teams who sell out home games so Hal will NEVER address the problems

I rarely agree with Kay but I have to agree we were much better and we can't hang out heads because our record is good but we were 30 games over now we like 19 that a BIG drop.

Cherry picking stats, as always. What’s Girardi’s winning percentage with the Yankees same amount of years, it’s close, finished 10 years with .562.
IF the Astros had 1 manager for the last ten years they’d be well over .600.
Boone is what he is. The Yankees front office has a savior complex when it comes to ballplayers that have underperformed. Boone loves playing to that “he’s gonna hit”, “back of his baseball card”, etc. They get renovation projects, add some new paint but end up with the same house. Michael Kay loves saying “puts lipstick on a pig”, that’s what the Yankees have done under the Cashman regime.
Any GM with that bankroll will have great seasons. The construction of the roster is the problem and always has been. They cannot win in the playoffs. They’ll even run into a championship - 09. They overpay, take on bad contracts, hold on too long for what they perceive as potential
If we’re cherry-picking numbers, how many WS titles since 01. If we’re basing Yankees baseball off of that, 1. 1 in almost a quarter century.
So if Cashman isn’t the problem, and Boone isn’t the problem, who’s the problem? Cashman constructs the rooster… analytics, personal, whatever. Yankees biggest problem is the Yankee culture/mystique they’ve been living on from the past century. They’re a spoiled kid that blames the world when it doesn’t go their way, tells you how amazing they are when they’re playing well, and at the end, goes home early talking about who they used to be.
This Yankees team, last 20 years for arguments sake, are a “nepo baby” of their parents, and that’s on Cashman.
“A nepo baby, short for nepotism baby, is the child of an actor, musician, producer or other industry insider who has likely benefitted from their parents’ fame or connections while launching their own career”.
Replace with- a team who has likely benefitted from their parents’ fame or connections while launching their own career”.
Yankees need a look in the accountability mirror. If the statement is, playoffs are the goal, great, time for the fan base to take a look in the accountability mirror and find a team that wants to win championships every year.

Why are they playing DJ?, it is so clear he is done, he can’t hit. Play Cabrera and bring up Vivas and play him!, but they won’t, they will stick with DJ until even a blind man can see he is done.

The Yankees will not make the playoffs because of: Nestor, DJ, Grisham, Gleyber, Holmes, the mish mash bullpen, Rodon. Ultimately, these below replacement players drag down Soto and Judge and Cashman is responsible and he should be fired.

Think about this the Mets are a better team maybe not record wise right now but they are a much better lineup than the Yankees that’s sad considering the Mets don’t have anything close to Soto or Judge, now that’s amazing!!! This just shows how bad at his job Brian Cashman is, he is a complete failure and he has made a career off a championship dynasty he had nothing to do with!
