ON a side note, the next time I need to get a new phone, either I get last year's flagship or a mid-range budget phone --- those can still do 90-95% of what $1000+ flagships can do, and then some better (eg. Plastic build, headphone jack, fast wired charging, longer battery life)

I'm personally waiting for the pixel 4a because I want to use my phone for as long as possible. My current phone is a OnePlus 3 and my phone before that was an iPhone 4. Because the 3a has been out for a year already, it's only going to get 2 more years of updates while the 4a should get 3 years so I think that makes the price difference worth it.

My 2XL camera died a couple months ago and I got sick of waiting for the 4a. Also not a fan of the hole punch display. Subbed! I'm most interested in the transcription feature, but it looks like it may be available for all Androids soon. I'm not very interested in the cameras since I often have an actual camera, but the comparisons for the Pixel 4 are very impressive. One cheap phone I've noticed recently, was the Huawei Y9 Prime - in black it seemed quite sharp, and it has a retractable front camera so it feels more private to browse with. I left iPhone after the 4S because they became so ugly, but the SE in black has no type at all, just the centred logo - which makes that design philosophy look pretty good.
Yeah the transcription feature is really cool. If your not much of a camera guy, I'd maybe recommend you look at OnePlus phones. They don't do that well on the camera department, but they do amazing at delivering a buttery smooth android experience. I think outside stock android on Google Pixels, Oneplus's version of android is really good.

This is your first video I've seen. Great video and editing, but you should get a better mic (if you haven't already) - it was a bit distracting. Otherwise, great work, I'll subscribe to see what else you've got
Realistically, nobody that’s considering buying an Android device should consider the Pixel 3a or 3 XL. If you’re buying budget phones you want to save money - so buy a used Pixel 3 XL on Swappa for $200-240 instead of a 3a. Oh and I just dropped my “premium” glass 11 Pro Max yesterday from like a foot high (I was in my car seat and it fell to the ground) and the screen completely shattered, $363 down the drain for a repair now. If you’re an Android user seriously consider the 3 XL. If I didn’t absolutely need an iPhone for work I’d still be using the 3 XL. I think it’s the absolute best deal in smartphones. $200-250 for a phone with a camera that still goes toe to toe and beats out my $1200 iPhone with incredible video. It’s not at that iPhone level but it’s fantastic. I really have a soft spot for the Pixel line and will always love it the most. If you absolutely NEED a new phone and for some reason won’t buy a used phone, the 3a will be pretty great. I’m really excited for the 4a. I love your videos man I always watch the entire video, sometimes I get to see it in one sitting but sometimes I slowly chip away at it through the day if I’m busier. Hope you’re doing good.
I was really considering the purchase of a pixel phone, but Google still has disabled the use of Miracast on all their phones. Chromecast requires additional hardware and internet connection to be useable.
Thank you, for including the point: "Coming from a faster phone, you could probably notice the time it takes for processing/opening". No reviewer i've seen till date (i've seen a lot) mentions this comparison. Thank you. This addresses my concern regarding buying pixel 3a XL, coming from Pixel OG. Pixel OG had faster storage (UFS 2.1) vs pixel 3a XL so i'll probably be finding 3a slower relatively, but, i've decided it's a lesser compromise (painful nevertheless) vs not having Gogle's image post processing. I'll probably trade 3a in for 4a when that releases. Anyway, Thank you.
I downloaded it from this app called Walli on Google Play Store. The name of the wallpaper on the app is called "Arcadea", and its by someone named Elef Therios. :)
4a hands down. I wouldn't recommend the 3a to anyone since the 4a is literally right around the corner. 100 dollars for faster internals, bigger display, 3 years of guaranteed updates as opposed to 2... Yeah...it's a no brainer.
Totally agree! 4A is set to be amazing. I plan to pick one up myself for review. This video serves as the confidence I want to give people who are on the tightest budgets where they can't make up the difference of that $100. It's just me empathizing with the harder financial situations ✌️
I am enjoying it as a secondary device to my iPhone X. I like how light the body is and battery life is pretty good so far. I also like the contrast to iOS and was just looking for a budget google phone but also that which gets android software updates.
By 4:39, I knew this was the review we all should have watched long ago. For 99.99 % of us, it doesn't matter if a phone opens half a second slower than another. The way reviewiers pinpoint it as though it's some major shortcoming is fucking baffling. I've had the 3a for over a year now and it is SO smooth to this day. RAM management is pretty good too. It can handle games like PubG very well. I'm convinced that expensive processors in phones are overrated.
I mostly agree with you. I bought my 3a a few days ago as a backup phone (my main phone being the Note 9) and guess what, there hasn't been any point where I felt I was waiting for a long time on something to load. In fact the 3a is so good I'd say I could use it as a daily driver. The only way I noticed is when I put them next to each other while opening apps or while playing intensive games, which I don't typically do on my phones anyways. Powerful SoCs do have their place for content creators and avid gamers, but most people don't care and just want Facebook and WhatsApp. Some reviewers also complained about the 3a being plastic; meanwhile I was carrying around my Note 9 in a case, constantly fearing that the glass sandwich can crack when you're not babying it. While the 3a doesn't make me careless, I feel much more confident about carrying this without a case since plastic phones are more durable.
Even with 3A and 3A XL the software updates will allow about 3 more years, plus ppl with tight budget (like me) may very well stick with their phone for a few more years until something goes wrong. It's also more affordable now since its release 1 year ago. 4A and 4A XL are probably going to be more expensive in comparison. Maybe I'm just not picky.
No problem getting this phone now. It will still get upgrades in 2 more years. Though the phone is plastic, at least it won't break like glass. Sure there's no wireless charging, but there is fast wired charging. And....the phone has an headphone jack, meaning more audio options.
I talked about battery life at 5:00 ! Haha but yeah its really good. I've had no issues, and I dropped a link to a battery case I use that extends the battery life even more! :)
I've a little concern about Facebook experience, such as while accessing a bunch of random photos or switching between interfaces , is there any lag or delay ?
Good question! I would say for the most part, you shouldn't experience too many issues with stuff like that. I would say the phone itself may lag if your running apps or doing specific tasks that are very memory intensive as it only as 4GB of ram. Facebook/instagram/social media apps don't really fall in these categories. I've had minor lag sometimes, but not enough where it's frustrating or taking away the experience. If you truly want a hassle free, no lag experience, you may want to try your hand with the Pixel 4A as it's faster internals and 6GB of ram should curb any minor lags you get on the 3A on the same apps. I only recommended the 3A for 2020 as I want to give people the confidence who are on a really tight budget the pixel 3A is good enough, and just can't get an extra $50 or $100 (whatever the difference in price will be) for the 4A or even an iPhone SE. The pixel 3a for the most part is right on the money for how most people use their smartphone, and going beyond it is only if you truly desire more performance or design asthetics to your phone. Hope that helps!! ✌️
@@TerrenRule Thank a lot because of your detailed reply. I used to use htc 10 , S7 edge , s9+ and my daily light usage just go with Facebook , Instagram , take photos , GMS. You know that to compare with iOS , Facebook on these phones are not smooth as. I supposed that they might have outdated internals and they're not run on stock android. So i decided to get a Pixel for my daily driver but i just want it run as smooth as possible only with my needs like that , neglect anything else.
I may be a little biased but I prefer the 3A over the 4A because of its design. Also with the iPhone SE I'll give it credit also It has those nice bezels on it It gives it a nice whole flush look that totally blows hole punch and teardrops out of the water. In my opinion unless you're going with an under camera or pop-up camera it just looks kind of fugly

I got a Pixel 3a this time last year - and grew to hate it. If you like missing notifications and updates that make your alarms vanish, then fine. If you are OK with Google Pay making your phone seize, then you'll like it. The camera is OK - but so what? I wasn't OK with the problems. I lasted 53 weeks with that POS. Hates it so much I broke it. Had a-fuggn-nuff.

exactly! :)
@@TerrenRule Though the downfall is 64GB internal storage, the work arounds are cloud storage and USB OTG.
@@lilPopper What I liked about the 3a was that it came with an USB OTC adapter - at least in Germany.
@@lw7108 yeah, in Canada it comes too with a USB OTG adapter too
@@lilPopper Oops. OTG it is, thanks. (USB On-the-go)
I'm buying 3a ❤️ in love with this. But hows battery life ??????
I talked about battery life at 5:00 ! Haha but yeah its really good. I've had no issues, and I dropped a link to a battery case I use that extends the battery life even more! :)
@@TerrenRule I hope it won't slow down with time as it is not a flagship one.
Madan Sharma maybe consider the discounted pixel4! ($499 and $599)
I've a little concern about Facebook experience, such as while accessing a bunch of random photos or switching between interfaces , is there any lag or delay ?
Is Facebook problem, it does than on many phones
I may be a little biased but I prefer the 3A over the 4A because of its design. Also with the iPhone SE I'll give it credit also It has those nice bezels on it It gives it a nice whole flush look that totally blows hole punch and teardrops out of the water. In my opinion unless you're going with an under camera or pop-up camera it just looks kind of fugly
How is the battery life bro
I talked about battery life im the review haha! It's really good. You should have no issues getting through the entire day. I also included a link to a battery case I use that provides me incredible battery results
@@TerrenRule thanks...
July 2021 had many updates and the pixel 3a is still boss
Can i buy one in 2022??
i currently have a xiaomi mi9 lite and after tinkering with various versions of gcam i get pretty good looking shots.but i saw someone using a pixel phone and i thought the image quality was outstanding.
I am getting pixel 3 with the same price of 3a, which one should i go for..? does pixel 3 has battery problems?
Love my 3A !!!
How many photos does it save and can you put in a S.D card in it?
Bro im selling off my iphone se to buy the pixel 4a. Whats your opinion on this? Great vid by the way. Great production value
Excellent
iPhone se same price and it's got wireless charging and water resistant and a high end chip
Now now now pixel 4A 64g for 299 and 128g for 349, this will be an amazing deal if it becomes true
❤😘🇮🇳 from India mate
Haha thank you man!! ✌️🇨🇦

Thanks for watching!! :)
Decent battery on the SE/2020?
No
As a snapchat user, could u please tell me if the quality of the pictures on snapchat come out the same as the camera itself?
The camera is way better, I never take pictures on Snapchat, I just load them
Pixel 4a release date?
There estimating early may!
June
August :/
Yeah rumors are August now which is lame af and made me get a 3a as I needed something cheap ASAP (2XL camera died).
Iphone se 2020 is the best phone for long term.
I need a blue color pixel 4a 😍
I feel this guy is team apple. Near the end of the video recommend the iphone SE. I am over the poor battery in apple products, limited storage, and the boring recycled design

Haha yesss
@@TerrenRule I have the Pixel 4 XL I just recently got it
How do you like it so far?! The 90Hz screen must be so nice and fun to use
@@TerrenRule I like it alot Battery life is good and I love the 90 HZ Display
pixel 3a or iPhone 8?
OR, you could checkout amazon renewed phones and do away with any processing lag with the photos by buying a renewed pixel 3..
Should I get the Pixel 3a or should I wait for the 4a?
Should I buy it in 2020 or just wait for one plus z

Thanks for watching ☺️
So why not buy the Pixel 3 since its cheap now
Quick question, I have a Pixel 2 (835 4Gb RAM), will I notice a difference in performance with the Pixel 3a (670 4Gb RAM)
You shouldn't notice any big differences! I don't notice too much of a difference between my Pixel 3 vs my Pixel 3A
Wireless charger works with anything but metal, so the plastic back is not an issue at all
Not sure what your referencing!! Google Pixel 3A does not support any wireless charging
@@TerrenRule What I mean is that the back of the phone doesn't necessarily need to be glass in order to support wireless charging.
Nice review. Would be a better option to buy a used previous gen flagship for more money, just way better specs and less compromise (e.g. S10e, iPhone 8+, OnePlus 6t)
You make good points! Previous flagships do provide nice value too if you can save the extra $! ✌️
ur such an important person and ur time is so limited that you can t wait 2-3 seconds for a fucking picture . people are becoming lazier and dumber so quick...
Nice review, ...in a World which Cameras ''happen'' to have a phone and a mini-pc attached-!!!; ~ IMHO.
However, I'm the type of person who is not really into Super-Hyper-Sci-Fi Cameras, rather, my thing is, "Music":
speakers,
3.5mm headphone jack,
sound-reproduction;
...none of which was even mentioned, yet => [if I'm not mistaken]
If music quality is your bag, the lg g7 up have quad dac's and a headphone jack. Its easily the best audio on a smart phone. I'm getting a pixel 3a for the camera and lack of bloatware myself. Good luck with your decision.
Polycarbonate plastic is 10x more sturdy ~ why-(?) would anyone ‘not’ want a near unbreakable phone (🤪);
I specifically pick my present phone ‘because’ it had that {“poo-poo”} ‘cheap’ case; smh. 🤦🏻
Pixel 3a 2020
#Pixel3a2020
Confused even more.
3a and 4a is totally differnet phone
You need to fix your audio
Next time whenever you review a phone, plz talk about one of the most imp. thing, that is Radiation / SAR value.
#Pixel4Afor2020
Haha thanks for finishing! 😁
Where can I get this wallpaper?
I downloaded it from this app called Walli on Google Play Store. The name of the wallpaper on the app is called "Arcadea", and its by someone named Elef Therios. :)
@@TerrenRule Thank You ♥️
if the screen was symmetrical and the body was made out of aluminum I would've bought it
Yeah! I mean at the end of the day the aluminum would be covered with a case anyway? Unless you run your phone's caseless I get where your coming from
outdated.... Pixel 4a all the way
sound overload!!!!!
In my opinion, the pixel 3a XL has the best screen to battery ratio.
Fyi, i have Pixel 3a xl, first drop the glass cracked, so its not the best, plus 64gb is not enough, but it's nice phone not bad
Use a case don't be so careless
