- This is the woman who makes me toast every morning (and showers me with extra food). We cannot communicate at all since I speak only English and she only Thai. This woman is so adorable (I see her every morning but do not know her name). Interesting points of the video to note: (1) when she does an inspection (2) the embrace, which only later did my friend explain to me that it is not really in the Thai culture to hug (but it did explain the awkward half reciprocation and her face planting itself in the nape of my neck...)

She reminds me so much of my Grandmother (Nanay), her kindness, gestures & sweet smile are so similar, I Miss my Grandmother so much. She was the heart of our Family. My grandmother had a suki store in Manila, selling Filipino sweet desserts & foods. When she came to the states, she & Grandpa helped raise all of us grandkids & we got to enjoy her special treats. Thank you so much for sharing this video

That must be the most dry, flavourless meal ever created. I can't believe someone is buying and selling toast.
At 0.14 The Thai trade -woman says with pround , " You Know ? Today I have some dessert (that I have bought ) to give you , very delicious dessert " She picks it up to show. The lady says " Not o.k., just my toast ."
The trade-woman doesn't understand what she says , she knows only the word toast .Then she bakes bread .
At 1.15 The trade-woman gives the lady the bag of dessert ( red-or black bean boiled in sweet coconut cream )and confirm its taste , " Very-very delicious. - I guarantee . " The lady takes one of it . But the trade-woman forces her to get all of it . "Get all - for your friend -the young cameragirl - too. "
Even without words, both of these ladies conveyed strong sweet messages. Who needs translation, when their smiles said it all!

I'm so sad to tell you all aunt Lek just passed away on January 2020.
about 15 years ago I live in Soi Aree and buy her toast every morinig.
I buy 2 and aunt Lek always get 1 free for me. She so kind, lovely and always smile.

OMG. Me and my family always go to to Thai restaurant twice a month where we have our dinner. They serve tremendous good healthy noodles thats why we love it. But most of all, they gave us side dishes which is free and their politeness. No wonder every member of my familys birthday always in the thai restaurant.

I think Thai people are great. I went to Malaysia and Thailand last year and could see the difference between the two peoples. In Malaysia, I found the people to be inhospitable, rude and you get cheated nearly everywhere you go. In Thailand, totally the opposite - the people are kind and welcome you wherever you go.
