The fuel plate control maximum rack travel in the pump. So, once you make full boost and the AFC arm is out of the way, that plate is what keeps the pump from fueling any further. Slid all the way forward like you installed it will allow more rack travel (more fueling). The preboost (smoke) screw controls fueling from 0-5 psi of boost and the star wheel inside the AFC housing control fueling from 5-full boost, which is probably around 15psi on a stock AFC. They ground off the AFC foot to allow more fueling from 0-full boost. You can also slide the AFC housing forward/backwards on the pump to tune the rate of fueling from 0-full boost. You can tinker with that to get better throttle response, but it can get smokey quick. Sliding it towards the radiator will allow more fuel and towards the cab will allow less fuel. Be careful with these mods on a stock transmission! You're making enough power to smoke that converter.
I have a 5 speed manual with a 215 pump if I slid the fuel plate and the afc forward would my transmission and clutch hold up and how much hp would that gain ?
@@chaseholmvik5666your clutch is gonna be your weak point, assuming your clutch will handle it your Trans is fafe to around 400. Guys will tell you oh my buddy's is stock and it holds 700. Don't listen to them 400-500 TOPS
Hey dude take off the cap on the top of the afc and turn that star wheel towards the engine about 10 clicks (thats what i did to mine) and that will add more fuel and hp and torque. Awesome vid man keep up the great work!
LOUD 'N' PROUD Some of the AFC mods are shaving the afc arm down an 1/8 on an inch on the shaft, upgraded springs, and the Mack rack plug. With tuning you should have minimal smoke with tuning the AFC, rolling coal is just washing the cylinder walls with diesel adding wear.
Paul Madsen “rolling coal” doesn’t wash cylinder walls. I’ve only seen that happen when an injector gets stuck spraying wide open while the truck is off.

My 12 valve looks to be more powerful then that. Which scares me lol. I didn’t think much was done to it. I put a 35 psi max boost gauge on and it bottoms out the gauge easily. What psi is everyone else running with there 12 valves. On and mines the standard transmission p pump.
Remember...highly pressurized hot air does shit all for your engine. You need pressurized COOL air. Your stock truck turbo (HX35) goes out of its map at around 35PSI.
Got my 12v from a guy in cali dont know whats done to it if anything at all but as far as i know its stock maybe p pump turned up but it maxes out my 30psi boost gauge

Unshaved stock plate to 0 fuel plate makes it a totally new truck and does add approximately 100-130 hp
