    One of the mistakes I made in my first year, not developing a good study habit early. Congrats on finishing 1st year👌🏾👌🏾

    I'm just going into seventh grade and I really want to be a surgeon. Your studying tips really helped so I keep all of the middle school anatomy papers and I use some techniques from that video. You also inspired me to be a doctor and now I watch you 24/7. Just wanted to say that thanks for inspiring me 😘

    One year done 🎉🎉🎉
    Can i request ummm what's in my bag or med school essentials? I think it would be great for first year students because it can be overwhelming on what to buy and what to bring

    • @WhiteCoatChronicles
      @WhiteCoatChronicles  7 лет назад +7

      미인 yes! I can add that for a future video. But I will say, for the essentials for first year: laptop, notebook, and planner haha. All textbooks could be accessed online at my school, so it wasn't necessary to buy. And all notes were taken on my laptop. Occasionally I wrote notes in a notebook.

    Im a freshman in high school and I had been thinking a lot about my career path lately. I also just recently had knee surgery and it had me thinking about how people go through medical school which is how i found your channel and I have a second cousin that went through medical school and I'm honestly considering it. I know i most likely won't be able to handle it and my grades aren't the best. I think I'm just going to stick to being a physical therapist but anyways this channel is very inspiring!

    • @WhiteCoatChronicles
      @WhiteCoatChronicles  7 лет назад +2

      Sammy Naldo you can major in any course. But just need the required prerequisites. General bio and chem. Organic chem. Physics. Biochem. I was a biology major and I felt I was well prepared.

    I would really recommend medical survival guide by Lecturio. It really helped me to go through my first year and learn how to study efficiently and get ready for step 1. They also have 90 day and 30 day schedules prepared for you, when you get closer to the test day. Actually second year medical student recommended it to me and I just loved it, as in addition to perfection of the platform, I economized hundreds of dollars. They also have Qbank very similar to Uworld which I use for mu med school exam prep. Highly recommend it.

    Hi! I just started Med School in Puerto Rico and have my second biochem test on Monday. Your tips are very helpful! As well as your vlog. But I seem to be struggling with adapting my study habits and it worries me because my first shelf is in two weeks. I've tried scheduling, but I can't seem to stick to it (with respect to time and writing/planning it out). Also, I find myself spending too much time on one chapter or the other, and that puts me behind in other material. I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed, you could say lol. Just wondering if maybe you had any other specific tips.
    Thanks in advance and hope you had a great summer!!

    • @WhiteCoatChronicles
      @WhiteCoatChronicles  7 лет назад +2

      Hi! As far as not sticking to your schedules, do you think you're scheduling too much for one day? Maybe try breaking down your list into smaller tasks. Spending too much time on one chapter, that's a tough one. I typically don't read full chapters from textbooks. I just go to the sections I need for that particular lecture to get clarification. Maybe try skimming instead of reading the full chapters? I do like to read textbooks, but I don't find myself being very productive when I read full chapters at a time. Maybe you can try splitting up sections, so the reading won't be so overwhelming.
      I also have a video on study tips, you can check it out in my playlist :)

      ok thankyou, do you feel like that prepared you well for med school? i only ask because i was thinking of doing health sciences as my undergrad but i wasn't sure if thats a good choice!

      @WhiteCoatChronicles  7 лет назад +7

      purhpelveggie yes I felt well prepared. Im not sure what courses are included in health sciences. But I have many classmates that were not science majors. Sociology, psychology, engineering, etc.

    Hello! First, thank you for all this information and this channel i think you are doing a great job! You are just wonderfull! I am going to 10 and i have two years to uni so i think its enought time to prepare myself. I dont know someone who is going to medical school, but online i am reading so many stuff from the sort:" you should forget about your social life" That scares me just tinny bit but i really dont think that this so bad at all. I can see how you can handle with this and that makes me less nervous. However i forgot about myself and wrote so many things if you read this thank you again and i am sorry if i wrote something wrong with my language level, i am not native speaker but i am trying harder to learn more. And one question: When you've started to study for going to uni i mean 10 or 11 or 12? 🙄

    • @WhiteCoatChronicles

    What's a good undergrad minor? I feel like even though your undergrad majors are very important to prepare you for medical school I feel like I shouldn't just waste my undergrad minors on random stuff

    i recently statrted watching yr videos and im in year 10 , i really wanna be in med school because i find it interesting but i dont really feel motivated as my marks are average??? so like im kinda in between go for science or arts

    • @WhiteCoatChronicles
      @WhiteCoatChronicles  7 лет назад

      Thenbhdarcticmonkeysyears&years don't let your average scores close the door on attempting to go to med school. Explore your options with both science and art, and if you feel you're more passionate about art then go for it! :).

    Hey precious, my name is precious lol do u reccomend going to an affordable school if your planning to go to medical school? Basically saying does the money rlly matter?

    • @WhiteCoatChronicles
      @WhiteCoatChronicles  7 лет назад

      MyPreciousss lol hey Precious. Of course if you have the option to an affordable school, then you should do that. Student loans and debt is real lol. It's one of many factors to consider when deciding on a school.

    • @preciousy22
      @preciousy22 7 лет назад

      Yes I understand that but there's a school I really like and if I go there I would have to take out loans. Should I reconsider?

    • @WhiteCoatChronicles
      @WhiteCoatChronicles  7 лет назад +1

      MyPreciousss it's honestly a personal decision. I can't say. In my situation, I would have to take out student loans for any school I attend.
      So if I had the option to go to a school where I had zero loans, that would be hard to turn down.
