For Conquest, the chant is always, “Beat ... the xxx”. That is, xxx = the name of the team we are playing that day. On this day, we were playing Stanford, who is known as The Farm. So you are hearing “Beat ... the Farm”! Notre Dame is Beat the Irish, UCLA is Beat the Bruins, Washington is Beat The Huskies, etc.
As an aspiring Trojan I speak all of my opinions/critiques in love and mean no harm or disrespect in anyway! The band are highly skilled and talented under then director Dr. Arthur Barton's tutelage! The Song Girls are always great and what made me decide to look seriously at USC as a prospective student were these Spirit of Troy videos! I'm among my many past accomplishments a amateur Videographer and know my business when it comes to that whole situation. When I see "the take" (footage that's basically $h!t) is a joke because of amateurish/ineptitude/incompetence on the part of the cameraman/woman I naturally cringe! You've in this and other videos I've seen a very narrow window of time (2 minutes or less) to setup and get "the shot" which means you've gotta have mapped out what you're gonna do hours or days in advance. It looks like they pulled a couple of drunks out of a bar or club close by the campus and handed them the camera and told them to give it a go! The cameraman is panning all over the place! There is no flow, system or rhythm to what they're doing! That's why I say that it fundamentally sucks!
Don't get me wrong it has "ok" moments but the basic flaw to the whole thing is lousy camera angle/position (along with panning allover the place randomly willy nilly) Filming from a cattycorner position very rarely works out to a quality outcome!
