Charlize Theron really committed 100% to a freaking Fast and the Furious movie. We all know it's predictable family-friendly action, but for just a moment, she genuinely looked like she was going to kill a baby. Absolutely bonkers.

As much as I like the idea of naming Dom’s kid Brian I always thought it would’ve been better to name him Paul. Mainly b/c since the Brian O’Connor character is still alive and to me the sentiment is stronger.

The Fast Saga is the highest- grossing franchise in Universal Pictures' history.
F7 gave us so much and we all wondered what to expect from F8.
I liked that F8 was more of an unpredictable story.
You never would have guessed, that family would be broken.
Dom's betrayal, Hobbs leading Dom's crew against him, bringing Deckard Shaw into the mix
and facing off against a new, formidable villain Cypher (Theron on point) was complete mayhem.
The action, humor, suspense and the biggest piece of the story being "Dom's a Father" blew me away.
To reinterate on the action. these stunts and sequences were among the best ever made.
Bump the disbelief or overkill of it all, this was all worth the price of admission.
    F. Gary Gray directed Friday (1995), Set It Off (1996), The Negotiator (1998) and Straight Outta Compton (2015).
In 2003, he directed Diesel in "A Man Apart", Charlize Theron & Jason Statham in the remake of "The Italian Job".
F8 was the biggest film that Gray ever made in terms of budget and scale.
Diesel & Johnson's partnership started to fall out during the making of F8.
Surprisingly, It was more of a professional one more than personal.
They rarely appeared on screen together because of that.
Johnson & Statham get more screen time together in this one and
it was a good build for the upcoming Hobbs & Shaw spinoff.
Everything at major high level goodness.
    At It's peak once again.

48:45 - 49:40 Straight Facts man, If all 10 Fast & furious movies were just only racing and just a couple of crazy or insane stunts with cars and stuff then all the people who are hating on the movies and complaining would also be complaining about it’s all just racing, there’s nothing New anymore it’s just boring but then when the movie turns into what they are now people will still complain so you can’t win on both sides. I love these movies because the way I see it is Fast & Furious to me is all about The characters, Story, Especially the Cars, The Girls lol they always show whenever there about to race, the stunt are fire asf whether there not realistic plus I’ve grown up with them so I hardly dislike any of them except fast 9 it was awesome but out all the stunts they’ve done I think going to space was a bit tooooo far lol just saying lol

No hate, but why you call Friday a "Cult Classic" like it WASN'T well reviewed & universally loved by almost everyone when it came out in 95 & helped boost the careers of almost everyone who was in it?
If I'm not mistaken, the "Cult Classic" status is mainly for those films that weren't well reviewed at the time of their release, but still had such a "cult" following of dedicated fans who loved & appreciated them, that they stayed relevant throughout the years.
For example, Vampire In Brooklyn (with Eddie Murphy) is considered a "Cult Classic" now by some.

    Some fun facts
    1. The Fate of the Furious is the third film (aside with a mention) after 2006's Tokyo Drift and 2009's short film Los Bandoleros not to feature the character Brian O'Conner who was officially retired in Furious 7 following Paul Walker's death.
    2. Both this film and Transformers: Age of Extinction have these things in common:
    (1) They are both are set in 2017
They both have "The Rules Have Changed" message
    (2) They have avenged deaths even though another villain escapes:
Ratchet is killed by Lockdown and then he is killed by Optimus Prime while Megatron/Galvatron escapes
Elena Neves is killed by Connor Rhodes and then he is killed by Dominic Toretto while Cipher escapes
    3. Cipher is one of six antagonists; who survive the events of the film(s) they appear in. The others are Carter Verone (2 Fast 2 Furious), Takashi (The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift), Arturo Braga (Fast & Furious), Owen Shaw (Fast & Furious 6) and Deckard Shaw (Furious 7). However she is the only antagonist to escape arrest and the only antagonist to survive punishment twice (as most of the other villains have either reformed or arrested for their crimes).
    4. Jenny Slate, Drew Barrymore, Yeardley Smith, Halle Berry, Robin Wright, Helen Hunt and Kristen Wiig were all considered for the role of Cipher before Charlize Theron was cast.
    5. Charlize Theron is the first actress to portray a central antagonist in The Fast and the Furious franchise
    6. When Mr. Nobody (Kurt Russell) explains the "top 10 most wanted" list, and that Roman (Tyrese Gibson) was number 11, he says people in the room are numbers 6, 8, 9, and 10. The missing number 7 is a tribute to Paul Walker, who died during production of Furious 7 (2015). His character, Brian O'Conner, is now out of the line.
    7. When the crew is shown the garage of all of the cars including the army tank, you can see Paul Walker's GTR that his character drove in Furious 7 (2015) up on top of one of the three-tier car racks. A subtle tribute to the late actor.
    8. In one argument between Hobbs and Shaw, Dwayne Johnson decided to ad-lib and came up with a line about knocking Shaw's teeth so far down his throat, he'd need to stick a toothbrush up his ass to brush them. Jason Statham was so amused by the ad-lib that he broke character and started laughing. That's the take that was used in the film.
    9. During the London premiere of Furious 7 (2015) Helen Mirren raved about the movie and her wish to appear in a role if there would be a sequel made. She reiterated her wish in an appearance on The Graham Norton Show (2007) saying that she wouldn't need "to act" and would just have fun in the movie. Word got around to Vin Diesel who wrote a role for her in this movie. Diesel upon hearing it while doing an interview confirmed she will playing Shaw brothers mother and yes there is clip of him saying that.
    10. While backstage at the 2015 MTV Movie Awards, Vin Diesel hinted in an interview that this movie would be set in New York City. He stated that "Furious 7 (2015) was for Paul and The Fate of the Furious (2017) will be from Paul". Before his tragic death, Paul Walker told Diesel that "Furious 8" was guaranteed to be made. Diesel reiterated the dedication in numerous other interviews while promoting this movie. This explains why the beginning of this movie opens with a street race paying homage to the first two movies in the series whose opening scenes contained street races involving Paul Walker's character.
    11. The first major Hollywood blockbuster to film in Cuba since the 1950s.
    12. The coordinates 34.1381N,118.3534W that come up right before the Red Dragon soccer scene are actually the coordinates for Universal Studios theme park in Los Angeles.
    13. Lucas Black was set to reprise his character from The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006). Unfortunately his schedule for his TV series NCIS: New Orleans (2014) prevented him from doing this.
    14. In this movie Kurt Russell plays Mr. Nobody one of his bases of operations he refers to as "Nowhere". Russell also played Ego (the living planet) in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017), in which there is another planet/location called "Knowhere".
    15. During the kids' soccer game Hobbs tells the government official that if he loses the game, he'll have to take the girls to Tay Tay concerts - Tay Tay referring to Taylor Swift. Co-star Scott Eastwood appeared alongside Swift in her music video, "Wildest Dreams".

Maaaan, I still don't like the fact that they bent over backwards to make Shaw a good guy, to the point that he's at the BBQ. I can handle him working with the family, but to have him at the BBQ at the end when (at that point) he had KILLED HAN?! Nah, that never sat right with me lol. Despite ppl hating on F9, I actually was fine with them bringing back Han, because that is the only way to justify Shaw being this much of an ally.

    • @SwimmingSince1997
      @SwimmingSince1997 Год назад +2

I never saw it as them "bending over backwards", I simply saw it as Dom realizing that in order to get his son & Elena out safely, he had to make a difficult compromise & let go of the hatred he felt for Shaw & what he did to Han.... & sure ppl are more than welcome to hate that decision, but it did make sense for Dom to make it when you consider the kinda character he is...
It's also a progression for the Shaw character cause when you really step back & look at his whole motivation in 7, outside of a few traits, he's really no different from Dom's character in a sense that Dom would've done the same thing (& they ACTIVELY mirror each other in some aspects throughout that film) ... So It makes sense that they would bury the hatchet for the sake of both of them getting what they want (Shaw wanting revenge on Cipher, Dom wanting to bring his son home)
& even the scene between him & Hobbs kinda paints a different picture of Shaw where even Hobbs is surprised to read all of Shaw's highly awarded accomplishments (which further adds to Hobbs' confliction in that at first he knew what kinds person Shaw was & is now starting to think that he's been completely wrong)
I personally like what they've done with the character, cause (to me at least) it adds nuance & depth to the character & let's him be more than just a one-off antagonist. I completely get why ppl don't tho
Also, I don't know what they got planned for that "Shaw & Han" scene in Fast X, but I can guarantee you that they're gonna do some more retconning to the whole "Shaw killed Han" plotline to where it's DEFINITELY gonna split ppl even more... Me personally, I like both characters so I'm willing to go with whatever they come up with lol

@@SwimmingSince1997 Oh, I didn't mean the characters bending over backwards to make Shaw a hero... I just meant the movie itself. I'm okay with them developing Shaw's character more, BUT there is a way to do it without fundamentally betraying the "family" aspect that has been overtly hammered down in these movies. They have established that Dom's crew is a tightly-knit group. So when one of their own is killed, the LAST thing you ever expect to see is the group eventually INVITING his supposed-killer to the BBQ. Even if retconning is going to be part of the story later, it totally does a disservice to the characters and story IN THE MOMENT. I think "Fast X" handled teaming up with Shaw better because you actually saw a more antagonistic dynamic between the team and Shaw. We saw a bit of it in F8 as well, but to have Shaw at the BBQ was pretty stupid.

See watching all these movies before the new movie comes out I do it every time they have a new one. And it just reminds me of how bad the physics is in the last one The physics and all of these movies is grounded in some type of realism Yes it's a little bit over the top but if you suspend a little bit of disbelief you can see that some of it is actually plausible. But with fast nine the physics was so messed up that it kind of made the whole movie to me a very disjointed I did like the storyline I did like the characters but that physics for me it just made me dislike the movie a lot. And I'm hoping that they fix that aspect in the newest one you got a ground the movie in a little bit of realism Good job though fellas on another reaction I really enjoy you guys's reaction videos keep up the great work and I'll catch you on the next one have a good one.

100% agreed! If the movies stayed purely about street racing, the movies would have been held back, they would have stayed "grounded" and the elevation of the stunts, scenes and high stakes would not have happened! What a good series of reactions, my guys! 🤌
