- "Tri-recs" units, usually a triangle in a square rather than a rectangle, are a common feature in patchwork quilting. They are easily made using Tri-Recs Rulers, but if you don't have specialty rulers or need a size to big for your ruler, here's the secrets to making them easy peasy with regular ol' cutting methods.

Thank you so much for this tutorial. I need to make four of these blocks for a special project and have a small amount of fabric waste, is so much better then spending 20+ on a specialty ruler I don't really need. I get frustrated that quilters get so focused on wasting fabric. It's not like very many of us are fabric poor. Thank you again!!
