I love Kulu but he must trust his right foot more. It’s very predictable plus when he does use his right foot it’s decent! I’m very surprised that Ange doesn’t force him to go on outside more! It’s not overstated at all actually.

Great video as always. I personally think the ideal situation and position for Kulu would be to have him on the right but with a player in the right-sided 8 position being a player like Lo Celso but right-footed, so more technical than Sarr with a better delivery. This way in Ange's fluid system, Kulu and this 8 can rotate, giving Kulu chances during the game to roam inside and the 8 will go and hug the touchline. What do you make of this? And is there a player in our squad who suits that role and if not who is on the market who could fill that role? Perhaps could be one for Alfie Devine long term...

I agree a Kulu and Madders double would frighten most teams. My question though is, when everyone is fit who else plays in that midfield? For me me Bentancur has to be in the team

      Different horses for different courses.
Against a low block of the current squad id go Benta/Hoj.

Prefer him out on the wing for now due to his ball retention allowing to dominate the right side, but definitely is a good back up number 10 for Maddison.

I've been saying this for some time. His lack of pace and one footedness makes him not ideal as a winger, even though he still performs well there because of how good a player he is. I have thought about him as a 10, but your idea of him and maddison as double 8s sound very interesting. I think they should at least try it against lesser opposition.

I’m not personally concerned about having Maddison and Kulu play together in midfield. While attacking minded, they’ve both shown willingness to defend, press, and win possession. I think Hojbjerg/Biss/Bent could all play as the 6 and shore things up behind them. Maybe I’m an optimist

As swedish journalist Simon Bank said to Kulu in their latest interview as Dejan won Swedish POTY: He needs a free and creative role within strict limits.
Which Dejan also completely agreed with.

I personally think like you. His profile can be good at number 8. His stamina, his upper body strength and stability, his progressive ball carry ability and decent iq play is perfect attribute for box-to-box midfileder in Sarr position. With Ange system, winger needs to run to baseline and wide area not cut inside, so right-foot winger would be more suitable than opposite foot dominant winger like Kulusevski.

My favourite starting 11 would be (I’m sorry Bentancur 💔):
    Son - Richarlison - Johnson
    Maddison - Bissouma - Kulusevski
    Udogie - VDV - Romero - Porro
    Vicario

Kulu has one of the best work rates in the league so I think him and Maddison in midfield would be much more secure than it sounds

I think Kulu will be a world-class 8 in the years to come.

10 or wide right doesn't matter.

All lineups with two CAM are prone to lowblocks and counterattacks. So with both Madders and Kulu there won't be much space available, we need a winger that able to cross consistently and beat people one-on-one to provide width. I hope Gil will develop into one, he has all the talents. And now we have even a third CAM option in LoCelso, althought i see him more as an regista role as a possible replacement of Bissuma.

Low blocks restrict central areas regardless of shape.
For sure a 1 vs 1 winger can massively help us here, but 2 quality advanced 8s also helps.
We got a good video on 1 vs 1 wingers. Check it out!

@@LilywhiteLab yep, your video on wingers is nice, i enjoyed it! And for advancer 8s - for lowblock you don't have enough space if you utilize two number eight. You need someone to stretch and to collect rebounds. Do you remember how we suffered against lowblocks under Andre VilasBoas? I suppose we'll have something similar if we use Kulu and Madders the same way. It's a big question on how to utilize best qualities of LoCelso, Madders and Kulu. And have a place for Bentancur, Papa Sarr and others.

@@mrnippletwister7342100% the responsibility is often with those on the flanks.
However shots from range, intricacy on the edge of the box and eye of the needle passes can also unpick a low block.
