I know 😂Just awful that children even toddlers are forced to endure such injustice though ,it was their land ,they purchased it ,yet where evicted from it . Really unjust evicting the, from their own land ,then complaining about them camping on parks etc .
They purchased the land and where evicted from it ,and I bet they where not compensated for everything taken from them . That is just plain wrong ,then folks complain when they end up forced to move onto commons ,car parks and parks .
that random side story about the eviction was like a whole other show, when they cut back to the bride i forgot it was supposed to be about cousin marriage lmao
Yes, that's correct, but it works both ways. There is no room for hate or vitriol in this world, there is more than enough of it already, and yes, respect is earned, one cannot command it, unless through fear, and intimidation, but of course, that's not the way to go, earning it is so much better.
You know....what I saw was them being jeered at FIRST with RACIST slurs against them being Gypsy, and then they half-heartedly hurled slurs back at that group of men jeering at them. Don't skew things to fit your own narrative. Context always matters.
After watching a few of these documentaries and from my personal experience, ive come to the conclusion that whilst travellers are treated unfairly at times they do seem to have a sense of entitlement which really doesn’t help their cause. They should be allowed to live in their caravans if they so choose but they seem to think that they also have the right to pitch up wherever they want and the ones that have done that in the area I grew up in always trashed the place and left. Furthermore, I have seen so many acting like the rules don’t apply to the them both in these shows and in real life but then they wonder why people don’t like them at times
Also that they were annoyed that a bunch of police showed to their faire. Yes, its a huge crowd of people. Police literally have to be at every bigger event and gathering, except when organizers have cared to hire security and staff themselfes (which clearly wasnt the case here)
Are Travellers treated harshly? In my opinion "YES but dont they deserve it?". I mean the state of them. Rubbish, fighting, animal cruelty, destruction of private property theft, lack of hygiene. Are they treated unfairly, in respect of their behaviour then no.
there's a reason they have the reputation and are "picked on" 🙄 they want to live without paying for land taxes, rent, income taxes but want free benefits
No, this is typical not an anomaly. What is it, like %80 are on welfare? But literally dont believe in tax or paying for land (thats the point of them).... In the US its worse. Literally OVER %90 are on welfare... %90 on welfare in a culture literally created to oppose paying tax. Insanity. Mow it down.@@babyfisherfan111

I do feel sorry for them but the law applies to every single person in the country. It's a shame the older ones aren't telling the little ones that instead of telling them it's only happening because they're hated.
I live where Lee Gap Horse Fair is held, a similar traveller fair that happens twice a year. This year the land has been sold for development so it'll be the last time they're allowed on. They've already said they'll not leave afterwards and they'll just set up camp there. We always have ongoing issues around the fair time where a lot of travellers break onto land and leave it covered in waste, we've had dogs dumped, horses tethered everywhere, they run the carts/traps up and down the roads at high speed, and last year there was a shooting at our local pub and we had the police helicopter out for ages dealing with it. I know not all travellers are like this but until they start holding themselves accountable for many of their issues and stop the "us VS them" mentality no one will ever learn to live side by side. Respect is a two way street.
Some are hard-working people, and then most of the travelers are gypsies are scammers. Why do people think they travel across the country? They scam them many, many ways.
Because they live that way out of choice. Plus it works the other way around, they can afford to spend excessively BECAUSE they live the way they do. Their living costs are NOTHING compared to the average household standard.
I live in a small Market Town in the North East and every year we get groups of travellers stopping on their way to appleby. I’d like to say there are no issues but last year there were instances of assault that landed a few people i know into hospital, muggings and SA on young women in the town. Although i don’t think all of the Gypsy culture is bad i definitely think they have a reputation for being rowdy and destructive for a reason

I am confused. It shouldn't matter how a woman dances or what clothes she wears, but it doesn't feel good. I feel uncomfortable seeing little girls dressed like that and dancing like that. Most would say that the women dress "sexy" and dance sexually too, and the little girls do the same. That feels wrong, even though it shouldn't matter.
Isn't the point to travel though? They want to build to make it permanent. Shame they couldn't get the right permits, very curious what happened with that and if it does come down to racism. With all building sites it requires the community permission as well. Like where I live i cant sell alcohol without asking the churches within a 20 mile block if they are okay with it.
They sound like "Israelis" as Israel doesn't exist. It is a colonized land with Genocide. Everyone originates from Africa in a central point. The fact these people practice profitable underage marriages and send women into slavery and dealing with childish "men" as "husbands" is disgusting. Hasidic jews practice life and marriage practices the same way despite child protection laws internationally plus the criminal ties and human trafficking issued they are involved with in EU and spreading to other countries. Time they leave criminality behind and join a more hi est lifestyle.
All the violence could be avoided if their community just bought their own plot of land. Like it would be so much easier to buy a neighbouring farm then set up their caravans there. Then legally they'd be fine
@Anthony planning permission and they'd have to use legally qualified professionals to build and get them onto the grid instead of bodging it themselves - they wouldn't spend their money on that not to mention they'd then have to pay council tax and show the tax man how they make their money to afford all that which means paying NI aswell as tax on their earnings which they would never do and then ontop of that, the work they illegally do would have to have the minimum business and liability insurance which they would never pay for nor could they get as they have zero qualifications, zero skill/training and I don't imagine site safety is at all relivant to them so wouldn't even pass the minimum site inspection for work to be carried out. THAT'S why they have so much money as they do nothing legally and are virtually untraceable as they have no permanent address, they aren't registered anywhere and fly under the radar.
If you can't tell they're Gypsies from their clothing, you can always tell when they start to dance. ALL the women do the exact same one dance move!! Hahaha
Thelma is very sweet advocating for travelers but it's not all racism people don't want trash all over their business or cops everywhere because of fights and violence. That's why they are forced from places. It's almost like travellers don't see the crap they bring to places.
Exactly. It’s not all racism. I’ve seen many comments & stories about hotel staff who have had to clean TRASHED rooms or restaurant staff who have had tables utterly ruined, trash & food smeared everywhere. It seems like that’s sort of a trend wherever they go. Not all of them but enough to make people uneasy at certain professional establishments.

Sadly the dale farm situation was avoidable. The site had a certain amount of permanent plots approved. In the end they had something like a thousand people living their on illegal plots. The neighbours house had complained also due to the back of his home becoming a dumping ground and he was unable to sell. He received death threats. They were asked to downsize back to the original plots. It went through to the court of appeals. It was quite a mess. I lived on and off in Ireland for many years, never heard of them called Gypsys, was always Tinkers. I just remember the mess they left when they leaved.
Gypsies are usually referred to as "Roma". Irish travellers or tinkers are genetically different as they are the original Irish from the ice age. While they share many cultural traits (i.e. horse husbandry, trial by combat, nomad lifestyle, metal work and criminality) they are genetically different and they marry their own kin. This is why the the marriage in Peaky Blinders makes no sense as there would have been no Roma in Ireland until the 1990s

And mothers, not well educated in much but how to marry young, either look at the girls with pity as they will be missing out on so much in their lives OR are teaching the girls how to catch husband, let them get away with the one thing the entire community has agreed upon. My friend wrote a book about them, the crazy demarcations in home life it reminded me of the Amish, Muslims or FLDS except those girls have to be kept dressed head to toe. She told me of one family who decided that their girls should cover up and finish high school and it was so strange to the community, they thought the girl was damaged somehow.
Your chastity and character doesn’t come from what you wear. They can wear whatever they want and still be pure, good girls. Stop assuming all women who dress that way are out to get laid…idiot.

It seems like most travelers have quite a bit of money. So why doesn't one of them find a way to buy some land & rent to travelers? Run it like a KOA. Have hook-ups, toilets, showers & laundry facilities. Maybe even a small general store with staples. Charge a fair price. When you make enough profit buy another property & so on. @Seneca Buvoltz yeah you need to learn more about travellers - its easy to be clean when you literally throw your rubbish outside your front door and use other people's doorsteps, gardens, alleyways, lifts etc as a your personal toilet as they don't use the toilets in their caravan. The girls don't have an education and leave school at a very young age so they can clean their caravans all day, look after their younger siblings and cook every single day and then they get married at 16 and become the property of their husbands. They are never allowed to go out without their husbands permission, its expected they stay home and cook, clean and breed for the rest of their lives. Oh yes, and the wonderful life of a traveller also involves the highest rate of sexual abuse and domestic violence amongst all different types of cultures. Suicide amongst males is high, morbidity is extremely low. How do you think these uneducated, unskilled people make all that money to afford those big weddings - they steal, they con the most vulnerable out of their life savings, they intimidate, they don't pay taxes, they don't have insurance for any of the work they do, the work they do fails to meet the lowest of safety standards as its all subpar. They steal everything they can, the women take their children shopping with them and use them as decoys to steal or they try and keep the shop assistant busy whilst the kids steal. I was in a restaurant when a load of gypsys turned up - the kids ran riot, one of the girls slapped a 3 yr old girl really hard who was sat eating with her family, the gypsys did nothing even when the family said something to them. They laughed and carried on eating. The restaurant asked them to leave, they refused and threatened to smash the place up if they didn't get more food, the restaurant didn't want trouble and tried to appease them, in the end, they had told them they were calling police unless they left so the gypsys left and off course never paid a penny for the meal they had (apprx 30 of them). That was their plan the entire time. Why do you think business don't want them there, why hotels and venues turn them away. They are violent, they damage and destroy property costing owners thousands of pounds. They swear on their dead relatives lives all the time even when they are lying. Yes, that's correct, but it works both ways. There is no room for hate or vitriol in this world, there is more than enough of it already, and yes, respect is earned, one cannot command it, unless through fear, and intimidation, but of course, that's not the way to go, earning it is so much better.

I've had many encounters and across several states and every one of them swindled and robbed every chance they got
there's a reason they have the reputation and are "picked on" 🙄 they want to live without paying for land taxes, rent, income taxes but want free benefits
No, this is typical not an anomaly. What is it, like %80 are on welfare? But literally dont believe in tax or paying for land (thats the point of them).... In the US its worse.
Yeah thats what they should do, be hard on their own who act horribly

Some are hard-working people, and then most of the travelers are gypsies are scammers. Why do people think they travel across the country? They scam them many, many ways.
Because they live that way out of choice. Plus it works the other way around, they can afford to spend excessively BECAUSE they live the way they do. Their living costs are NOTHING compared to the average household standard.
Not paying tax helps ?
I live in a small Market Town in the North East and every year we get groups of travellers stopping on their way to appleby.
I don't remember religion ever condoning stealing, beating up people, intimidation etc etc they don't follow religion at all, they make up their own!!
These are just a few articles but there are plenty online and not too mention that this is the norm for them but they don't all go in the papers.

@@senbuvoltz1215 please please please come to Ireland!! I will put you up for a week. You can see why a town has to go into a two day lockdown when there is a funeral. When a certain individual with an Olympic medal turns up there is violence in the town that night. You can even wander through a halting site, see if you get out alive. Start reading the regional circuit court notices in the provincial papers to get an idea.
The suggestive dance moves, the revealing clothes - yet, they dance with such innocence.
Too! suggestive for these young girls even toddlers!!!
My uncle married his first cousin ( also my mom's 1st cousin) after my aunt passed away 2 years ago in Florida. Apparently it is legal there. Our entire family was absolutely appalled and disgusted. Him and my aunt who passed were my godparents. He never met his new wife/cousin until a family reunion a few months after my aunt passed. They were married 30 years. We think he had a mental breakdown in his grief. My aunt and uncle were true soul mates. I have never seen a couple more in love. Now noone has spoken with him and he still has yet to bring my aunts ashes up to PA, where we all are, to be buried in the cemetery plot that they purchased for him and my aunt before she passed away from complications from Lupus. Thankfully, him and his new wife are both over the childbearing age.
At what age do men become beyond childbearing years??
@@juliemclain5841 it's getting lower and lower with all the vaccines, sugar, herbicide, pesticides, radiation and medications. It's a wonder we are still alive.
@@juliemclain5841 Sperm quality declines after 35
@@juliemclain5841 She has already been through menopause and has her own children, plus a few grandchildren. She is in her late 50s. My uncle was never able to have children because my aunts disease made her infertile from the medication. He is a few years younger than her. However, since it takes 2 people to have a baby, being male and producing sperm is insignificant when considering the likelihood of them producing children.
The problem with marrying a cousin is when the couple is young enough to have kids, because of the chances of the children being born with disabilities and other problems related to sharing genes.
Wow I can't imagine letting little girls dress like they were for the night before wedding party. Too many sickos in the world to be letting the little ones dress so scantily!
It just looks so dirty.. who gets rid of their trash. Yes they clean but what about the outside, its dirty
These people are very clean and very proud . They often do not have a choice of encampment . They are a closed private culture . Just the fact that we can view this is big !!
@Catherine English they clean their caravans but shit outside of other people's home!! They have no toilets in their caravans and they have no wheelie bins - they dump on every tax paying, decent human being by leaving behind their filth - your council tax money goes on the big clean up after they are rightfully evicted. They don't care, they don't clean it up and they don't pay for it either - you and me do!!
They have to be closed and private as they are criminals - no taxes, no insurance, no actual skills in the work they do so not only do they not have insurance, its dangerous.
Sexual abuse is the highest amongst the traveller community aswell as domestic violence so of course they need to keep private!!!
No they are filthy. They leave their filth after them for private contractors or the council.
From local experience the absolute filth that's left behind. If local area is leaned up before they move on . Locals would be more tolerate
You're not allowed to marry your 1st cousin in the Catholic Church
If they are travelers, why don’t they wanna travel.
They do travel, when the bailiff or tax inspector comes around they are gone like a shot!!!!!
@@anthonyhassett says they have been there for 10years. That’s not really traveling. Lol
@@katherinebarrett6728 Travellers are usually nomads, social welfare and free housing has made them soft as putty and they lost all their metal work skills.

Why were Thelma, and her assistant thrown out of church? Idgi?
and she just said they are the nicest travellers loool
So did anybody else notice that the water didn't even touch the little girl
Course not! They wouldn’t want to ruin their hair.
@@mrsl8596 Also no seat belt on as she was being driven to the church Seat belt marks might crease the dress.
They are hydrophobic and have allergies to soap too.
Never remember travellers dressing like this when I lived in Ireland
23:13 what the hell is going on here with these little girls acting like drunk college students 🤦🏻♀️
The way they served the wedding cake omg
You wouldn't see that behaviour from pigs at feeding time!!!
That was my favorite part are you kidding !😂
What in the world?! So outrageous
I wonder who's the one(s) to clean up after the reception 🤔
You are assuming there is anything left and not everything has been stolen.
I am heartbroken seeing these people having to walk away from there homes it's not right at all they own the land they shouldn't be law be allowed to be evicted off land they own. Well done to all of those who held there heads high and walked of peacefully.
So very wrong to throw the 2 ladies out the church 😮
This is all so AWKWARD in every possible way.
I love how that mother licked her finger to shape Rachel's curl! I'm not a gypsy but curly hair runs in my family and we've all did the finger luck trick a million times!😂
Rathkeale has to be seen to be believed. It's one of the very few places in Ireland you won't see some house prices publicised before sale. It'll all be done behind closed doors. Usually the house prce is there for everyone to see - Rathkeale it will be "POA - Price on Application". And even if they do give you an idea of it, it won't be what it sells for.
Mcdonalds is definitely a life necessity. 🤣🤣🤣
McDonalds serves food to 1%of the world's population every day. Do you think it is the the richer or poorer 1%
@Anthony calling McDonald's a life necessity is the same as calling cigarettes a necessity. There are ways to feed the 1% without resorting to food that will essentially kill them off. Especially in this type of situation where the demonstrators do not have access to food. Non perishables such as rice and canned vegetables work just as well as McDonald's with the added benefit of being cheap and healthier.
@@kathyharris1627 oh I fully agree. I think it is disgusting morally to be dependent on a single provider of food. Travellers never evolved from hunter gather to settled agriculture and are our closest link to neanderthal man. Plus the whole breeding with the cousins thing didn't help. Also travellers can't cook.
I’ll never understand why people don’t dress for the weather. I mean they’re in subzero weather and those dresses why don’t they have some kind of jacket? Even the babies are out there just freezing.
Where do they get the money to pay for all this stuff?
What a beautiful and stunning bride this young lady makes ❤
The more of these I see, the more irritated I am at the number of men who have their faces blurred: it’s about not being identified so they can con people.
I literally have a play list of these episodes that I listen to to fall asleep too lol 💜💋🖤
That’s weird
I don’t think it’s weird! I have some of these on my sleep list too. 😂 I’ll fall asleep to Trailer Park Boys and RuPauls Drag Race, as well.
I listen to judge Judy scream at people when I go to sleep
Nice tings make you sleep
Dude it's your cousin!!! Nooooo just noooooooooo
If you use the tradesman's entrance then it's fine
I just want to say I love and respect these people . I'm told i I have Irish traveller in my blood . I believe it .
"we wont go" you're travelers. Isn't "going" what you do, by definition of your name.
I love their horses. They are beautiful.
You know those horses never see a farrier or vet and are raced on roads.... Unshod? What do you think happens?
They abuse their animals disgustingly.
Seen better
Yorks my home town. I’ve worked for travellers. 98% of the time they’re the salt of the earth. But the younger generation of them can be little shits. I remember this event when it happened while I worked in a traveler’s pub and they were horrified. I think in modern days the men just can’t go anywhere without starting fights under drink x
they're exactly why i don't feel safe going into the town
Where do they get all the money for these weddings???
Robbin' and not paying tax
They also have a lot of generational wealth. Same as non traveler families they pass the money down generations, and because of dowry’s it’s only really spread thru travelers and stays in their community.
@@julietnony9267 Generational wealth? They never had any money until the 90s. Everyone knows that saving money is for saps. Institutions pay 0%interest and the ECB lends at about 3% as of the other day.
@@anthonyhassett I simply mean these people have been around for 500+ years all the while keeping to themselves. Sure they sold things and traded but I don’t think they were ever giving away large amounts of money unless they needed to. All their money has been circled thru their community for generations
@@julietnony9267 how would they generate this wealth as they have no visible property and no special skill set.

Can't this cause issues for any children they have? This is odd. Also why the hell didn't they put a coat on the baby!!!
Yep the tinkers section in the grave yard is full of babies that died prematurely.
Too bad! It's NOT their property! 🙄
They'll have "odd" children that will do nothing but breed more "odd" children.
