At 9:45 it took every inch of Mes's agility and athleticism to turn a ball that was flying out into a perfect assist. It was practically impossible. He almost didn't do it. But somehow, some way, his professional sports conditioning, his height and strength, and all his skill combined to turn a harmless miss no one would ever remember into a game changing opportunity. Possibly a season changing opportunity. And probably a career changing one, too. He ran backwards, outjumped the bar, reached high and managed to flip the ball back into play at the last possible second, and then dived forward onto his face, all in one fluid movement. Only someone with huge talent could do that. Well done. Now. Off you pop.
Fair point, it was spectacular enough to make everyone forget about Wober's horrific defending that led to the first goal and several other big chances.
That's got to be a dropable offence surely , it's not as if it's a one of is it? He's been flapping at crosses for years now anyway, combined with the Sunderland game and generally conceding from pretty much every opposition chance all season
@@carlharris5986 Yes, it probably is. Although I've realised what happened. He didn't really know where he was. He thought he was two or three feet further from goal. I now think that when he tried to catch that ball he thought he was saving it. He only realised how close he was to the goal when the cross bar hit his hands. It was still a very bad mistake, but not quite so inexplicable.
@@kongvinter33 And we can blame Meslier for all the dropped points he cost us. Tanaka won't be the only one leaving. Next season will be another rebuild season.
@@ukstudmuffin yes, half the team will leave next season. Tanaka, Gnonto, Wøber, Ampadu, Aronsen, Piroe, Joseph, James. Maybe we keep Ramazani, Rodon Strjuik, Gruev, Crew, Byram, Gelhardt and Bamford! Back to 14th!!! hehehe
Mesllier doesn't inspire confidence in me, never has. He can stop a shot but the rest of his play isn't good enough, his poor positioning and decision making are starting to show through now - time for a change.
Second and third both junior mistakes, unforgivable at this level - palms it back into play when all he had to do was palm it over and waste another two mins on a corner. Then goes for a punch and doesn't even get close, then out of position. The boy Kamara took it well, the last one but he should never have received the ball. We need a new goalie when we go up.
Wtf was the Hull keeper thinking??? Also, special praise for the Leeds keeper to keep that ball from going out allowing Hull to get back into the game 😂
Actually it's Farke. He picks him, defends him and praises him as the best in the league. Farke should be nowhere near acquisition of players. He's a poor judge of player.
It's ridiculous to blame Meslier for us not going up last season. In the end we just weren't good enough - the loss of Struyk and Bamford was more important than falings of Meslier. And have you forgotten Leicester away ?
Hull played well first half but Leeds game back in a fantastic second half performance to a comfortable 3-1 and Meslier screwed us over again. There are too many mistakes too often. The back line don’t trust him. Let this be a sign to 49’ers to get a new goalkeeper in January. That is our weak link and if we want auto’s that is the position we replace.
@@WayneGibbins definitely not. You were lost in the second half until you were handed a goal. The third goal was a bad error but Piroe still took on two defenders and slotted it away from a tight angle. Yours was right infront of goal. First half Leeds didn’t even turn up. Second half we dominated completely and you got lucky to be honest.
@aragornelessar956 You must have attended a different game. The last 10 minutes Leeds weren't in the game at all and yeah, our second goal was a mistake, but that's what happens at this level, you get punished. Leeds didn't deserve to win, we battled for it, earned it and after a pretty demoralising first half of the season, we'll take it against a squad that cost ten times what ours did.
Sheffield absolutely his mistake cost us the win there. Same here. And you can throw in Portsmouth too. But my issue is he's cost us last season too. I lost count how many times we lost points just on his errors alone
After looking again at the goals we conceded only number 2 was solely due to a goalkeeping error - of judgement. He might have stood a better chance had he continued his rush out in Kamara's direction for the first one,, but the 'blame' for that goal lies primarily with Wober (and where anyway wss Ampadu). The third goal is a mess all round - but given Rodon's difficujty with heading a ball at set pieces, I might cut Meslier a bit of slack for that clumsy attempt to get to the cross. And he certainly isn't responsible for the atrocious penalty area marking, which left Kamara a free shot. I think Michael is right to point to a persistent problem with Meslier's goaline positioning which we saw again on Saturday. One would have thought good coaching could have sorted it out by now.
Shocking goalkeeping at the both ends of the table, both are struggling to get over the line. If Karl Darlow doesn’t get any game time in the next couple of weeks. He should go instead of Messilier.
It would arguably be the biggest championship embarrassments if this Leeds team does not get promoted. Watching yesterday they have a 10mil+ pound player in 2/3rds of their position. We did incredibly well to earn a point. Sellers is giving me Marco Silva vibes.
It is the same as last year. I would argue that Leeds had more talent last year. The common link between the two seasons is Farke. He is a terrible manager.
Did you ever see Sprake play ? Don't believe the rubbish spoken about him. Equal best goalie in Leeds' history. And I've seen all of them since Roy Wood.
@jeffgleisner890 Yep season ticket holder in the revie era, saw him more than most, brilliant keeper then many a gaff that cost us big time. As revie once said "if he,d changed the keeper earlier we,d have won more"
Some costly gaafes, I agree. but commanded his area and had a touch of genius about him. He won us a European cup. I don't recall his actually losing us one, ok Chelsea, but that was an equaliser, not a winning goal. I always thought Revie and specially Bremner were harsh on him.

actually, i reckon Meslier was even worse for the first goal, but if Leeds want to offload Meslier they may well have to give his number 1 admirer, Farke, the boot.
I've been holding off on Meslier for a while now, giving him the chance to redeem himself, but it has now gone too far, it is time for him to go. I honest to God knew that as soon as they got that corner in the 89th it was a dead cert goal, there is no confidence whatsoever in the defence or the keeper at Leeds. We need a keeper who the defence can rely on. But as per usual the glaringly obvious will not be apparent to Farke and the powers that be and the January window will again be wasted and Leeds will pay, have no doubt about it...
I sh@t myself every time he touches the ball , this is our time , weve never had a squad like this , they get real and act in this window or we lose all our best players and we start again , not enjoying this ride at all !
