I sold my Z6 and the Fujifilm X-T4, now I only have the zfc, for me as an amateur photographer it is completely sufficient and it is fun to go out with this lightweight setup

If we're talking lightweight, wouldn't other Fuji cameras make more sense? X-S20 or X-T30 II would be smaller, lighter (including the lenses), and ergonomic on paper while still having retro looks. Did I miss something on the Zfc?

I hear what you are saying. The Xt4 prob isn't much bigger than the ZFC.

Thank you for the informative video. You have answered my questions. I love my Z8 and, as you said was your user-case, hope to travel with the Z8 and the ZFC.

They are a nice pair, they complement each other well, just try to find a cheap one!

The Zfc was my first mirrorless camera and even though I now own the Zf I still use the Zfc for when I want to go light weight and put in my jacket pocket.

I own it, love it. But it does feel cheap. Wish it had brass top and bottom like my Pentax MX-1.

Now that they announced Z50ii maybe ZFCii will have what we want

The lightness is an advantage for me, as the Z fc is a second body and I am trying to save weight. It’s supposed to be magnesium alloy but does feel a little plasticky. My biggest complaint is actually that the image review in the EVF seems to be scaled at an odd percentage that makes the initial view of the photo seem blurry. Zoom in one step and it snaps to a more native resolution that shows it’s a sharp image. Just makes the shooting experience feel less premium, which I guess is fine for casual shooting. But then again, at odds with the storied Nikon brand?

Agreed, the ZF and the Z8 feel like very premium, rugged products. The ZFC, less so. Still a nice little camera though if you don't want all the latest tech.

As a hobbyist i want something small and portable. The ZFc feels bigger than the Fuji XT30 or XE4, or some Sony smallish APSC. Even Sony have the A7C line, relatively small but full frame. It seems like i have to go Fuji or Sony.

I really wanted my Zfc to act as a X100V alternative, but, apart from looks and excellent sensor, it does not fit the bill at all: bulkier with any lens, no integrated flash, no leaf shutter for fast x-sync, no integrated ND filter, lack of the "film simulations" mystique, very quirky implementation of analogue controls. And it is way below X100VI specs: as above + no IBIS, much less resolution, slower. So I now bought a X100VI and would sell my Zfc and its very good 24mm DX lens if resale prices were not so abysmally low. Way things are now, I'll probably keep it as emergency backup to my beloved Zf. At best, the Zfc is Nikon's alternative to an old X-T20, not to any of the X100 series.

@@brusselssprout1 I agree with most of what you’re saying. I do think the zfc is better than older generations of x100 series esp with the 28mm se bc the lens and sensor produce better results than the older x100 line.

You can get the black color way in the US. Nikon USA website sells it as the ‘black edition’. I had one for a short time and I agree with many of your opinions. I have a Z6III and wanted to scratch that smallish, retro camera itch as a casual, maybe EDC family camera. In the end I couldn’t justify keeping it. For me, if I wanted to carry a camera that size, I’d rather reach for the Z6III which is slightly larger (but no Z8). The full frame sensor IQ and overall handling and speed of the Z6III puts it in a class far above the Zfc. If Nikon could cram a full frame sensor into a Z30 body with EXPEED 7 and IBIS, I’d be all over it. Hopefully the Z5 II goes that direction.
For a minute I thought you bought the one I’d listed on EBay recently. 😂

That would have been amazing if I had bought yours. I get why you sold it. It does take nice photos but the build and speed are not up to par when theres so many good cameras around 1,000. Maybe if I could get it for 500 I'd buy it again.

Zfc doesn't worth at today, as Z50 II has been launched.
