I tend to tie the Gurgler as a double for night time "surface lure" fishing, I too use the Gamakatsu stinger hooks. Good fly, and some nice ideas thank you!

Secondly, I think you SHOULD claim that „palmering hackle style/technic“! HAven’t seen that ever before (ok, that’s just me) Such a smart idea that you came up with! The technique I use is new for me, but normally there is always someone that has done this before. But yes, it’s a cool way to palmer a hackle and it’s pretty fast to, ones you get a hang of it. Hello, I had a question could I replace the fox tail by snowshoe rabbit or squirrel tail.? Can you use this on a put and take place also in size 8 or 10 then. Kind regards Herwig.

nick p hi Nick. I do fish these flies in the dark. But they also work great during the sunset and sunrise. I haven’t tried them in the daytime, but I know several people are catching fish with these all day long. But for me, these are for nigh fishing.
